Hey guys, I'm currently running Miui and since a couple of months ago I completely lost the ability to copy and paste text.
The clipboard is still present but I am unable to paste the copied text, there is no paste option at all.
Logcat says unable to obtain Clipboard service.
What should I do?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
go to /data/clipboard there you should select and delete all files.
a reboot may be needed.

Is there any way to get the battery and data manager setting back on eclipse .6 (not remix)? I love this rom and it has probably been the best one yet. I just need to be able to turn my roaming on so I can at least get some signal. Lol.
Anyone know of a zip that I can just flash?
Wut do?

Download remix or an earlier version of eclipse that had the file, copy it to your data folder on your device and set permissions.
I true doing that before, but how dining set permissions?

Use a file manager, like root explorer

No, I mean like, how would I do it? Like, I know how to get the thing up to change permissions, but what would I change them to? Like, how would i know what to set permissions to?

this should help you out yondercomesthetrain, I apparently haven't been a member long enough to post a link so ill write it out for ya
this is a step by step on how to set permissions using root explorer
-follow what sakth said and download the earlier version that file or files, and put it/them on your sd card of your phone, and unmount from your computer
-then download root explorer if you haven't already and install, otherwise open the app
-navigate to sdcard in root explorer, copy the file that your put on your sd card earlier
-navigate to the data folder of your system, and click mount r/w, and then paste
-look for the new file you just pasted in system/data, and do a long press on the file untill a window pops up
-Select Permissions, and change them to rw-r–r–
-follow the same directions if there are multiple files that need to be copied and and have permissions changed
hope that helps ya out
Dude, thank you so much for the step by step. It took a little trial and error for me to get it all down together, but your directions really helped me out a lot. but now I have the Battery and Data manager setting again. Again, thank you so much. You have been a huge help. If I wasn't using tapatalk, I would use the thank you button. As a matter of fact, I might just thank you when I get to a computer. You made my day.

Ohh, my mistake.
Hi,
Earlier today I installed CM10 on my phone and so far it's been absolutely fantastic! Very happy with it
One small problem I have is that I've downloaded some themes which go to storage/emulated/0/download (along with all of my downloads when I was on stock) - but I cannot access them? It says my download folder is empty - any ideas please?
Thanks

Thanks! I've just tried that using ES and couldn't find anything, so plugged it into my PC
Computer\GT-I9300\Internal storage\data\media does not exist
Computer\GT-I9300\Internal storage\Downloads is full of my downloads
So that looks kinda correct. However under settings, then Internal Storage, then Downloads... it's empty

it's not supposed to. your internal storage IS /data/media. and it won't work from the PC

Thank you, I've followed the instructions for ES and found my files, I also have them in /sdcard/downloads
The problem is, if I go to downloads (or downloads via the storage menu) it just says "No downloads"
Any ideas what I could be doing wrong please?
Its not screwed.
Download app only records new downloads afaik? It wont pick up old ones that it didn't download itself.
Would need specific error logs from /cache/recovery to even start to troubleshoot recovery issues but its nothing to do with this anyway
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Your downloaded files are sometimes stored in the "Files" folder. Once there, open the "Downloads" folder and it should be there
Emulated/0 is the "new" way to access the internal storage. It was added for an extra layer of permission protection. It stops apps misbehaving behind your back.

Go to the My Files folder. Click All. Click Download folder. There are all the files downloaded from emails.

Have you enabled the permissions for storage in app manager?.
Have you encrypted the folder?.
Have you tried developer settings and enabling root?.
I have no idea why you've changed from stock to a custom rom. That's like trading money for dust..

I am currently using an AT&T HTC One with the GPe ROM on it. I sideloaded the CM10.1 Messaging apk and moved it into system/apps.
My only issue is, even I turn on Emoji's, I can receive them but the smiley face next to where you enter text (to access the Eomji's) is strangely missing. Any idea why?
EDIT: I suppose it was an incomplete apk. I downloaded one from someone else and my issue was fixed.

Here's what I did, it worked perfectly.
1. Sideload the CM10 app (Google it, easy to find the apk)
2. Download Root Explorer
3. Within Root Explorer, find system/app
4. Rename "Mms.apk" to "Mms.apk1"
5. Rename "Mms.odex" to "Mms.odex1"
6. Go to your downloads and find the CM10 Mms.apk file and copy/move it into system/apps
7. Set permissions
8. Restart device and you're good to go!
So, long story short I rooted my phone with the sole intention of getting rid of bloatware... I did that, and along with it deleted something I now regret. I deleted the file that allows you to choose live wallpapers(along with the wallpapers themselves.) Is there anyway for me to get this back without having to lose my phones current state? Thank you in advance.

It's not allowing me to install it! Whenever I go to install it on my phone, it says the install fails.
Have you checked Install From Unknown Sources? I think it's under security options.

If you are trying to replace a system app, you probably need to push it to system and set permissions as rw- r-- r--. Many system apps will not install.
Thank you sir. I knew there was something I was forgetting.

How do I go about doing that? I appreciate the help you guys are giving me.
You need a root level file browser app like ES File Explorer or Root Explorer. Navigate to where you have the file on your phone (I recommend putting it somewhere easy to find like Downloads folder), copy the apk (long press, select Copy). Go to the root of your phone. It's named / just that symbol. Then scroll down to system, tap that. Then tap app. Inside the /system/app folder paste the apk. Depending on which file browser you have, you change permissions differently.

Mount system as RW. Default is RO (Read Only as opposed to Read Write).

Sometimes we can use them by copying apk to data folder. Just copy the apk file to "/data/app folder and sey the permission. And reboot.

Hi very_lie, need specifics, what method are you using- ADB? Are you rooted? What app- is it compatible with your device, app store(play/aptoide) will tell you yea or nay. Assuming you are rooted, use a good file manager, go into settings of the file manager, give it root permissions, and change mount system folders to writable, they will be read only originally. Find out where the app needs to go. For example, earlier today, I replaced talkback app because the version that came with custom ROM force closed. Google came out with an update recently that works for me. In file explorer, went to /system/app to find out what its called- talkback.apk. Downloaded v. 3.5 from aptoide(be careful), renamed it talkback.apk. go to /system/app, deleted older talkback.apk, go to data/dalvic cache and delete system @ app @ talkback.apk @ classes.dex Took renamed apk, copied it(from sd), just long press on the file and options come up, select copy. Navigated to /system/app and paste it there. Reset permissions, again long press hit permissions, will probably at rw-rw-rw, change to rw-r--r-- read write, read, read. Reboot. Upon reboot, may say android is upgrading-all is good-dalvic cache is building. Now with certain apps you will want to delete its data- in /data/data. For this app didn't need to. Also some apps can't be put in /system/app. On my phone HTC Evo 3d, ones like facebook, Twitter, translate and other google app can. Ones like Skype n dropbox cannot- they forced closed and can cause others to misbehave. So open up your app n see if it works. Go back into file manager, /data/data and make sure your app's permissions are rwxr-xr-x. Hope this helps, follow this same format when putting"forcing" app on data partition- /data/app

I've got a old version of APK editor pro , that I can use . Version 1.00 to bypass any install errors .. don't ask me how to get it though. Regards
Of course I could also have flash stock firmware again but I needed a simple solution to use the media I had available at that moment, only two Note 8 (mine and my wife's to extract the apk) and little 3g signal (when I had) to find a solution.
I appreciate the recommendations after having solved the problem but the object of my post was to thank for the help, the rest are anecdotes.
