[Q] Sprint branded S II shows I9100? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is this possible? I've been digging Odin files for this phone, but all lead to GSM technology S II. Not Sprint...
Is that the problem with this phone?

Yes, its possible. If you were foolish enough to flash an i9100 firmware or kernel to an SPH-D710.
Edit: BTW. You're in the wrong forum for your device. You REALLY want to be in the correct forum for your device, which is http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1281.

Thanks, that's all I needed to know.

So i have a question..

Hi all i have a Samsung Galaxy S II on vodafone i guess its locked on vodafone (not sure), I was wondering if there a way i can reflash it or reinstall it with default SII software?
Very good, now ask it in the Q&A Forum not in the General Forum. Take Care.
P.S. Someone could have had this brilliant idea before. Search.
So I have an answer...
Possible.
How?! Search & Read.
As usual the trolls show up in masses to ridicule instead of helping. XDA is going downhill fast.
Yes, you can put an unbranded firmware on your phone. Intratech is in the process of reuploading his firmwares that can help you do this. Once they are available you will use a program called Odin to flash it onto your phone.

[Q] Compatible with T-Mobile

Hi Guys,
Just wondering if Galaxy S 2 international version ROM compatible with Tmobile G S2?
The Tmobile's S2 custom ROMs sucks and wondering if I can flash one of these ROMs if possible.
thank you
We need your phone type (i9ooo, etc.) to be able to answer this question.
Need. Moar. Info.
He's talking about the T-Mobile USA T989 as far as I can tell.
You have your own forum for that device because it has nothing in common with the Galaxy S II (despite the name, it isn't really a GS2...)
If you flash anything from the I9100 or I777 forums on a T989, YOU WILL HARDBRICK.
The only device outside of the I9100 forums that can run I9100 firmwares is the AT&T variant (SGH-I777). (Even that requires some work.)

U.S. Cellular's variant (Model SCH-R760) is the same as Sprint's Epic 4G Touch, but without the integrated WiMax radio. All other specifications remain the same.
So, the correct forum is this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1281

[Q] Galaxy S3 Variants

Hello,
I've bought today S3 and searched XDA-Dev forums for some info regarding custom ROMs etc. I've found two sub-forums; this one and one for carrier specific variants of S3, my Galaxy is from European (Polish) T-Mobile distribution and my question is - can I use ROMs, Kernels, Radios etc. only from "T-Mobile Galaxy S III Android Development" topic or any other as well?
Please forgive this maybe stupid question...
Cheers!
The US-versions have another device ID, so they are pretty easy to tell apart.
Settings->About device->Model number will tell you what model you got, this forum is about the GT-I9300 (with or without 'T' suffix)
Hardwarewise the international and the US-version are vastly different so flashing one's ROM on the other will (soft)brick the device and potentially cause harm.
Thank you for clearing it up, I've checked and my model number is in fact GT-I9300.

[Q] GS3 Canadian user seeking which version to use

Hi Guys,
Brand new Galaxy S3 user here and I've just Rooted my phone and I'm searching around on which ROM to flash. Only issue is that I have no idea which version I need in terms of ROM. I know when rooting my phone I followed a different guideline and I don't want to fubar up my phone. I'm with Rogers and I know I followed a US/Canadian guide...
When looking on the get.cm website I saw this
d2usc
Samsung Galaxy S III (US Cell)
which seems to be the closest thing to me but I just want to be sure.
Thanks,
This is International I9300 forum flashing firmware from here may brick another model .

What is the exact model number of your phone? (can be found in settings->about device)
SGH-I747M
I've found the SlimBean ROM for my phone but even that took a while to hunt down.
I tried searching on get.cm but I've found that it never actually gives me my provider (Rogers).
