Yes I found that, tho its not actually telstra branded the latest is 1 file the others arnt branded either, I need to put phone back to stock for warranty.
Why wouldn't it be branded?
It's just a one file firmware.

Just flash with odin.

Got beaten to it, but all stock firmware are one file, just unzip them, open Odin, add the .tar.md5 to PDA, boot to download mode, connect the phone to your PC and click start, don't click anything else.
And please don't post questions in General

Hi guys.
When flashing firmware through odin, sometimes there are 3 files to be flashed, and in certain cases only one (pda). Why is that?? I flashed 2.3.4 android using odin with only one .tar file, but now for 2.3.5 there are three files. I live in austria, and I flashed the "official" austrian version. Whats the difference between those versions? I am on austrian tmobile, and i wouldnt like to loose the network settings? Can someone clear this mystery for me, since I am really confused?
Thank you guys in advance!!

hi,
when you have one file, it means it has all been packaged into one and you flash it under the PDA section of odin,
when you have the 3 seperate files you put them into their individual sections in odin.
- Don't select Re-Partition!
hope this helps
Thank you for your reply!
It is definately helping. But, what does it mean the firmware that i flashed is for austria? They released 2.3.4 for many countries... Why does it matter? Whats the difference between this one and firmwares for other countries?

Please don't, even if you have 3 files.
Thanks. Do u maybe know the answer to my previous question?

Official Austrian version is Android 2.3.4 and the XXKI3 for Poland is Android 2.3.5.
So what will happen if I flash the polish version? I am talking about firmwares in general, even the 2.3.4... Why did they separate it that way? Isnt it pretty much the same for all the countries?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
dude,VERY IMPORTANT WARNING what "intratech" has given you.Do not select re-partition unless you are using a pit file. You are not so DO NOT tick this box or you will brick your phone.
Ya i figured that from all those different flashing guides... Thanks though... Do u maybe have an answer to my question about android version for different countries? Would it make any difference if I installed the polish 2.3.5 version on my austrian galaxy s2?

So, is flashing the polish version going to mess up my internet over network? Is it going to delete my network settings?

So can I just flash the android version (PDA), and the baseband (Phone), without flashing the CSC?

Yes if you want just flash firmware without CSC or change CSC after .
Or look in that thread for a multi csc or Frankenstein rom to fit .

Hey I'm Australian and own an S3.. I'm sick of Vodafone update strategy.. I want to root, what do you think?
Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2
Ye root it, i rooted it too, except i think i need a replacement cause my phone has a problem.
Rooting could do lots of stuff.
If you ain't that good with computers and you don't want to stress yourself finding stuffs and working on it, don't do it cause it can risk your phone and might not brick.
Otherwise it's great to root
I've had the GNex.. I just hope it's as easy. Vodafone seriously piss me off..
I think Im Gonna root it.. just regret I didn't do that the moment I got it.. cause I seriously can't be stuffed going through the whole set up process again..

Why root it has nothing to do with updates or stock roms .

well actually looking at your statistics i think you know well
hahaha
SGS3 doesn't really need root, as it is already good enough
but can make it better with root i think
yes

flashing is just to do with odin...so
if you get the firmware file and use odin
no need of rooting

You can also download latest Official Firmwares from http://samfirmware.com

Yes. But you'll be able to do so with root too...
Many people confuse the two, so just to clarify:
Rooting means having a tiny modification in the phone's operating system so it doesn't restrict you from superuser commands. This will not affect your installed data or ability to upgrade.
Custom Roms is replacing the stock rom with a new operating system package someone else built which may or may not largely differ from Samsung's own version.

I just want an official non branded ROM .so I can get the latest updates without carrier delays .
Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2
There are always delays, whether carrier-, region-, or whatever-related.
You can flash the newer Rom's through Odin tough (again: the flashcounter does not increase with original ROM's) to get it as soon as the file is released.
Unbranded S1's had to wait several months for Froyo update over here...
Where can I find the latest official firmware?
Also since I'm in Australia.. does it matter what region firmware I update to? Say.. can I update to an European based firmware?

hi all,
I am buying a Galaxy S2 as a present for my OH on O2 UK. She is on giffgaff. I know that I do not need to unlock it as the SIM should work without a problem.
However I want to flash the firmware to remove the O2 branding (splash screen, animations, etc) + the bloatware.
I have read this thread [GUIDE] Debrand & Rebrand back to O2 for Samsung Galaxy S2 on how to use Odin. However I cannot find the firmware to download, even using the these links within the thread.
Even sammobile website is a bit confusing on which firmware to download for a handset bought on O2
Therefore my question is: Where can I find a plain Samsung SIM free firmware to download???? Is it different for every carrier???
Sorry for the noob questions but I couldn't figure it out yet.
Help is much appreciated.

Just download latest unbranded stock ROM for UK. Should be XWLPT.
Odoslané z GT-I9100 cez Tapatalk 2
Simlock is stored in nv_data.bin in efs folder -> flashing other FW won't make your phone unlocked. You need NCK code.

Cheers

Even PAYG????
WHy do customers normally fill an online form to ask for unlock code?
Anyhow my OH is on giffgaff (pigback O2), so the handset shouldn't be an issue, even if it is locked. Just want to flash it to remove bloatware and splash/animation
May go 4.0.3 XWLP7 firmware
As far as I know.
And both my phones were on unbranded lp7.

Just as the title says. I have a contract sgs 3 but haven't got the update and I can only find people who have got the update. I'm wondering if anyone else hasn't got it yet, like me? Starting to think something's up with my phone.
Try it on Kies maybe? I just flashed the firmware through odin.
