if so how?
My screen took a crap and I'm getting replacement but I unable to power down using soft keys. Is there a way to power down using hard keys.
Thanks
Hold down the power button for 10 seconds (sometimes takes closer to 15 seconds). The home/back/recent buttons will start flashing after about 5 seconds. and when they stop flashing it is off.

So i powered off just using the power off option without holding the power button down for 30 seconds. 5 hours later i can't get my kindle fire to power back up. What do i need to do? I read that the backlight stays on unless you hold the power button for 30 seconds.
i haven't experienced this but in case it happens, what if the phone enters a bootloop, how does someone go about turning the phone off (since you cant battery pull) and get into the bootloader/recovery??
hold power key for about 10 seconds or so.don't let go until phone turns off.
EDIT: Here you go Page 24. It says Note: If the phone hangs and the touchscreen does not respond, press and hold "power" for about 10 seconds to restart the phone.

Symptom #2:
If the device cannot power on, and seems that it cannot be charged, it could be that the device is not in default operation mode. This can be caused when the “volume up key” was pressed while pressing the “power” key when device was last powered down. To power on and off the device normally, please be careful to not hold down any other hardware key while pressing the power key during power up operations.
How to fix:
1. Press & hold the power button for up to ~ 20 seconds. The capacitive keys (three keys at bottom of screen) should begin flashing. This indicates that a reset is imminent. Continue to hold power until they stop flashing.
2. Release the power key
3. Press the power key again for 1 second. Wait a few seconds and the device should then power on

Yeah I don't think that actually helps with a true bootloop. Restarting the device is just looping another boot. lol.
Try just holding down the vol-down button through one of the bootloops. Not sure that will work ... but worth a try.
Anyone experience where their phone refuses to turn on at times. The power button gerlnerates no response until pressed 5-10 times. I don't think its the power button itself because at anytime, holding the power button still results in the capative buttons flashing. Anyone know what may be cause the unresponsiveness and how I can fix it or prevent it from happening?

This might be a stupid question but because the battery of this phone is non-removable, how do you manually turn it off or restart it in case it freezes up?
Hold down the power button til it restarts. There's also a basic tear down guide on how to do a manual reboot posted out there.
Sent from my LG-E970
so even if it's frozen if you hold down the power button it will still shutdown? good to know that, I'm gonna search for that tear down guide..thanks
Both volume buttons plus power for about 10 seconds simulates a battery pull.
This started happening alot now a days with my infinix zero 2, i am using my device smoothly than suddenly it goes blank screen and did not respond, nor reboot or power up till its whole battery drop to 0, as it has non removable battery so i can not just plug it off and put it back.. Sometimes it vibrate whole time while in blank screen. I have tried almost everything,
1. hold the power button for more than 30 sec
2.hold the volume down button along the power button (till 1 min)
3. hold the volume up button along the power button (till 1 min)
4.hold the volume up and down button along the power button (till 1 min)
5. Even i reinstall its software by sp-flash tool (device is not rooted)
Blank screen will stay for 1 to 2 days until its battery runs out. than i have to charge it and will function properly. but after some few days this happen again again and it annoys me so much. i need a solution please help me out. It is in blank screen right now and i have to travel and i need it urgent. Thanks in advance
