Since we're stuck on ICS for now and the clock that comes with the device doesn't support 3rd party launchers, I thought I'd share Clock JB. Used this on every ICS device I've played with. Has all the functionality (in the paid version) of the stock 4.2 clock as well as a some added things. Like using a digital clock widget and customizing the colors.
I take no credit for this app. I am in no way affiliated with the developer.

I just want the Touchwiz clock as the alarm on that is the best I've ever had. I've tried a bunch of other alarms and can't find one with the "Smart Alarm" feature the TW one has. I did find someone who had ported over the .apk and have installed it, but even though it says I can change the alarm tone, it stays on the same annoying one. So for now I use my old GS2 as my alarm, ha ha.
I love Clock JB lol. It does err'ythang!

Hi guys,
I'm trying to get a perfect weather + clock/alarm widget for me. I've been using Fancy Widget for a while, it works fine for me (I can see weather info, I can see time, I can see when the next alarm rings), except there's no direct access to Alarm for it brings me to clock setting instead (and I need another tap to go to alarm).
I've looked at Beautiful Widget, but a bit hesitant to buy it due to some battery drain comments. Does Beautiful Widget drains battery significantly on Arcs? Can it access alarm directly from the widget?
Thank you In Advance.
Give GO Weather a go (pun very much intended) ... Been using it & it's quietly elegant.

Hmm... I still can't go to alarm directly from the widget. Or will it always be like that until I install 3rd party alarm app?
I'm using beautiful widgets and having no issue at all with battery life. Very happy with it.

Can it access stock alarm directly like the stock clock widget when you tap it ?
If it's not possible, I probably would just stick with the fancy widget.
Your could do that in the past, (asigning whatever app you like to different areas of the beautifull widget)
i have not used it for 6 months thou.

Does use automatic Geolocation?
I'm currently running beautiful widget and i'm quite happy with it...
Best weather widget IMO is snowstorm. Small, elegant, customisable, skinnable. Updates based on location. Accurate forecasts.
Decent digital clocks are a problem, though - most of them are pretty ugly looking to me. Quite like the small sony one that's built-in, if only it opened the clock/alarm apps when you clicked it...
+1 for snowstorm
For the clock use "glass widgets" which will allow you to choose which app to launch once you have clicked it

I love the super clock in have but I wonder if either beautiful widgets has a clock with the numbers that flip (like old clocks)
If not anyone knows where I can get a clock like that? I show a pic of my home screen hopefully I can get something similar but with the flipping animation, thanks

If you mean just the retro digital clock where the numbers flip (but animation is minimal, it's more the way it looks), then beautiful widgets has them. They came out primarily with HTC models when Gingerbread had just been released.
If you open the skins tab in BW superclock settings and select tab (don't know which one, but it accesses the skin/share exchange or whatever). You can tell it's the right page because each skin will state how many times it's been downloaded.
For the skin you are looking for, you may have to scroll down for a bit (and let the app load more choices) since this skin debuted maybe 18 months ago or more. But I know the basic black and a bunch of others like it are there. Look for the keyword "gingerbread" or just "ginger"...that might help.

are u talking about this type of clock, see attach?
i have beautiful widgets and i downloaded this skin to show you if this is what your looking for.
No...That's not it. Close though.. it looks like the HTC standard clock.
Here is a version of it. (I don't think any of these are the actual stock HTC clock since that was part of HTC's own desk clock/alarm, and not Beautiful Widgets.
You can tell it's the retro one because of the recessed middle which, if this was an analog clock, was attached to the "hinge" allowing the top portion to fall down revealing the next number.
This clock was actually under "featured skins" and I didn't have to scroll at all as it was on the first page.

ah i get u.
they have those kind of clocks in beautiful widgets. u would be able to download the skin called "sense v4.1" and a bunch of other versions of the clock with the 'recessed' line.
Thanks bro, I really love the look of them but I'm looking for the full animation, I would really like if it would actually flip every time it changes. Suggestions?

