It's hard to say
I will try to explain it with my bad English.
Assume battery capacity is 2000 mAh (I know it's 2100, 2000 is easier to calculate )
you use it down to 50% which means 1000 mAh, and screen took 800 mAh, so let's say, screen took 80% battery within this 1000 mAh.
And then you put it in stand by for few hours for example let's say 5 hours and it took 1% for hour, so 5% in total
After alll, battery has been drained 55%, means , 2000 * 0.55 is 1100 mAh, within this 1100 mAh, screen used 1000 mAh according to previous calculation, so, after 5 hours of stand by, screen usage should be from 80% down to (800/1100) = 72%.
So, if your screen battery usage is high and you stop screen on, with time passing on, it should be decrease screen battery usage percentage.
Alright, I don't know what I am talking about...

How to improve capacity of your SG Ace Battry

I have tried this trick and it works on my SG Ace:
1. Open your phone and charge it for 7-8 hours.
2. Shut off your phone, wait for at least 2 minutes and charge it again for 1 hour.
3. Turn on your phone and wait for at least 2 minutes and charge it for 1hour.
You will notice an improvement on the life and capacity of your battery.
Hope this will help.

does it really improve the battery?
"Perform shallow discharges. Instead of discharging to 0% all the time, lithium-ion batteries do best when you discharge them for a little bit, then charge them for a little bit. The table at the right, from Battery University, shows that discharges to 50% are better for your battery's long-term life than, say, small discharges to 90% or large discharges to 0% (since the 50% discharges provide the best number of cycles-to-usage ratio)."

hi mate
yes you have bad battery
with wanamlite rom + speedmod kernel i still 54% of battery after 2 days of use
can you give us some screen shots of your battery performance?
what rom & kernel do you use?
Post your usage statistics
hey can you post an image of your battery usage? maybe i can help you if you do that, go to: Settings>Applications>Battery usage and press the home button and power button at the sime time, it will take a picture of your screen so you can attach it
You need to let the battery have two-three charge cycles after you flash anything to get an idea of the battery length

Really bad battery life...

So, I'm using the newest stable release of CM9 with Siyah kernel and my battery life is terrible. Not even using the phone for an hour, eight hours of standby, and it's already down to 30%. Any solutions?

Most battery drain issues are user related, check your apps with Better Battery Stats and install cpu spy for sleep time of the cpu. Might be some rogue stampeding apps/widgets on your phone
As you can see on attachments, my battery stats are equal... my awake time is very high, and i have better battery stats installed, it says my cpu time are 90% into 200mhz mode, but as you can see 15% with 13h of usage... but doesn't show any application draining my battery...
Anyone know how to trace this correctly?
Battery probs

You are using siyah?
Make your cpu 1200-200 or 1000-200
Overvoltage 50
And you will see the difference.

The weirdest battery status ever recorded

Nah, didn't switch battery nor charged it, I simply unlocked my phone to find it at 0% and shutting down, when it turned off I tried holding the power button again (because I was sure it was charged) and then it turned on with 1% and then kept increasing till it reached the flat level and then proceeded to decrease again!

The battery works perfectly normal now, and during that day it continued to work normally after it reached the flat level (it decreased as usual after this). I know, it's crazy!
mine did that too. till 13% to 94%. I removed the battery and put it back in.
I guess sometimes the battery sensor goes cuckoo haha.

[Q] Brightness control at 5% battey level

At 5% or lower, the screen is forced to go dim and I loose the ability to set brightness. Both in settings and by pulling down notif. bar. Is there any way to turn off this force-to-go-dim?

Forced dim for battery level below 5% is normal. If it automatically dims when it is over 5% battery then that's a bug. I never experienced the dim bug.
You really shouldn't let your battery get that low anyway, lithium batteries don't like being discharged that much.

Sometimes I can't help it but I'm using third party battery so I'm not too bothered. I got them for less than £5 for 3500 mah, been using them since I got my Mega (over 5 weeks now) and never had problems.
The advice I gave is valid but with batteries so cheap these days I'm not sure it matters any more.
Do you find your 3500mAh batteries actually last longer or about the same?

Can't tell as I've never used the battery that came in the box. I'm keeping all accessories pristine for selling it on. Anyway, I get over 24 hours for light use and 10 hours with heavy use on the third party battery.
Cheers, that sounds much the same as I'm getting.

I can see the caution of using lithum battery. But at the times when I am out of immediate reach of a charger and a replacement battery, and I need an extra minute to finish an email or text, it becomes counter productive.
