Xperia is turning off - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I got a sony ericsson x10 which is not rooted yet. The problem is normally the phone runs well but when I turn on the internet connection and try to browse or download anything the phone is either shutting down or getting restart! Can anyone help me how I can overcome this problem? And what the exact problem is?

Yes, I have this problem and will surely return the phone... It's very annoying and I should put down the phone for 15min until it works again...
In fact, we bought two Mini's and both have the problem.
We are in Belgium

If you have root, you can run THIS script and everything'll be fine
Thanks for your answer!
Phones are not rooted and I don't intend to root them...
Will return them to the shop and get a new one. I hope this will solve the problem.
Screen lightly flashing is normal, light sensor is changing the brightness.
I don't understand what you mean with overcharged. Battery cannot be overcharged.

You are right... The phone cannot overcharge... but when it becomes warm the problems start...
The moment I use the phone for - let's say 10-15min - it becomes unresponsive. The screen pop-up menus start flashing (appear - disappear) and I just have to switch off the screen and wait 10-15min before I can use it again but not for long...
I haven't searched in any other forum but I read about a guy who had the same problem and he received a new Mini...
So as soon as we are back in Belgium I will change both our Mini's.

This isn't an overcharge problem, from what you've said anyway. If it was an overcharge/overheating problem it would show up as soon as you use the phone?
I had an old LG Chocolate. One of the first heat sensor touch button phones and that had the problem of when the phone got too hot (either sitting in the sun too long or on charge too long in a warm room) it would start jumping around the menus and all that, I couldn't work the phone without cooling the touch buttons down. It happened as soon as I unlocked the phone, sometimes i even think it was trying to do things even when it was locked.
So the fact that it happens 10-15min after stated using, leads me to believe it is something else. Does anyone else agree with me, or am I completely off base??
Cheers,
Evil.
Thank you all...
I think i better consider again to buy the phone....

Xperia active randomly rebooting

Hi guys sorry to bother but there's an annoing issue going on:
_the phone: rooted xperia active, stock 2.3 with .62 fw and 2.9 rage kernel.
_the issue: when inactive, phone randomly reeboots, mostly when in pocket [never while using so far].All started a few days ago after installing a few new apps,i pulled the phone out of pocket and it was booted in temporary debugging mode.i rebooted and all the widgets went bananas.replaced them, and since every time i take it out of pocket it's askin for pincode.never rebooted overnight while chargin!also the calendar app would crash every launch.
_Solutions attempted; wipe data/cache and dalvik.uninstalled one of the above apps(it had root access, the other 2 are games…)and the semc.calendar.nothing worked…also i am experiencing major unusual batt drainage...
Any help will be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Probably one of your newly installed app goes haywire.
Is there a log where i can see what is causing the reboot?i haven't done backup for a couple weeks and wold like to solve the exact issue without full wipe and recovery backup...the apps i didnt uninstall are popular (alchemy, doors and a.b.space)could it be one of these?ran virus check, only a trojan in winamp but pretty sure it's a fake positive...

I have the same problem with my xperia mini pro sk17i on stock firmware 4.0.4 from sony. I update my phone few times with OTA and Flashtool and thats don't helps.
Now I have rom Icshybrom v2 and all works perfectly.
I also did ics update last week but reverted back to gb the next day,i don't think the rom or krnl have anything to do,phone worked fine up to 2 days ago!

Little update:uninstalled all recent apps, the problem remains...if one of the apps was faulty wouldn't the phone reboot also when using it?it ALWAYS happens when in idle!this morning i unplugged the phone from charger, put it in pocket and 2minutes later was rebooted with battery at 91%!(no usage at all!checked 4 missed calls and sms and that's it).yesterday it rebooted twice and then was fine for 12hrs,sometimes it does it 4 times in 1hr,it's completely random, just never happens when using the phone...

