HTC Touch pro 2 FULL Housing now on EBAY (non OEM)

Just saw this on ebay...Im a fan of housing and facia. But i know %98 of TP2 owner right now dont wanna touch the Hardware section of the phone.( for customizing)
It Just nice too see that we can tweak not only whats inside but also the outside too... Im just hoping for a nice fit and high quality. Its too early to tell how good this housing is but i wanna know soon.

I also noticed that a couple days ago but they only offer red and blue right now. I'm not savy enough but I think it's a cool options
For that, did you know how to dismount the TP2 ?
Looks like not really easy to operate at first glance...
You get a screwdriver with it ... just find all the screws and replace!
wait few months... dismantling this phone will be on youtube!
I noticed those when I bought my TP2 last week... to bad they are only red and blue. I would be down for black, or maybe a nice dark green. They look nice from the photo. I don't like taking apart slider phones... PITA
The Wing wasn't so bad. I did the whole thing solo since my brother broke his screen and there weren't any dismantling guides available yet. It's easier than you think... just don't force anything and keep a sharp eye open for screws.
The only problem with swapping the case for a T-Mobile version is that you have to keep the T-Mobile keyboard. The layout is unique to T-Mobile and the HTC version (as well as other carriers) vary from model to model.

It's really easy to swap cases. I had to replace the screen on my room mates Kaiser which is a slider tilt screen device as well. Took me 40 mins tops & I had to completely disassemble it. Will probably have to again soon. He broke his screen a second time lmao. The one thing I'll note though is for T-Mobile, the whole device is different basicly. The screen does have a tappered edge & the screen cover is bigger & the battery cover is a completely different design. the Stylus doesn't go through it. So, the T-Mobile wouldn't be completely changible. As for the keyboard, that can be changed via ROM. The HTC Kaiser has a different KB Layout than the AT&T Tilt, we just install a CAB to "fix" this as the ROM's are made for the HTC version. Also, the Sprint/Verizon/AT&T(From what I read) have Headphone Jacks. You could arguably use only part of the kit, but for $80-100+, I want one completely compatible with my device.
As for Colors, there's a full silver/full black/& black & orange version available. I wish they made them available in pieces so you could mix & match parts. For example the Battery covers.
Anyone knows whether a housing is available for the european version? Mine has some ugly scratches due to close contact with the asphalt Can't find a new housing though, only bezels... I need a new grey edge around the keyboard to which the battery cover is attached aswel. Is this even possible?
Luckily, the keyboard, screen and batt cover are still intact, and the phone is still functioning properly. It is now protected by a plastic rubberized case and a screenprotector.
Help would be very welcome!
I'm thinking about giving this a try to replace the screwed up button layout that ATT provided. If I can just swap the buttons and the remap the keys with a cab file I'm thinking I can get the QWERTY keyboard back to it's original form.
Anyone else tried this?
Jon
Tried going to the link but it appears to have been "removed".....anywhere else?
This one is working for me.

Dismantling HTC Touch PRO2, HTC Rhodium in pictures...
The above dismantling link has been in the XDA-Wiki for several months now.
So what? If someone asks a question and I can help, I sure will. Or should I be an smartass and tell it's around here, use the search... Maybe it's your thing, not mine.
i'd like to try to replace the bezel on the screen-part, it's got little wholes and even a completely crushed section.. but according to the link you'll have to disassemble the whole keyboard-part in order to do that.. isnt there an easier way to replace the bezel??
just wanted to let everyone know that I have the black/blue case from ebay china. It took 3 weeks but I finally have it.
After taking apart my g1 and 90% housing conversion from white to black. I accidentally cut one of the ribbons off and broke the phone. So im a little scared to take apart this $400 phone. Didnt mind the g1 because there dirt cheap and easy to find another one.
If you all can gather some links and any guides I will probably convert my tmo tp2 to the new housing sunday mourning. unless someone can confirm that its extremly easy to switch housing.
Just an example of the g1 dissemble.

