[Q] Any way to play Google Drive MP3s in the background?

Hi -- I've got a bunch of MP3s in Google Drive, and I'd like to be able to play them on my Android. The problem is that when I play an MP3 on the phone, no matter what app I choose to use to play it (and I've tried a bunch!) the MP3 opens in such a way that if I then switch to another app, playback stops. In other words, the Google Drive MP3 won't play in the background.
Is there any way to make MP3s play from Google Drive in such a way that they WILL play in the background? I've found some awkward workaround to do this -- like downloading the MP3 from the Google Drive web app, or like pinning the MP3 in the Google Drive Android app and then using an Android file manager to find the file and copy it to a folder that the music player searches -- but I really wish there was a better way!!! Anyone know one?
Thanks,
Alan

For some bizarre reason, no - you can't do it. I'd strongly recommend getting Google Music. It'll hold up to 20,000 songs and you can stream or download to your phone with the Google Music player. That' just like a regular music player so it still runs in the background.
Thank you! Yeah, I use the Google Music player for my own stuff; the MP3s in Google Drive are in shared folders from organizations I work with. So, yes, I can copy those over to Google Music when I get to my PC, but I wish there was a better way to listen on my phone to something in Google Drive that I haven't yet moved over.
I wish there was a way to just make Google Drive open the full Google Music app to play these files rather than the little embedded version!

I've just installed an app called music drive which is dedicated to playing music off the Google drive, works for me, esp as I want to keep all music on the drive

Thank you for the tip! I've been trying this, but it's really not working for me: it crashes constantly and has no search function, which makes dealing with all of the tracks in my Google Drive pretty impossible.

Hi! Not sure if you still need a solution.. But I managed to link my Google Drive to a file manager called ES File Explorer and then used the built in music player to play the music off my Google Drive.

Thanks! It's actually much easier to deal with this with the newer versions of the Google Play Music app: they automatically seem to turn up tracks downloaded by Google Drive.

playing audiobooks synced to ebooks using NO TTS (text to speech)

hi
after searching on google, i found nothing but amazon's kindle and audible, with the feature called whispersync synchronizing text to speech, just every page (i found on youtube it is highlighted every line, i am not sure),
so the idea, is that i need an app synchronizing text to natural narrator's voice, i.e audiobook, not text to speech engine, as i found many, coz i need that to learn english , i am not american
the problem is that i got a message "this service is not available on ur country" on google play, so i downloaded it as apk, however i still can't get the ebook i wish coz i can't purchase on amazon for the same reason
is there any app other than kindle for my purpose?? for instance, there is an app called crintsoft mini lyrics, syncing song to text line by line in LRC format
so i wondered is this LRC format available in audiobooks??
as a last resort, i downloaded an audiobook in mp3, but wasn't recognized when placed in sdcard0/audible, i fogured out it must be aax format, so can i convert mp3->aax??
as a last resort, is there any other audiobook player so that i can listen alongside reading, even without sync??? any idea??
by the way, is that whispersync feature syncing every line or every page??
i know it maybe weird i need that badly but this maybe the best way for those learning english , especially to enhance accent
thanks in advance

[Q] Music play account only

A simple & logical request, I have a tablet that everyone want to use to control all my music to Bluetooth speakers but only access to play music.
Is there a way to log onto play music on the tablet but ONLY play music NOT my email or my browser details.
This seems logical & should be easy but I cannot find away. Or is there a way to share play music with another user. I could create a home account?

Pretty sure it's all or nothing. Why not just use an app that requires a passcode to get into the other apps like Gmail and the browser so someone can't snoop around? You can turn of syncing and such too so your contacts and emails and such won't even come to the tablet.

I want to use Google TTS for the "Shouter" app and "Spritz" for Play Books

I want to use Google TTS for the "Shouter" app and "Spritz" for Play Books
Hello, I was re-directed from the XDA assist forum:
As it says in the title, I want to use the Google TTS engine for "Shouter" app and "Spritz" for Play Books. How can I accomplish this? Is it even possible right now to use different TTS engines for different apps? When I set Spritz as The TTS engine for Play Books it also overwrites the TTS setting used in Shouter. Thanks.
