Xperia Go battery level nonsenses - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

I have Xperia Go with latest ICS update. I noticed battery status nonsenses. Integrated battery status says 40%, but after reboot - 48% or something like that. How to fix it? How to disable it? Maybe battery status program from Play Store will help to fix issue? BTW, after I did ICS update, I did factory reset.
Thanks

Yeah this seems to be a „feature“ of all Xperias. I have the same issue with XP. Battery jumps 10% up after phone OFF/ON and the batery is even charging for a while when all networks turned OFF lol xD
Try to use root toolkit and "Calibrate battery". This probably won't help however .. :_((

happens with me and everyone i guess...but it isn't as annoying..after reboot it shows a little increase but it's back to the original level in a very short period of time...in your case if it doesn't then enjoy the extra battery life

[Q] Battery drain

Okay so I've just updated a few apps and yesterday I had a problem with the headset supposedly being connected. Then after charging it last night its taken only 8 hours to go from full charge to 14% with 71% being on Android System...
Anyone had any issues since the new update of Launcher Pro, Circle launcher or Traffice Counter... Those are the only apps I think could be causing the drain...
I would guess its the traffic counter... see if theres settings to change the amount it updates (i.e. per 5mins, 30mins, 1 hour etc)
I get 30+hours out of my hero easily...
Cheers man found it was set to update phone calls every 10 mins instead of 60.
I wouldn't have thought the update would have made changes to my current settings though but will see and report back.
I normally get 30+ hours too. It can only be a few different apps doing it so will see and remove if I need to or if I have to i'll roll back.
Update 1. battery drain is worse and headset thinks its plugged in. Have uninstalled circle launcher and the traffic counter so it wasn't them.
Update 2. Have done a nandroid restore and didn't have any luck battery was still draining and Android OS was 70% before I updated the apps. I googled around a bit more and decided the soft reboot/restart would be a good idea.
Phone on pulled out battery. Then left it off for the night. Turned it on this morning 99% battery 3:43 up time. Have sent/recieved a few sms messages and haven't done much else. At this stage I'm saying this has resolved the issue.
Only reason i'm updating this is because if someone has the same problem in the future it might be helpful.

Battery drop, 91%-17%

Hie guys, I just woke today to see my phone was off and when I switched it on the battery was @17%, from the battery stats in settings it shows my phone switched off after 2hours of me sleeping. So what can really make a phone lose 74% battery whilst it's OFF??!!
Help me or you can paste me a link to where similar problems have been discussed.
Thanx.

Download a battery calibration tool off the market and use it, I have had this happen to me before where i would lose over 50% of battery life just by restarting my phone, and it would gradually go back up.
Also check if their are any updates for your rom and os you are running

Probably a pointless exercise since it's been proven you can't "calibrate" the battery in an S2.
I've had something similar happen, I was raping my battery with a torch app then restarted. Before the restart I had about 90%, after it was around 30%.
Could it be a sign of the battery failing? I've not had any real problems otherwise..
Perhaps you have wake locks? Purchase better battery stats or download it using the search button.
A high battery drain is often a limiting factor for a great user experience.
With BetterBatteryStats you can analyse the behavior of your phone, find applications causing the phone to drain battery while it is supposed to be asleep and measure the effect of corrective actions:
- Spot drainers based on detailed information about the root cause
- Use the online Knowledge-Base to find how to reduce or remove the wakelocks
- measure the effect of actions to reduce drain
- detect changes in the awake/sleep profile and quickly find the causes (rogue apps)

Xperia P battery problem

Hi,
I feel that my battery is going bad after about 8 months of usage. I'm not sure if i still have the warranty (it was bought in different country).
I changed to fully stock rom but it's the same.
It get's fully drained in about 8-10h. Light usage. Even with all the stamina mode/low brightness etc...
The worst thing is that when it's down to about 30% or less, it starts acting up. The % would drop to 0% and the phone would turn off, then after i would turn on the phone again, i would see 70%, then 22%, then 30% again, something like that. After that it might "hold" and work for a few more hours or it might just keep on turning itself OFF.
What the hell is wrong with it...?
How do i replace the battery on this non battery replaceable phone?

You open it up search for Xperia P service manual.
Maybe it's not the battery just the stats? How long do you charge it?
hi, thanks for your answer
i charge the phone overnight and in the evenings
from 7am, until 16:00 it is almost empty with virtually no usage since i'm at work...
sometimes i need to charge it couple of times a day if i use it frequently
battery stats have been deleted, new rom and all...don't know what more to do

No software installed?
Post bat stats along with CPU Spu Plus free(check enable charger events at settings) and Wakelock Detector (check the statistics since unplug in settings) screenshots and we'll see if it's the battery or something else.

thanks, i'll give it a shot and when i'll have all info i'll post it here
For Less battery, go for Custom ROMs
I don't find this kind of drain now.. I felt it in my previous ICS. Now am in Enigma 6.1. This ROM has some mod, which will makes the phone enter in to deep sleep mode after 5 minutes. This makes it more battery friendly....
MoonBreaker v3.5 also a good choice.
sorry guys, i forgot to post my results, i will try to get that info by tomorrow
Anyway, i found this on ebay and i'm thinking on giving it a try. Do you recommend i buy somewhere else? Is there a more quality product out there?
I also found a dissasembly video on youtube how to get to the battery and it doesn't seem that hard + the battery on ebay comes with all the needed screws which is nice.
I have tried 5+ roms and none of them changed anything.
But something troubles me...i spoke with a guy from the Sony repair shop and he says that it's not necessarily the battery, it might also be a problem with the motherboard.
I do not have the warranty anymore so motherboard would be the worst option. Phone works normally though...
I hope some results from the mentioned apps might shed some light on this.
HI
Why dont you try DU Battery App , it will help you to charge it fully. What i observed is that even though the battery status will show as 100 % but when you check Setting --> About phone --> Status --> Battery status it will still be showing charging & if i keep it plugged in for another hour or so it turns to battery status --> Full. So using this App DU Battery you will be able to actually fully charge the battery . Also if you try a custom rom with custom kernel like nemesis 6.3 you will be able to change the cpu govorner settings and can save more battery.
thanks, i'll check it out
i have locked BL so no possibility for custom kernel

Disable Critical Battery Shutdown?

