Hi,
Contributors, mods, clueless noobs (reason we have stickies ) I'd like to thank everybody for freeing up the evil clutches of monopolistic telephony carriers & generally removing limits on droid os'es.
Thank u x muliple # of devices rooted/hacked for my clueless inlaws too.
Q: Is it possible to use a paid app/game on multiple devices (i.e. if the Goog account is associated w/ the device? ) im aware of drm when it comes to movies, etc.. Also, does anyone know if it works across different type of devices (i.e. galaxy s2 fone, galaxy tablet, wifi + 4g models)
there are some fav apps that i use across multiple devices like rom manager, vlc direct pro, ti backup, etc and while i don't wish to sound like a total leech, i'd like them to use across different devices while supporting the developers & reducing tco.
RANT: I just tried to purchase an app from Google Play today & since my old credit card expired, i used a different one. And the purchase declined & prompted me to provide PROOF'S of identity. That's right, more than one!! First I scanned a utility bill w/ an address showing, but that wasn't enough, they also needed a validated ID (passport, drivers licence, state issued id, etc).
I mean HOW MUCH BIG BROTHER do they wish to get??? wtf!!! & it was just for a $5.xx purchase, if i wanted to make an unauthorized purchase, i'd be shopping for jewelry or somewhere else!!
... k, im done ranting... for now...
p.s. they also stated, if i refused to provide such info that they would disable or disassociate my account (i forget), so i just said fekkit... lets see what happens to my associated acct w/ the device. btw, there were sufficient funds on the card.
Could you please use a bigger font, the people across the street couldn't quite read my monitor?
...and maybe to help with the GP issue, try going into your google wallet (online via PC) and deleting the expired credit card. It appears that having an expired card, and an un-expired card on the same account is causing all kinds of issues.
I was asked to confirm the phone number of the phone from which I was purchasing the apps.... uh what, really?
Hope this helps,
AoN

Got 3tablets and 2 phones all on one account. No issues except all the free crapps my son downloads that muck up the my apps section on google play store...
UPDATE: I've confirmed this to work using:
1 primary account associated w/ more than one device (same model phone & diff model tab) - In otherwords, use 1 Google account for setting up your device for same model or diff model & you can install apps you have purchased on more than one device.
secondary acct: keep ur existing gmail acct associated w/ the device AND simply add the acct u used for paying for G.Play Apps. In otherwords, keep a unique gmail acct for different devices, but use or ADD a common gmail acct for purchasing apps from Google Play. Remember to set account to the paid gmail address while you're at the Google Play (market)
Here's hoping Goog.Play wont change the rules & be like Micro$haft requiring software activations... on INDIVIDUAL devices
so those w/ multiple android devices, go out there & purchase apps u've always wanted... u'll get ur moneys worth...

thx for ur input/feedback, good value4money!! myapps section lists also the useless junk that came w/ att that had been uninstalled. it'd be nice to be able to modify the list.
but how do i do this on my nexus 7?
I got my wife a Nexus 7 but I own a bunch of apps in Google Play. How can she get them on her device? She has her own google email address and I have mine.

hi guys , i need to track my kids via a software on their mobile phone but i want this software to work silently ,, i donot want them to know they are being tracked ,,, i tried instamapper on my phone to test it and it is perfect but it is on the application menu and appears in notification bar
i want something like it to work silently and enables me to activate GPS via web command if inactive and donot appear on app. menu and to be controlled via web account other than their google account as i tried samsung dive and i donot know their google password they both have samsung galaxy s II
Nobody who wants to secretly track their children without their knowledge should really have children in the first place... It's also a massive breach of their privacy.

There are many good parrents that would like software like that. but the
Obviously themabda don't have kids, at least not teenagers. Responsible parrents don't let their kids run loose. Being a kid means testing your boundaries. As for the software I would like something similar. So far I havent found one. I did see one for rooted devices but still haven't been able to locate it again. It's somewhere on this fourm. I'll keep looking. It would be useful for locating a lost or stolen device also. The one I found before could turn on the cameras and record audio along with many other features.
As far as an invasion of privicy: As long as I pay for the devices and service I have no hesitation to track equipment that I own, no matter who is using it. If they want privicy let them buy their own. Of course if you're not doing something wrong why feel like you have to hide it?

