I have a S3 19300 that was rooted using exploit one click root...
Worked fine on 4.04...
Have recentley updated to 4.1.1 19300XXELJ2
And didnt want to inject su via mobile odin so didnt ckick to root...
Now have lost root and since new rom exploit wont work either...
Next problem is my usb cant connect to otg or computer...
Computet tells me usb device has malfunctioned.
I have latest kies and drivers etc have tried different computer and different ports etc..
Also tried to root by installing cwm zip but keep getting signatures failed thing so no go there..
Is there any other way i can root without odin?
I really want TWRP but need root access first...
Lost for ideas now....
Anybody can help?...
Also im overseas for a while so cant drop phone to get usb problem fixed at moment..
Try installing SU from Play store, sounds as though you have lost the binaries if you didn't select the option
Yeah but need root access....for su to update binarys...
When i flashed jellybean rom with odin i didnt choose ever root
As used exynos exploit one click root before...
I like that you can un root it without flashing a stock rom so
This was my plan...how ever when jb installed exynos exploit wont work now?
Funny cause i thought it was the chip it works on and didnt think a rom would stop it to work..
With out root i cant use TWRP either...
Now im guessing my only choice is to use cwm zip through restore...
Cwm do this on my tablet but on my phone it doesnt work due to failed signatures...
If anybody can help thanks....

Hi, i have used the process on this website to try to root as well as SuperOneRoot and Vibrant one click root and none of them seem to work!
When i have to go into recovery mode it says E:\ signature verification failed
According to superoneroot my phone is rooted even though it has no superuser. Also, i downloaded a terminal emulator and typed in su and it says permission denied. Furthermore, i downloaded a root checker and tried that and it doesn't seem to work...
After looking on the internets for this problem it seems to have something to do with the update tmobile sent out after there froyo update. But i didn't really understand how to solve the problem...
so, can someone explain to me how to root the phone as of now?
Well... you could flash CWR and then flash a ROM (damn near all of them) that already comes rooted
YouTube a tutorial.

Get vibrant tool box make sure you go on your vibrant and turn on usb debugging, hit root in the program and BAM! (also install drivers if you need to)
The vibrant is the easiest phone to root YouTube it like randomfied said
SuperOneClick
Hey make sure you get the latest version of SuperOneClick, make sure USB Debugging is enabled, and make sure you computer recognizes your vibrant (The best way is to get the drivers from samsung/t-mobile and install them anyway). I have rooted from 2.1 and 2.2 both with SuperOneClick.
Hi guys. I have a Samsung Galaxy s3 GT-i9300 running 4.1.1 Baseband 19300XXDLIB.
I have been trying and trying and trying for the last few days to root my mobile. I take care following all of the steps and I have tried every type of root program and files I think are available but even though they download to the phone and reboot into their custom recovery, then install the files needed to root, none of them have worked!!
It's strange because the phone is just unrootable it seems. I have tried several versions of Odin. I've tried what should be 1 click rooters but nothing works! The most recent files I have used to download to my phone via Odin were CF-Auto-Root-m0-gti9300, CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4, SuperOneClickv2.2-ShortFuse, SuperOneClickv2.3.1-ShortFuse and SuperOneClickv2.3.3-ShortFuse all of which have been recommended to me and I have strictly followed YouTube videos and written guides. I don't think I am doing anything wrong yet I still have no root access. The last root I tried installed a CWM app (I know it stands for Clock Work Mod but not sure what I am supposed to do with it) but not SuperSU which is supposed to come with it.
Please can someone help? I'm tearing my hair out here!
I should probably point out I am not using the stock ROM as I did manage to brick my phone at one point and had to install another firmware, although I would like to go back to my original firmware yet I am not sure what it was...is it possible to figure out what the stock firmware should be? The phone is unbranded from the UK.
Many thanks

No you can only guess .
TO ROOT .
Factory reset the phone and install CF root 6.4 via Odin .
But its really pointless rooting when you don't have a clue as to why or what .