Maybe there is something in your pocket that makes your phone randomly rebooting...try to leave it on a desk for a few hours to test it whether it is rebooting or not
XDA Premium sent this message from owner of Sk17i
I thought it could be a hw issue, but i slammed, shook and pressed hard all over and no probs,i even added a lil piece of paper to completely block the battery, but to no avail...could it be that these days i'm in a place with no 2g signal at all?faulty sim card(it's 10yrs old)?i looked all over and there's tons of people reporting this problem but all posts end with no solution.it rebooted also when laying on the table, never on charge!as soon as i disconnect from pwr poof!this morning had 4 reboots in 30mins,yesterday only two throughout the whole day....

Well i already hear about restart by bad sim card. If it really so old can you try your mobile with another?
Sent from my ST15i using XDA
It seems like it's the most plausible thing,i'll try and report.what about it happening mostly when there's no signal?could it be something in the phone tryin to force connection?is there anyway to get a reboot log?i found an app but it's all in jap...

Ok after a few days of investigations i can now affirm that the rebooting occurs 99.9% of the time when there's no signal at all. I'll try with a new sim card and see how that goes

Hello.
My name is Jacek and i'm from Poland. First of all sorry for my english
So....
I had purchased Sony Xperia P on 6th march 2013. After two days i started to have problems with the touchscreen.
After unlock with the button on the right side of my Xperia, touchscreen did not react/respond.
This fault was very disturbing.
I tried to fix it by PC Companion, but it doesn't works. After 6 days i gave my phone to repair.
After five days local Sony Service Centre gave my my phone with the note, that they installed new software (the same software as i had before i gave my phone to repair) and that the specification of my Xperia is consistent wit Sony guidelines.
Today is third day i recive my phone from Sony Service. My Xperia still doesn't work. Touchscreen don't respond i cannot do anything with my phone. It is very, very annoying. I will add, that after repair i cannot restore my settings and data with PC Companion.
What should i do? Thanks for any help.
Change network to 3g/ wcdma only ans see if it works

I cannot do this because in my localization 3G is not available.
I had the same problem, only solution was new touchscreen, it is a know issue with Xperia P, lots of similar cases in Sony's official forum as well.
They will always tell you to restore your phone with PC Companion but that will not help I your touchscreen is faulty.

[Q] Xperia go SIM card problem pls help

Hi guys,
Recently bought the xperia go worked fine for about 3 and a half weeks when i suddenly noticed while in work the phone was off so i thought i probably turned it off in my pocket.
Turned it back on but didn't bother 2 check put it back in pocket as i was busy.... few minutes later checked back on it phone off again!
Proceeded to turn it back on and waited, i noticed as soon as the phone got service from the SIM card it turned off.
Tried and tried to no avail..... eventually took out the SIM and tried another same problem then tried in airplane mode it worked tried without SIM in it worked.
Only when SIM is inserted and gets service this problem it happens.
So i flashed it over worked for at least an hour then got back same problem.
Has anyone ever had this problem? I Googled every possible keyword nothing comes up with this problem which is why i decided to post.....
Posted video to youtube:

[Q] Slow wifi

Hey guys I just picked up the Z2 the other day and I'm loving it but I'm having an issue with the wifi, it's really slow. (about 2mbs when it should be about 30mb) However the issue goes every time I turn the wifi on the phone off and on again. I'm sure it's just the phone as well as I have other devices connected to the router which run at the correct speed and I've tried resetting the router as well as forgetting the network on the phone but still the problem persists, anyone else found this problem with their device and found a solution?
Ive ran into the same issue with my Z2 and S
I found that after purchasing my xperia s i ran into this issue , after a few months it fixed its self
This could be because the device needs a run in or the firmware
Id recomend waiting a tiny bit to see if updates will fix this issue
Im waiting for my actual Z2 to come so i can conform this, for now im stuck with a dev device between me and someone else
Id also recomend googling about this as many people have this issue and it seems to be a firmware issue over a device or hardware issue

I just went to settings-backup and reset-factory data reset, I'm not sure I can recommend this method any more though as I've noticed my wifi speeds have dropped again today and yesterday. I'll keep a close eye on the issue though
