Tasker bluetooth timing help - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Right, can someone help me out with Tasker. Please *I need to setup some profiles. *Basically, I've got 2 phones and my car will only connect to 1 at a time. Think of this as a logical puzzle
If both phones have bluetooth on when the car starts, which ever phone connects first will connect. If bluetooth is off on one then the other will connect.
My problem. I only want phone W to connect to the cars bluetooth between 8:30 – 18:00, Monday - Friday. Phone P should be connected to the car outside of these time frames, AND if phone W is not present in the time frames above.
So, any ideas how I can do this with minimal battery drain? I could use NFC however I'd like to avoid if possible

Nobody?

I don't have this issue, but here are my 2 cents, hopefully they are worth at least that.
For Phone W, create a profile that turns bluetooth on during the specified hours and days of the week.
Pair Phone P with Phone W. Then create a profile on P that will try to connect the two phones. If they connect, then Phone P turns bluetooth off. This should keep your work phone connected to your car when you need it. Have another profile to turn Phone P's bluetooth on everyday at 1800. That should prevent you from having to turn it on except when you don't need Phone W during specific hours. Unfortunately, it basically means Phone P will always have bluetooth off from 830-1800 and you'll have to turn off Phone W's bluetooth before Phone P's.comes on.
Or, buy a bluetooh speaker that can handle two phones simultaneously.

[Q] Bluetooth/Car connection issue

I just bought an Atrix to replace my Galaxy S and I have properly paired and coonected it to my Alpine KCE-400BT. Calls and A2DP work fine once connected. However, each time I get in the car I must reconnect the phone to the stereo which also requires me to input the pin as well. I always leave the bluetooth running on the phone and in the past with my Galaxy S I never had this issue. The phone would reconnect each time I got in and started the car. Anyone have any similar issue. It's a real pain to have to reconnect it and input the pin each time.
Thanks!

[Q] Loosing Bluetooth pairing

After the pairing procedure for the Galaxy SII to the Vehicle (uconnect), it works fine. Turning off the phone and back on, still remains paired. However, if we were to turn off the bluetooth and GPS for battery life on the phone and then turn it back on when I want to pair, the phone looses the memory of the pairing and we need to re-pair it. This wouldn't be a huge deal except that uconnect make you delete the pairing phone and resync it, a real pain in the @$$. Did you experience this and am I missing something that can be done in the phone setting to not loose the pairing when bluetooth is turn off/on on the phone.
Thanks

Never had a problem with mine losing pairing. Has another device been able to hold a pairing to it in the past?
What's a "uconnect"? It doesn't rely on remote power being hooked up correctly by any chance does it?

Sorry about that. Uconnect is the Bluetooth service installed on Dodge vehicles in North America.
The Uconnect holds 2 phones, in my case a Blackberry and the GSII. If I was to turn off Bluetooth on the blackberry and then later reactivate it, the blackberry does not forget the pairing and they pair with no problem. However, if I was to turn off the Bluetooth on the GSII, it seems to forget and I need to start the whole pairing process all over again.
EDIT: lol, I'm a product of French Canadian bilingualism, I can't spell for crap
I keep my BT on full time, but just out of curiosity i followed your steps and no such issue on my Nissan factory radio bluetooth. Probably some weird compatibility issue.

[Q] Let's talk Bluetooth problems

Hey everyone,
Has anyone noticed bluetooth issues? I've pointed them out in other threads, but they seem to be glossed over. I hate to seem like a noob by creating new threads, but I fear that the issue is being looked over by most people. I've read a few reports of people having issues with their phones connecting to their cars or headsets automatically. Has anyone else faced these issues?
I specifically cannot get my BT headset to connect unless I unpair and repair it everytime I want to use it. Sometimes even during a phone call the headset will drop connection and wont reconnect unless i turn it off and on a few times. For reference, I've tried multiple BT headsets and they all behave the same way. These headset's also work just fine with my Galaxy S2, just not with my S3 (international on XLE8)
No problems with bluetooth here and I use it a lot (HS3000, Logitech Boombox, PS3 and Wii controllers too).
No issues here. Phone sometimes doesn't pair automatically with the BT kit in my work car, but I've had that issue with my S1 and S2 in the same car so I'd say it's a problem with the headunit.
Works perfectly with the Sony headunit in my own car, and connects to my mate's fine.
ok, what firmware rev are you guys running? im going nuts not being able to use bluetooth here!!
somewhat related.
i often leave my sgs3 connected to my laptop via usb when i fall asleep. at morning, battery's charged 100% obviously and phone isn't hot.
last time around, i was listening to music via hm3700 bluetooth headset. then later turned off the bluetooth headset. i forgot to turn off the bluetooth on sgs3 and again fell asleep while it's still connected via usb to laptop.
when i woke up at morning as usual battery's charged 100% but the sgs3 was hot, not so hot but isn't anywhere the normal hot we're accustomed to.
connects automatically to my car's BT built-in system. Only needed to pair once.
Works very well with my Sennheiser PXC 310 BT.
If I switch on the headphones the phone automatically connects to it.
can everyone please detail their firmware/kernel they are using?
i am on XXALE8, with the stock kernel
I have problems on XXLE8 as well connect it to my car head unit and it acrually crashes the headunit after 5 mins being connected . After the heaf unit crashes 3 times it requires a pin code. Iphone 4, 4s and gs2 connect no issues.