ive been modding hardware since everyone had a nextel i730. ive seen alot of crappy poorly made housings in my days. usually the first and second generation batches of housings that come out are poorly cut, or made of brittle plastics. i would advise that when looking for housings(especially for expensive devices), that you get a 3rd generation housing and look on youtube for directions.
So excited.
I am trying to covert my T-mobile touch pro 2 soon. The full housing will arrive in 2 days. I dropped my precious on the pavement.... T-mobile housing is nowhere to be found so I bit the nail. Hopefull it's going to turn out awesome

[Q] Replacement screens on ebay

Does anyone know for sure whether the replacement screens on Ebay are Gorilla Glass? They have come down in price considerably (under US$50) but I'd rather get a genuine gorilla glass one than a cheap knock off.
Cheers
Why?
Your first one was "genuine gorilla glass" and its broken.
So why get the same one.. IMO the ebay screens are just as good. I have one on my streak. (first screen starting bleeding and dell says not their fault... Go figure. ((after much *****ing they sent me a new phone. Its still sitting unopened in my closet. Lol.))
And at under 50$ (paid 90$ for mine) you dont have much to lose. While your at it you might as well stick a 4gb micro sd in place of the one in it.
Sent from my Dell Streak using Tapatalk
Yeah I guess at that price it doesn't really matter. I actually haven't broken glass, funny/embarrassing story, I had some chocolate that melted in my bag where my phone was and some of it got into the socket so I cleaned it out as best I could but there was still some residue in there so I decided to spray some contact cleaner in there to flush out anything left and it worked well. That is until I turned on my phone and saw that contact cleaner and chocolate got sprayed in between the lcd and the glass!
So now whenever I'm trying to view a web page or anything white I can see a brown smudge under the glass. Not particularly good when you're trying to show off your phone to people ha ha
I was thinking of replacing the internal SD, really want to put in a 16/32gb card but seems like it's too much trouble. Would the Kingston class 10 4GB be compatible?
I can't believe they went down to $56. I bought one 2 weeks ago for $86
Mine looked identical to the original.
The max card for internal is 4gb. Class 10 is just fine. I installed one just this past weekend.

Awesome, so do I basically just take out the old one, put the new one in and just install 1.9 again?
Then just use Backup & Restore? Are there any backup programs that will backup my app installs so that I dont need to download them again from the store?

Search for "Nandroid Backup" and wade through the million hits until you find a set of instructions you can follow. I'm not trying to be a "search is your friend" jerk, but there are many instructionals out there and I have not personally tried them yet so I can't recommend a good one to you.
Have a look at this thread over at Modaco;

You will find good info about replacing the internal memory

[Q] Any Ideas On How To Cover Chips on the phone?

I dropped my phone and now I have a few chips on the edges. At first to cover them up I would color over them with a permanent marker, looked great. You would never know it had any chips. But the maker fades off after a few days. Does anyone know any better ways to cover the chips? Besides getting a case since I love the way the bare phone looks. Thanks!
A case.
Via My HTC Evo 3D On The Now Network From Sprint.
I've always had mine in a case and I've lost soo much paint it's not even funny. I've been considering sanding it down so it's nice a silver on the front.
Ghost armor, but for bare phone...you don't have options that are very good or don't require amazing ability or way too much effort. My advice would be to do what I did. I actually had a scratch and leak of liquid crystal. I bought the housing, LCD, glass + digitizer, all in one piece. 49 dollars on Ebay in mint condition. There are plenty of tear down guides out there and videos that make the motherboard swap real easy and safe. You could buy just the housing for even cheaper and the repair would be even easier. Your phone will then be in mint condition again.