I'm hoping some clever dev can get an app that can do this. I know there was one for WP7.
The fact that the Kindle can't lock but Nokia Reading can, is quite irritating!!
I'm ready to buy this app even if it is going to be 20 dollar. Damn I need it! Waiting for devs to help.
WPH posted a video showing that he could sideload his wp7 apps on the wp8 emulator, and he demonstrated using the orientation lock app he made for wp7.
I had this really nice voice to text app that would give you the option to send the spoken text to Twitter or any email account . It was amazing for using in the car AT RED LIGHTS.
I no longer see it in the market place but have it on my old Focus. I want to put it on my new Focus S.
Is there a way to do this?
Of course if your focus is unlocked and focus s at least developer unlock.
If so, install Program Manager on ur old focus and make xap with it any app you want and then just copy it to your pc and now it depends on what unlock you have on your focus s so that way you run through, if developer unlock you install xap to your new phone with some kind of Microsoft app. Development kit or sth like this, I'm on phone now so you can easier search for it

Hi,
I want to try the app on my nokia lumia 520, my phone is dev unlocked, but i can't find the Nokia Beamer xap. Can anyone help me?
Thank you,
Medve
Nokia Photo Beamer is on Nokia market.
Nokia Photo Beamer: http://www.windowsphone.com/pl-pl/store/app/photobeamer/971c41e5-3596-4a7a-ba2c-bcd7780d7db5
Nokia Beamer: http://www.windowsphone.com/pl-pl/store/app/nokia-beamer/b5511af6-cbd0-4945-9bf6-30cf0582043f
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Nokia Beamer only works on devices with 1 GB of RAM or higher. Those devices get Nokia Beamer automatically with the Lumia Black update or, in the case of newer devices with Lumia Black, ship with it installed by default.
Thanks,
Yes, you know correctly, but i want to try It, but the Lumia 520's got only 512mb RAM. I heard if i Dev. Unlock my Phone, I can install aps, wich need more Power. I downloaded the XAP from the Marketplace, but it's encrypted, and the SDK app deployment won't deploy to my Phone. So I need the decrypted XAP, or maybe an another method. Can anyone upload the decrypted XAP( if you downloaded the Nokia Beamer from the Marketplace, It Will be on your Phone.) or write an another method?
OR any alternative instead?
Thank you,
Medve

Dev unlock only allows you to sideload apps that use tier 3 capabilities (which is the same as most of the apps published in the store), so you gain nothing in terms of "power", just the ability to sideload homemade apps.

We can't just pull decrypted XAPs from our phones... You need interop unlock for that (and possibly more), and so far that's only achieved on Samsung phones. Your best chance is to get someone with an unlocked Samsung device to install Beamer by using the proxy trick, then posting the XAP so you can sideload. But be aware this can potentially create new issues - it's an OEM app, so it probably uses capabilities not covered by dev unlock (which means you won't be able to sideload).
Or you can just try the proxy trick yourself. Change the device model to something with 1GB and it should be available for download.

Thanks, but can you help me with? I'm New in WP, I've got android before.
Thank you,

Do a google search on how to trick the store into thinking you own a different device than you actually do. The tutorial may even be on this forum, so have a look around...
Quite possible that it still checks for the RAM requirement when it's launched, even if you manage to install it.
Even when people run games like Temple Run 2 on 512 MB RAM devices, sideloaded, the XAP needs to be modified and have that check removed, or they will not launch, as far as I know. No idea on how this is done or even how the people who do this get their hands on decrypted XAPs, though.

Yeah, that's quite possible. But there's really no way of knowing without trying...
Thanks for the help
I found 2 proxy servers, but they are unavalibe. Are you know working proxy servers?
I heard if the phone dont't have the minimum amount of RAM, I can't install the app with proxy trick. It is true?
Thank you,
Medve

You can use fiddler to set up your own computer as a proxy...
IIRC the store doesn't specifically check for the amount of RAM the device has, only model, firmware and OS version, etc. and then makes conclusions based on that. So if you tell the store you have, say a 1520 instead of the 520, the store will assume your phone has 2 GB of RAM.

So I tried to find any videos and writings about proxy servers, but I didn't found. Can you link me a video or write a guide?

Can't install Lumia beamer on my 822.
Is there a way to sideload it?