thanks for your input, i upgraded to XALF5 and still having the same issues. this is frustrating!!!!
Oddly - my phone will automatically connect to my cars in-built BT system, but it won't auto connect to my Jawbone Era without switching BT of and back on....
I also have problems, with my build-in bt in my car. Have XXBLH3. Connect fine, but drop the connection 2-3min after. My SGSII have no problems
No Ringtone through Bluetooth
Okay here is my problem……I want my custom ringtones i have set for contact to play in my Bluetooth headset when a receive a call, not that dumb ring. That way I will know if I want to take the call or not because I can tell by the ringtone who is calling. Why would Samsung disable this feature. my iPhone 4s plays the ringtone I have setup when I get a call. Is there anyway to do this. I ride a motorcycle and I have a device called a Chatterbox that let’s me connect via Bluetooth to my phone so I can hear my music and talk and make calls while I am riding. On my iPhone 4s my music would pause my custom ringtone would play and I could decide it I wanted to take the call or send it to voicemail, then my music would start right back up from where it left off. Right now my Galaxy i717 and my Galaxy i747 (Note and S III) just play this annoying ring and I can’t tell who it is! Any have a fix or work around for this.
Hmmm, the sound on my cars bluetooth gets distorted and only a reconnect will fix, and more worringly sometimes the S3 will not wake up after disconnecting from my car and only a hard reset will solve it.
My S2 did pretty much the same thing.

Bluetooth Headset Question

I have Jaybird Freedom Sprint Bluetooth headsets that I use to workout with. I tried pairing with them on my Omate. It will pair but the sound still comes out of the speaker on the watch. Is there something I can do to fix that as the headset works great. Thanks for any help!
I have have a pair of Jaybirds, and mine did the same thing. What worked was the Omate ran out of juice and after recharging and Turing back on it has worked perfectly every since. You may also need to to set the Jaybirds as default for miix and phone calls under Bluetooth settings.

Where the heck are the bluetooth settings, not quite in your face if you know what I mean.
Yeah, so I don't see in the watch where those Bluetooth settings are to set the Jaybird up as default. Maybe you can help guide me to where that is. Not sure if it matters but it is stock. I also drained the battery but it didn't do anything. If you have a speific process maybe you could lay it out for me and see what happens. Thanks again for the help!
Go to settings. Then wireless and networks. Then Bluetooth. Select Jaybird make sure phone and media audio are selected.

I found the options and it was set as you stated above. Still didn't connect. But, I did a hard reset and tried again and it wored fine, now the issue is that when I turn the headsets on they should connect to the watch but doesnt automatically and I have to re-pair each time.
Glad you got it to work. Not sure why you have to repair each time.

I have a bluetooth problem too. My 1/8 2100 (stock firmware) Truesmart pairs with my LogiLink BT0026 headset but i can play music only within a distance of about 10cm. It disconnects on a higher range. Same with the connection to my PC. The headset connects normally to my other devices. Any ideas???

I have the earlier 1/8 US firmware. I use the Altec Lansing Backbeat 903 Bluetooth(Also sold as Plantronics under same model name and number) headset that I picked up from a garage sale today. Great Bluetooth stereo sound! I absolutely get no sound cuts when worn on my wrist(Which is 2ft away when arm extended) no matter how I move my arms. Have you tried disabling the quickboot feature in Settings >> System >> Accessibility? That feature is causing problems with wifi and bluetooth due to the firmware from what I've been told before.
Thx for your reply! :good:
I tried disabling the quickboot feature and also flashed Loki's EnSec-firmware, but the problem is still the same. :crying:
I have come to the conclusion that we can't always blame the truesmart with the bluetooth issues. I have a bluetooth audio receiver plugged into my hifi system but I can only stream to it in very close contact i.e. about 10cm maxiumum. However same setup on watch connected to my August EP60 headphones (which are amazing btw) yielded very different results. After connectin established I started music streaming and took off my watch and leaving it downstairs went for a walk round my house including upstairs. No loss of connection with several meters distance and no dropouts at all. Happy because I bought the August EP60's specifically to use with Truesmart.
:good:
Hi,
I'm listening to music from my TS through my bluetooth earphones right now... apart from the occasional split second stutter, I'm very impressed.... I can see how this would be a killer device for the gym or joggers etc, I'm so impressed im going to try and find a smaller pair than my backbeats!

Good to hear this, so i still have hope.
What's about your WiFi connection... my maximum range is 3 to 5 meters away from the router (same room, no walls between).
With my stock TrueSmart I get Bluetooth solid from 3 rooms, 32 ft min before blittiness starts. WiFi is even farther.