Broken lcd

i have a dell streak 5 and i droppedd it off my bed, the lcd is broke in the top corner and its leaked.
phone is unlocked running longhorn 2.01 and works perfect, no glass damage, just the lcd, and i cant be bothered, it has also been modified with an internal 8gig card instead of 2gig.
My question is, i dont want to pay to replace the lcd and im not bothered, upgraded to a galaxy s2, so, in its current working condition, unlocked and just a broken lcd, HOW MUCH is a fair price to sell it for for anyone that wants to repair it?????
And if anyone is interested, please message me, i just want rid of it now.
Thanks guys...
Interested, where you located and how much you asking?, am searching for replacement lcd cost now, so will need to factor in shipping cos funds are limited here (living in Singapore)... i have a wildfire s i am trying to s-off (hardware only) so am weighing up the cost of an xtc clip to s-off against price of your dell streak, i've seen them around, big buggers yeah, but i heard very reliable, can you advise any downsides to owning one that you have found (apart from breaking it of course lol).

hello and thanks for your reply.
Dirst of all, the streak is an unbelievable piece of kit, it is so moddable its hard to believe, some manufacturers have their phones so locked down its hard to do anything with them, the streak is easy, its literally a 2 minute job to flash a firmware, and sooooooooo easy, the best thing about the streak is that its practically impossible to brick it, unless the user does something really stoopid like flashing a wrong firmware, ie, galaxy ace gingerbread onto the streak lmao, believe it or not, it happens.
The next best thing is that a tiny piece of plastic hidden behind the battery door out of sight has been removed, allowing access to the streaks internal mem which is a micro sd card, this allowed me to replace the internal 2 gig memory with an 8gig class 6 memory card, it can take a class 10, although im not sure if it will take a 16gig internally, so having the 8gig in there gives you about 6.5 gig internal storage for downloads, thus doing away with the need to keep moving stuff to the external sd card, its great.
It is also very fast, even though it only has a 1 gig processor the speed and graphics capability is awesome, easily outpacing a lot of more up to date phones, battery life is good, i got 10 hours constant use of surfing, texting, calling.
DOWNSIDE, only 1, the lcds are easily breakable, i dropped mine when it wasnt in its protective case, off my bed onto the carpeted floor, that was enough to break the screen lol.
The lcds are replaceable, they can be purchased at a reliable source in the uk for about £25 to £30, then you just follow the guides and videos that the boys here on XDA have posted, which may i add is the only mobile forum place anyone should use, XDA is the greatest resource online, anything you need is right here.
So the question is price, it is open to offers, i have not set a price on it and of course your location would mean heavy shipping costs, this is why i asked on here if anyone could please advise me of its worth, i have seen them selling on ebay with broken lcd for around £100gb.
I wouldnt be asking that, i would take offers lesser than that as long as the buyer was able to collect or at least compensate for postage.
As it is, it works fine, the phone still works and useable, just where its broke at the top its leaked and blotted out the top right corner where the battery icon is and a couple of mil across the top, the rest of the screen is visible apart from a black thin line.
But my advice to you my friend is buy a streak if you can get one.
pm'ing u...
Cheers

The LCD is bonded to the glass, so it's very difficult to just replace one without replacing both.
Replacement LCDs are not very expensive on ebay/around though, your biggest issue is in the installation.
The ribbon cables inside are VERY fragile, the most common dis/assembly issue is damaging one of them. Replacement ribbons are not as common as LCDs so you must exercise caution when opening it up.

Thx TheManii, will bear that in mind, i've seen a few posts now by users who have trashed those ribbon cables, so will be on my guard when/if the time comes.

Moto G⁴ Plus Vibrator

I broke my screen , replaced it went to put it back together and can't find my vibration motor.. Kept everything even broken screen till parts came in to put back together. Went to order a new one and no one has any, they only seem to cost a few bucks when they have them in stock. Or eBay is selling used ones for like 20 bucks. Can anyone help? I would like a new one for a few bucks in stock, or buy a new one that will fit (even if its for wrong phone) and make my own wire harness for it.
Thanks
Bought HTC One Vibration module it works but case needed to be trimmed and wireharness not exact. Better than nothing though..
