[Q] Slow wifi - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys I just picked up the Z2 the other day and I'm loving it but I'm having an issue with the wifi, it's really slow. (about 2mbs when it should be about 30mb) However the issue goes every time I turn the wifi on the phone off and on again. I'm sure it's just the phone as well as I have other devices connected to the router which run at the correct speed and I've tried resetting the router as well as forgetting the network on the phone but still the problem persists, anyone else found this problem with their device and found a solution?

Ive ran into the same issue with my Z2 and S
I found that after purchasing my xperia s i ran into this issue , after a few months it fixed its self
This could be because the device needs a run in or the firmware
Id recomend waiting a tiny bit to see if updates will fix this issue
Im waiting for my actual Z2 to come so i can conform this, for now im stuck with a dev device between me and someone else
Id also recomend googling about this as many people have this issue and it seems to be a firmware issue over a device or hardware issue

I just went to settings-backup and reset-factory data reset, I'm not sure I can recommend this method any more though as I've noticed my wifi speeds have dropped again today and yesterday. I'll keep a close eye on the issue though

Anyone experienced slow charging on the leaks??

I have had the same problem with every leak so far. After install.. its ok for a day. But then I charge at night and it's so slow charging that it's not at 100% by the morning.
This is only the start of the issue.. with all the leaks.. this happens, and then WiFi seems to be really unreliable. Showing poor signal and losing connection even tho I'm right next to the router.
After the WiFi starts playing up.. next thing that goes is the keyboard... registering touches on the wrong keys etc.
This has happened to me on EVERY leak so far. It messes with my phone so much that a flash back to stock doesn't work. Only a full flash with a .pit file wipes all the errors.
I hope Sammy know of these issues. Because my phone is really hating their leaks so far
Anyone else experienced any similar issues?? Would love to hear of a fix.

No problems basically JB has now replaced ICS for me .
jje
I havnt had any problems while charging even while heavy usage like tethering or gaming.
Currently using LI7 soon to be LI8

I've been using DLI6 for a few days, no problems so far.-
Thanks for the replies.
I think it's probably a hardware thing.. but as it doesn't happen on ICS I guess I'm going to have to wait for the official ota to see if it still happens.
I hope not.. because the phone will have to be sent back.

No probs for me on the JB leaks. It's quite the opposite for me, pretty rapid charging i'm finding.

i am also facing all the problems u posted...for keyboard thing u can try clearing cache from recovery,it should be fine then!
Try deactivating Media Scanner.
It was causing a huge battery drain.
The only issue i faced in DLI7 leak.

Finally someone facing the same issues.
It just makes me feel more confident this is an error that will be sorted with the official ota.

Lumia 920 Freezing - Any fix for this?

So I've only had my Lumia for 5 days but from day one it's been randomly freezing no matter what I'm doing, be it texting, web surfing, anything. I downloaded the software update and the problem persists. It happens several times per day and I have to soft reset which erases some of my settings, its totally annoying. Is there a fix for this or do I have a defective device?
Try a hard reset which unfortunately will wipe everything from your phone back to factory settings, If problem still persists then you definitely have a faulty device and should return it.
Set your highest data setting to 3G. This will disable LTE but for me it seems to solve the problem. Let me know if this works for you.

Sorry...disabling one of the best features of your phone to get it to work correctly is not solving the problem. You have a defective unit plane and simple

Yeah I'm sending it back tomorrow lol. I was just thinking the same thing. Nokia wanted me to remove skype cause they said that was causing it, then they said the facebook app was causing it. It's like ok, I have to disable Facebook, Skype, and IM+ to get it to work? What's the point of this damn phone? lol. Yeah my device is defective.

I know for a fact my device isn't defective because mine didn't start freezing until the portico update.

You missed my point. Disabling any stock feature of the phone to get it work properly is not a "fix", it's a bandaid. I stand by my statement...defective. Whether it be the hardware or software...still defective.

If you have a sim card that does not support LTE then yes it is a fix. However. I have also installed the portico update, 4G disabled and the phone went from never rebooting or freezing to reboot 2-3 times a day and at least 1 freeze.

Xperia is turning off

I got a sony ericsson x10 which is not rooted yet. The problem is normally the phone runs well but when I turn on the internet connection and try to browse or download anything the phone is either shutting down or getting restart! Can anyone help me how I can overcome this problem? And what the exact problem is?

Camera shutdown and other...

Couple of questions... I tried to take a small video and then a picture and my camera shut down immediately. Has anyone seen this behavior? The software said that the phone was too hot, but I didn't feel it overheating.
Next, battery life is much worse then the HTC m8 I am coming from.
Finally, I needed to get att LTE in the sun card and had a tough time getting that put on by the rep at the store. How do you guys get around the "Xperia phones don't get LTE crap?"

xperia devices vary
For some reason
Meaning that you have a posiblity of getting a faulty device .i recomend getting a replacement or wait to see if this is common xperia issue
LTE depends on your country , or sim provider
Battery drain may be caused by an installed app or a broken system process
I recomend getting a replacement Z2 becuause this is nowhere near normal behaivor
I've actually been able to solve all of my problems by doing a repair via PC Connection. Much of it had to be because of a rogue app.

Do you know any thing more than what this link says or what
i found recently it depends on the country its made in
i was just wondering if this is true
i also saw some issues else about CPU scaling issues aka but i don't remember what i read
good news:
most issues given can be fixed by "fixing your device" using Sony PC companion

Z2 problems

My partner has had her z2 for a couple weeks. And she has always had iPhones and me mainly androids. But she has found it hard to use at times. For some reason 3 or 4 times a day over past week it has crashed and not responded. And also turns it's self off. And while in walkman app could not select songs only way I managed to get it to work was uninstall all updates then the songs were clickable. Then upgraded again and it still worked. Any one else had similar problems? Thanks

You shouldn't be having these issues. In my experience the phone is very stable.
The only time it resets on me is when I pull the SIM card. I'm not sure why it does that because it's not necessary.... But anyway
Try doing a factory reset and all that. If there are still issues call Sony support and get the device replaced, or just do a 30 return/exchange.

Yes i had these exact issues with a defective unit, it seems that replacing the device fixed it alltogether
Take note reflashing my firmware didnt fix my problem, if it doesnt fix yours then get a replacement
