My wife's Razr Maxx is stuck at the red eye. Power+down vol does reboot it but it always gets stuck at the red eye. I cannot get into safe mode but I can get to the boot menu by holding up/down vol at restart. Unfortunately we didn't have any syncing setup with Verizon or Google so all of her contacts are on her phone. I'm hoping there is a utility that will give me access to the contacts. VZ is sending a replacement phone but I'm hoping to grab her contacts first. If it helps to know this all started when someone tried to call her using Viber. Thanks!
As it turns out wiping the device back to factory brought it back to life and Google had all of the contacts synced too.
If I knew how to delete this post I would.

Yesterday I started having issues with my lapdock -- when connecting to the phone, the lapdock would just show the Moto logo and never go to phone view. Thinking it was a problem with the lapdock, I went to Sprint to try it with another Photon. As it turned out, the lapdock was fine and my phone wouldn't talk to the HD dock either. No new apps had been installed nor settings changed since they both had previously been connected.
After a backup with Titanium, I did a factory reset (didn't wipe personal data). The phone appears to talk with the lapdock again and I haven't tried the HD dock yet. I restored everything with Titanium.
The problem I have though is that the home and search buttons don't work and I'm missing things that were previously on my phone, like when holding the power button the only option there is power off -- no airplane mode and I can't remember the other one that was there.
I tried to initiate a NAND restore (as I saw with another thread), but using the power button+vol up, I can't get it to actually go past the initiating message. I'm charging the phone now since it was at 60% and will try again when it reaches 80%.
What am I missing here? Doing a factory reset should've taken me back to initial everything I thought--so why are things not like the original release?
Updating this in case anyone finds themselves in a similar situation. Did a second factory reset and wiped internal storage this time. Things might be back to normal...default lock screen is back, extra options on the power button are back and home and search buttons work again.
Not sure what happened but my razr has been roted for a wile now. Yesterday it started getting errors about process has stopped, gmail crashing, pretty much all aps are crashing. Strange thing is I can unistall any app on the device, power my phone off then back on and the apps are back as if I never uninstalled and this is the same with my email. I can delete any email account from the gmail app, power the device off then back on and the email account is back..??!??? Im unable to omplete a factory reset as it only displays a screen with the android bot laying on its back with a red triangle. Iim not sure what to do and Im unable to delete anything from my device without it coming back after a reboot.Has anyone else experienced this or have as resolution to this problem? Thanks.
Any possible workarounds for getting off the retrieve pattern lock if you have forgotten a gmail acct? Done doing factory reset via cwm and tried installing stock rom and kernel but it always ends the same way. With customs, I always get a bootloop.

i seems an answer is in the post a few below yours::
Samsung Galaxy SCH-i500 how to bypass "Login with google account" screen?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2182268
Quote:
1. Completely power off and power on your Galaxy-S phone.
2. Right after you pass the Galaxy-S and just before the Verizon Wireless logo video ends, immediately tap on the home button extremely fast and repeatedly (at least 4-5 times per second). If the Emergency Call button pops up, click that every now and then (3-5 times) but keep tapping on the home button. During this process your phone may flash the password screen or keypad screen just a few times and your phone will seem to be lagging due to the tapping.
3. Keep tapping until you see your Android home buttons stay steady at the bottom. Voila, you’re in your phone! If the emergency keypad constantly shows up or if it shows the Google account screen constantly, you have failed. The success rate can be around 15-50% so keep trying until it works. (You may want to grab a young phone-savvy guy or girl to do it if your fingers are too slow)
4. Find and run the Settings App and go to Accounts & Sync.
5. Under Manage Accounts, remove all accounts except your Google account.
6. Press your power button off and on and enter your correct Google account information.
7. It will ask for a new security pattern. Enter it twice and you are done!
This solution worked for me. If it does for you, please leave a comment with your carrier and phone model to let others know that it worked!
... but worked just fine.
.
will try this method. will keep you posted if successful or not.
managed to get in. but now theres a new one. somehowmthe owner had a tw launcher installed and im'm stuck on fc error message. if i try to close it, i'm back on the gmail acct retrieval. hmmmmm.....
Looks to me that o won't he able to do the above steps. Hands are too slow. Also found out that it's like a common issue to the sgs stock recovery. Used odin and flashed cwm 2.5.1.x instead amd wipe from there. Worked like a charm.

hey guys i think i accidentally bricked my phone
at first it was just the blue screen for a few seconds then a black screen
then after trying to get into recovery mode and doing a reset i got the demigod green screen.
i wasnt near a comp at the time so i let it die out.
now today ive been trying to get into download mode.
i get the disabled by killswitch message
logged into my mcafee account. my phone wasnt locked
tried to do a reset from their site and nothing
so i removed the phone from the account and tried to get back into download mode
same kill switch message
anyone know how to fix?
I can remove the killswitch - no guarantee on the rest of the stuff. But I own and operate a business doing these services, so there would be a charge
It was previously just in a bootloop and didn't want to turn on the screen at all. Managed to somehow boot it up today and factory reset (AGAIN) and connected to my less used Google account just to be safe (less data to sync).
Previous problem I had is still there however. When I click the menu button even lightly (not holding down), it opens up Assistant. Voice commands haven't crashed the watch yet but if I click on Assistant settings or anything else, screen will turn black and it won't reboot. Only way to reboot it to place it on the charger and hold down the power button.
I also have a logcat from Bluetooth debugging. Log ends when watch shuts down after clicking anything on Assistant. Started logging right after startup and all I did was install some updates which took a while.
Nothing extraordinary at the bottom of the log stands out to me but I'm probably not as good as some of you at reading logs. There seems to be several errors occurring.

I did all the updates on Play Store (WearOS, Google etc) but problem still persists.
Any help is really appreciated.