If I recall the discussions correctly from my old HTC phone, beautiful widgets used to have the animations like the Sense widget, however they were ordered to remove them as it infringed on copyrights HTC had on the animation. Or something like that. So, you wont get the animations exactly like the sense widget unless you have an HTC Sense phone. I believe the Miui Roms have the flip animations on one of their clocks, maybe they have a skin to make it look like the Sense widget.
I think the animation is pretty close. It's not like BW designers were copying something original like a new design. It's a 35 year old clock.. I will have to look up that dispute. Or at least I will launch my HTC clock and see if it is any different BW.

Guys I've purchased a New S3, and what I've noticed is that the stock default clock widget doesnt refresh automatically on unlock. So there is always a difference in the notification bar time and the widget time. Only when I click on the widget it updates after opening alarm. What the hell is wrong with my phone?:crying::crying::crying::crying:
Are you using a task killer? If so, ignore it in the task killer.

i have the same problem , no task killer
stock rom , siyah kernel
It used to work i don't know what happened i didn't change anything
Same. Didnt change anything. also no taskkiller installed...persistant issue.
Same issue here and I've tried Go Launcher/Apex with Beautiful Widget/Fancy Widget/Beweather Pro.
An unbelievable phone (knocks spots off of anything I've ever had) yet it can't tell the bloody time properly - really annoying!!!!
A quick fix is put it in landscape to redraw/refresh the screen to update the clock when I've brought the phone out of sleep. Not ideal, but at least the clock is updated. Maybe the JB update will fix this issue? Who knows!
The only widget I can get to work properly is the native weather clock. I don't want such a big widget so I've tried several different other clock widgets and they won't keep the correct time. I wish someone would find out what the problem is. I like the clocks in Beautiful Widgets, but they won't update.
I'm hoping you guys can help me out. This is my first non-nexus device. Is there a way to get the One's stock clock app to show the time on the screen just like a bedside alarm clock (like you could with stock android clock)? I've tried every setting I can find on One's stock clock but I can't figure it out. I hope I'm just a new Sense fool that's missing something. If I have to go the third party app route, is there one that will display on the screen all night without timing out and can be dimmed like the stock android clock? Thanks for your help.
Oh my gosh!! I can't believe no one answered your question. LoL!! Here's one that I used to use on my E4GT. This is the free version. The paid is $3. Don't know if I can justify $3 for this app. =.P
If all comes to worst, you can always just extract the stock Clock from a Nexus ROM.

Hello i am having a REALLY hard time setting up my new rom (foxhound 2.7 on my i9300).
Here is the deal: i like samsung's stock widgets. I like the flashlight and i like the turn off all sounds. But on the launcher i want to use for the rest of my (phone's) life, doesn't see them. In fact there are some launchers that do not see all system widgets.
These widgets i speak of are built in my rom, so please don't mention touchwiz, it has nothing to do with this and i CAN apply these widgets to holo launcher hd (for example) and others.
There are many workaorunds for the flashlight widget, and i can learn to live without all other stock widgets of samsung. But i have never found a better "turn off all sounds" feature than samsungs widget. Now i assume i could send a report to go launcher ex dev team and wait forever for them to not fix this problem, or i could find a solution.
What i need is the experience of you guys, please: i need to find a widget that can link to other existing ones in the phone and act as them, and hopefully go launcher ex will allow me to use this widget.
I do not intend to change launcher, but if anyone can offer a VALID alternative to that launcher (it doesn't just lower all sounds to 0, it completely disables the phone sound output. THIS is what i'm looking for, hopefully in a widget but even if not it's fine).
Many app out there claim to be able to mute all sounds, but not as efficiently as this samsung stock widget, please help:banghead:

Just to give you an option: you could create a Tasker task and widget button to turn off all sounds.
Sent from my Nexus 7 (2013)
Thanks. I know i could probably figure out how to do this some way, but tasker is a very detailed app, if you already know how to do this would you mind giving me guided steps?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Alright i got some 2 raw widgets working, but no matter what action i choose with tasker (in the sound section) i do not get the turn off all sounds effect just like in the samsung widget.
???
And i didnt find any option to enable another widget....any help?
