Hi
Got my digitizer replaced and the new one is unresponsive in either cwm or aroma. It works after it boots up.
(haven't tried it with twrp yet but I'm pretty sure that doesn't work either)
What do you guys think? Is it because of a s***ty digitizer?
Another thing is if I let it boot not touching the screen untill it goes to sleep it becomes unresponsive so that I need to do a battery pull.
If I unlock it right after the locckscreen comes up, it works fine...
Thanks

It can by digitizer fault but it can bee your phone fault, for example my atrix digitizer become randomly unresponsive until it die (at that moment I think so) then I buy new one and it too don't work, but it can bee so I take magnifier and start look at cables an found microscopic crack. In picture red dot.
So first check your cables and reinstall recovery.

Me not that brave! Haven't replaced it myself. Suppose I'll just go back with it but need to know what to tell the blocks...
As I said, it does work but not before the system boots up.
Did reinstall cwm. No luck
cheers
LE: Strange enough TWRP is working! It's most probably not a hardware thing...

You can try to reinstall your ROM, make factory reset, clean caches but if the glitch still exist then I think it is PDS fault. You can try to recalibrate touch screen but make PDS backup before any changes or you can completely kill touch or brick your device.
P.S I think that TWRP is the best recovery.

Hi. Thanks. Why would I recalibrate? It works fine after the rom loads
Also flashed pdsfix. Nope. No good
Any other ideas?

Well I think it is because you have dual boot but I am not sure.

My friend got a Amaze and today it stopped charging. The cable is fine and so is the Battery. The port does not look damaged. The Phone has been in Case-mate all the time so its decently protected. Could this be caused buy unlocking and rooting it in any way or its purely hardware?

So what do i do if the phone is dead (Battery). I think thats the CWM it has.
Edit: He just told me that when he tried to change the phone was ON and it was not working.

if he still has enough juice left, have him flash the 5.0.2.7 or 5.5.0.4 cwm build from xboarder56. it will fix the issue

I am pretty sure the CWM is have installed is Xboarder56 Logo one. Its not Stock CWM.
OK so I did the HTCDev unlock perfectly fine, then flashed the Leedroid rom (using cwm) and the kernel (using fastboot), it loaded up and was working great until I made a phone call! Within about 2 minutes of the call it cut out completely (had about 70-75% battery), and I mean it literally just completely shut off and now it won't turn back on. I have done battery pulls, tried a different battery, plugging into charger (but light doesn't even come on!). What is going on?
Sounds like leedroid is your problem

Weird... Have u tried vol down+power?
What you could try, take the SD card out and use either another phone or sd adaptor and place on it the PG86IMG.zip file (you can find this in one of the root threads)..........try the volume-down, power button method to see if it boots into recovery.........if this works, then it will read the .zip file.
---------- Post added at 08:34 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:33 AM ----------
of course, after placing the .zip file on the card, put back into your phone before trying to boot into recovery.

I wish I could do that but I can't boot using any button combination at all
the volume-down/power button method, hold them both down simultaneously for awhile................in the past I've had to do this for about a minute to get it to work.............you may have tried that already but doesn't hurt to try again.

Counted two whole minutes while holding them down, nothing :/ beginning to regret buying this now.
that sucks.........did you try finding that .zip file, put on the sdcard, then hold down those buttons for awhile? bTW, when you plug in the charger, do you get a red light?

Yes I tried placing the file on the memory card, no dice. And no I don't get a red light when plugging into charger. It's as if the ROM or whatever the issue is, has completely destroyed it.

Sounds like a hardware issue. How long did you have it before unlocking it? Did you even make sure that the phone ran a few days before screwing around with installing a ROM and Kernel?
Would you buy a new car and not break it in before replacing the factory parts with aftermarket parts?

Used it for about an hour as stock, but that is irrelevant. I wasn't "screwing around" either, I have flashed many phones in my time and always follow the guides provided to completion. The car analogy isn't anything like this, rooting or installing a ROM wouldn't cause a hardware issue any different to a stock ROM would.

That is halfway correct. But you said in your original post that you installed a kernel. The kernel is what runs the hardware. If the kernel is set to run the phone out of spec, this could cause hardware issues.
Did you change the max CPU? What about undervolting?

The kernel was the leedroid one, but I thought it only started running that if you booted regularly eg not into fastboot?

If you installed the ROM and Kernel, you were running it when you made the phone call and the phone went dead. Leeroids kernel, even though he is an excellent developer and I am not saying anything bad about him or his work, changes cpu and undervolting settings which could cause issues with the phone. I am not saying that that is what caused your issue, but it could have been your phone not playing nice with the kernel.
only other thing I would try is leave the battery out for an hour and try again...........but you've probably been down that road.
Yep... sounds to me like a hardware failure. Shiat! :-/

That is very true, I was just hoping that the kernel "boot up" so to speak could be avoided by opening fastboot and flashing a stock rom back. But as you stated perhaps the undervolting has messed something up. Thank you very much for your insight and help.

Hi Guys... In need of a lot of help...
I finally got bored of waiting for the official update and wanted to try some Jello...
Now I have problems after what I thought was going to be easy...
I'm using the SGS3 Toolkit by Mskip...
Installed the drivers and selected option 3 on the root menu
All seems fine until the exiting Odin.. The box never turned green and the phone reset.
Now the phone will boot and seems to work, but the power button doesn't switch the screen off and it then becomes impossible to unlock. Need to reset to unlock (and then it only happens once)
Any helpers - other than that I should have waited...
Thank in advance
Neville
Flash back to stock Rom with Odin, then use cf root

Hoping the stock will recover the phone then...

Well you did it the hard way, thats for sure.
To root your phone all you needed to do was flash CF-Root with ODIN

Just to make sure, your power button isn't stuck in or anything?
There were some faulty S3's where the power button got jammed.
This morning no problems... after trying to root...
The power button works when turning on, but the screen isn't responsive (as in no response to touch)
when turning off, it dims the screen and eventually times out...

PLEASE HELP!!!!! First please note that I am an idiot that DID NOT have my phone backed up at all. What a mistake that is, here is what happened. The other day by phone froze up on me. I tried to reboot it and it kept looping through my start up screens but wouldn't boot all the way. So I tried to do the recovery option and part way through that the screen gave me a symbol of a red triangle and would go no further. Then I tried the option to wipe and factory reset, but it can't complete that function either and tells me that it can't load or mount sd card. I'm computer knowledgable with some programming skills, is there anything that I can do? I should have known better to have backed up my darned phone, but I didn't. Please help if you can!!!

The digitizer is the screen that is over the LCD screen. It is the part that registers the touches. So basically, if you were to get another Thounderbolt, you would take your digitizer off and replace this one with yours. This making this one a fully working device. As far as price is concerned. I will would be asking for $60 and you cover the shipping. Whatever that may be. Where are you located?
No one suggested RUU?
I suggest RUU.
If you haven't tried it yet, plug in your phone to a PC, run the RUU in Windows. Find said RUU, well Mecha Centre lol some of you probably saw that coming.

No there is not at this moment.. sad to say.. There is one option but it might cost you about a $100.. You could look online for a 4.1.2 motherboard for i605, the specific model.. it very simple to swap out..took me only about 15 mind and I have never done it before..