May also be because your computer hasn't been installed with the samsung drivers yet? Kies i think it's called..
Have you tried downloading supersu from the play store? And be sure to not try superuser but supersu.
I had the same thing with cf-autoroot. supersu wasn't there and I didn't have root. Tried several times, never worked. After that I tried rooting with the old cf-root that also installs cwm recovery. Recovery was there but no supersu and the phone didn't get root. Tried that several times too but that didn't help either, although that is how I rooted my phone successfully right after I had bought it. Went back to cf-autoroot, same result, no root. But as soon as I downloaded the app supersu manually and updated the binarys as it tells you to at first start, I had root.

Kies is not required (and its junkie bloatware that doesn't properly clean itself up on uninstall anyway)
Windows can pull the drivers from WU.
You Sir, are a legend! Thank you very much, you have sorted my problem I had SuperUser instead of SuperSU like you stated. Who would've thought it'd be so easy to fix?

You should probably not just imagine that just because someone has a problem that they don't have a clue what they are doing. I have done this numerous amounts of times with several phones, my Samsung was just slightly more difficult since I had made an easy mistake by not taking note of my original firmware and by not realizing that I needed SuperSU and not SuperUser (which I'm sure is a common and easy mistake).
Try next time not to put a fellow site member down.

Hey guys so I ran into anther problem.A while ago I posted on what next for my p769, I have a rooted v10g ICS locked bootloader.I cant do the OTA update because Ive modified system apps and rom settings. I followed the method of flashing a JB Backup with CWM from this link that was provided: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37666447
So then I didnt have CWM installed so I proceeded to install cwm for my phone using this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36620368
As for that my results were a little troubling The flashing led lights when I turn on my phone dont blink anymore and when SU grants permissions it has started to loop it continuously grants permissions to apps that SU just gave permissions to.And on top of that the CWM installation was supposedly installed but I cant even boot to CWM
Hope I can get some help on this one .

So a little add on to that I think I jacked up my phone because now it wont connect to wi fi networks and it seems SU gives access to apps but doesn't really give them root access ....-_- I think the worst part about this is I cant restore to an old back up because I was trying to install CWM so I could make backups .

I have used both Stephen and Robert version. Just install the one your prefer. For wifi issue, it work before you mess up your phone? Try to make CWM work and restore a good CWM backup.

Hi, I was actually trying to unroot my phone, so I downloaded the stock rom and flashed it in. Came across the triangle app to reset my flash count. But it need root access, so I flashed vcoreroot-v2 into my phone and attempt to install supersu. But there's a problem. My wifi cant switch on.. I can see the phone directory thru my computer. But I cant write or read anything inside. I also realised that my phone memory is empty.. and shows 128mb?
I have a galaxy mega 6.3.. singapore region. Currently have no supersu installed. Root checker says my phone have no proper root access.
Hopefully theres a kind soul out there to troubleshoot this for me. Thanks!

what was your firmware?
Hello! I am an extremely newbie in rooting so this is my issue. I just rooted my S4 I9505XXUGNH8. I used odin and the root file from chainfire. It passed. So I thought there' s no problem but after 5 hours or so, when I lock my phone it restarts. Plus my bluetooth won't turn on. So I saw this option in SuperSU that I presumed will unroot my phone. I clicked it and say yes. I restarted my phone, the said app was not there anymore. Checked root checker and it says no proper root access or something like that so I thought I already unrooted my phone. I tried even SRS Root, it says that my device has no root. But the issues were still there. I tried to create new file from my sd card so I was expecting it will not work because of that Kitkat sd card restriction stuff but it worked. I tried to update my firmware but the phone didn't allow me because it was modified. So reinstall SuperSU again, and it says SU Binary not found, like that. Now I really have no idea what to do. Please help me. Thanks and sorry for my novel like post.

Seems like you might have used the auto root package from another firmware version as this sounds like some kernel issues. Since you know Odin works, then you can just reset and reinstall the NH8. This will get everything backup and running again (you can try not wiping, but possible issues can arise from this too - fair warning and best to backup internal storage to PC for safe keeping). As far as rooting goes afterwards, put Chainfire's SuperSU zip on your phone, find an updated custom recovery such as TWRP, Philz, or CWM and install via Odin. Once installed, you must immediately boot to recovery before the OS loads so you can use the recovery to install the zip or the stock system will rewrite the original recovery to it. Then you will be rooted with no other changes to the phone that could affect functionality or usability.