Hi Folks,
I'm on Cyanogenmod 11, running M5. I've been having problems with my battery gauge (or both batteries themselves) since early April nightlies.
The low-level battery gauge shown when the phone is off and charging seems accurate, but the gauge in the OS is all over the place, and will go from 90% to 2% in seconds, then shutdown. I might also be confusing the battery stats by swapping batteries; I don't know.
Is there a way to disable the shutdown? (For what it's worth, I went looking for "reset battery stats" in my modern Clockwork Mod Recovery, but couldn't find it. I don't know if that would help or not.)
I've seen people talk about being able to disable the critical battery shutdown in Xposed, but I know nothing about Xposed, and I'd rather not get into if not completely necessary.
Thanks,
Jamie
Try to do a recharge cycle each month.
Let your battery to be fully over so the phone won't turn on anymore, then recharge it back to 100% without turning the phone on.
Then again let it become dead then repeat the charging process 3 times to recalibrate the Battery meters on the device.
AFAIK "Reset Battery Stats" was removed from newer versions of CWM since it didn't have any effect or actually done anything.
If the above solution doesn't work you can also try the app called "battery calibration", i know that it work for me even if a lot of people are saying that it do nothing :good:
Well, I've tried both of the above, but no luck. I'm back to wondering if there's a way to disable the critical battery shutdown until my Moto G order arrives. The phone's unusable, as it is.
As always some brilliant advice, completely draining li-ion batteries can damage them, doing it multiple times deliberately is just flat out stupid.
I can't get the Xposed DisableCriticalBatteryShutdown module to work, either (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52833676&postcount=78), so I'm still looking for a way to do this, by whatever means necessary.

I´v tryied this module under CyanogenMod 13, Android 6.0
But no success, still looking for the same solution!
Just to encourage this approach, i´m gonna tell what´s happening with my phone.
It goes down to 0% of battery and it shutdown, after that I boot it to the recovery (Clockworkmod) and it stays there with bright screen for more the 3 hours without shutting down!
So 0 % of battery is like 50%!

battery issue

hello.I replaced my battery and I have the same problem (somehow) as before!to clarify..I dont know why I cant get the superb of 11 SOT when I bought it and running kitkat..now I am on lollipop and get max of 7:30 SOT max.
So my issue is that when battery goes down from 16% iy drains battery % muuuch faster!it happens again now even after replacing the battery, but not so quick compared to before..what can be the cause?thanks.
STAMINA Mode?
Do you enable stamina mode when the battery gets low (e.g. 15%)? I find that the battery drains faster when stamina mode is on (sounds funny-I know, since it should improve battery). Even for my Xperia XA, I seem to lose more battery with stamina and even more with ultra stamina. :silly: This is when the device is idle.
yes dude I have always stamina on.I miss the good days with kitkat that I had 11 hours SOT.Maybe I'll revent back to kitkat to test.but I don't think I will get these numbers again..don't know maybe is hardware issue cause tablet is 2+ years old...

Possibly a hardware issue but I doubt it. I've used an Xperia device running KK and can say that that was the last version (I think) that had the good old stamina mode which totally suppressed mobile data/wifi resulting in very good battery life, ever since lollipop they decided to use the built in android battery saver and based stamina mode around that which is next to useless, it doesn't actually suppress the network connection, only reduce brightness, sync and performance.
I find that only keeping the wifi on during use/charging to help a lot, settings->wifi-> it is somewhere there where you can change this.
You could always revert to KK if you find a ftf.
I've only had the tab for a week or two and am happy with the battery life vs performance, much better than the nexus 7 2013.
me too.I love it and have no complain about it.but this battery issue drives me crazy.I found my old flashable zip, maybe I try again kk thanks!

Where did you bought the battery? Maybe it's fake or not new. I'm on Android MM now and battery life is superb compared to lollipop. It's comparable to KK
My Xperia z3 compact tablet battery drains fast
Hi Everyone,
I got the xperia z3 compact tablet earlier this year and it was good for a few months before the battery started giving me issues. It practically drains out while still about 60% charged and when you plug it for charging it begins from 0% before a twinkle of an eye it's at 100%. I noticed lately the tablet goes off even when the battery is saying 80% charged. I've reached out to sony and the suggestion was that i format the tablet which i did but to no avail. Pls is there anything i can do?

Unfortunately it sounds like a hardware problem since a reset didn't fix it. You can try going into the service menu and see battery health there, maybe even do a test on it. To go into the service menu open the phone app and dial *#*#service#*#*
You spell service by using the corresponding number buttons.
Edit: realised it might not have a phone app, in that case download an app from the play store that helps you open the service menu. I don't own this tablet anymore so can't fully remember haha.

You sure? It should be under "Service tests" -> "Battery Health test" (you may have to scroll towards the bottom). For example on my Xperia Z5 it says "Good, no need to replace it." Other than that I don't know what else to say, because if a reset doesn't work it has to be a hardware issue. It may be useful to try an app which reads battery diagnostics.