Bluetooth and WiFi range problem solved!
My problem is finally solved.! I removed the pin of the wristband in which the antenna is located and found that both black wires were scratched. I isolated them with a small peace of tape and now it works great for me.

Just took mine apart for the second time and found the same connector lose again, hopefully sorted properly this time. How did you get the wristband pins out, mine don't seem to have screw heads.

[Q] Bluetooth disconnecting when 2 devices paired, but only 1 in use

I'm having a strange issue on my S6 Edge that didn't exist on my previous phone (HTC M8).
I use a Moto 360 which naturally is paired over bluetooth, and also a wireless bluetooth headset. I found the audio would cut out anywhere between about 2 and 20 minutes when using the headset at the gym; however it would only 'disconnect' about 2 minutes later if left (it still registered as being connected until then and the music app would continue "playing"). Turning the headset off and on would fix it each time, and my Moto 360 would not have any disconnection issues.
I eventually worked out the issue is fixed if only the headset was paired with the phone (i.e., I unpaired the Moto 360 in the S6's bluetooth settings). The weird thing is though, that I do not take my Moto 360 to the gym, so only 1 bluetooth device was ever connected or even in range at the same time; it was simply the fact of having the Moto 360 remembered as paired but not connected that is making the phone cut audio to the headset and then disconnect 2 minutes later.
I've read of people experiencing the exact same thing on the S5 with 2 bluetooth devices paired, but haven't found a solution. I did not experience this issue at all the my M8, so I assume it must be an S6 or Samsung thing.
Anyone else having this problem?
I'm having the same issue with my Jaybird Bluebuds X. Audio will cut out and then bluetooth disconnect every couple minutes at the gym. Then I came home and played around with them and didn't have any issues. I'll have to do more testing at the gym to see what is making it cut out.
Do you have 2 devices listed as paired under Bluetooth?
For the record, my headset is a Plantronics Backbeat Fit, although I'm pretty sure that's not the issue since it works fine on my M8 under the exact same conditions.
Also confirmed again today - removing my Moto 360 from the bluetooth list stops the issue. Very annoying to have to go and re-add my watch every day after the gym though.
Yes, I have about 4 other devices that are paired. That must be the issue then. Really annoying though, because I'm not going to remove them every time I go to the gym. Ugh.
You guys ever figure this out? I'm having the same exact issue. Moto 360 and Jaybird BT headphones. The headphones cut out after several minutes, then a couple minutes later they disconnect. I connect them and it does the same thing over and over. This is if I have my Moto 360 on me, and weirdly enough if I leave it at home.
What solves it is if I "disconnect" the Moto 360 in the Android Wear app. This works if the Moto 360 is on me, or at home. I have no idea why, but it works flawlessly and I don't have to unpaid it. Now I'd love to not have to do that, what if I wanted to wear my Moto 360 and the headset at the same time? Would love to find a solution to this.
This phone has been giving me some odd issues and I'm worried I may just replace it before my 30 days are up. The keyboard presses on the edge are not responding, the bluetooth is causing issues, etc etc. GRRRR!
I had to return the Jaybird Bluebuds, they are just too expensive to be disconnecting this often. I am now using the Motorola Buds and haven't had any issues.
I found a bandaid fix yesterday - when the music disconnects, press the call / hang-up button on your earphones if they have one. The music immediately starts playing again as if nothing happened and there's no disconnect 2 minutes later.
It's annoying, but at least I don't have to mess with unpairing or disconnecting my Moto 360. It also leads me to believe the bug must be something to do with the phone incorrectly changing audio priorities as if it's gotten a call, which would explain why the play/pause button does nothing since phones won't let you resume playing music while in a call...until you "hang up" (pressing the hang-up button on my earphones).
Does that work for you guys?
My moto 360 keeps disconnecting for no reason eventhough the phone is very close to my watch. I am only using one Bluetooth device
Happening with my LG G4 with Jaybird X2 and Urbane watch paired. So this is an android wear issue I suppose and not S6edge specific problem.
It's really annoying =\
Yeah i just got the jaybirds x2's and im having the same issue. The audio will play for a min or so then they get fuzzy and cut out. If i hold the end call button they will come back for a few minutes then do it again. I really like the headphones but im not about to keep $180 buds when i cant even enjoy them.
If you just disconnect the watch in the wear app it resolves the issue. The reason it happens is the app polls for the watch every few seconds which interrupts other BT communication. The main issue I have is when a headset is connected voice commands don't work on the watch. It says disconnected even though it is.
Same problem here. Also Plantronics Backbeat Fit and a Moto 360. I'll try your suggestion of disconnecting the watch in the Wear app. However, i also like wearing the watch when running, since the Strava app tells me the distance and heartrate (for which i use a Scosche BT heartrate monitor).
Seems like returning the Backbeat Fit is use less since its not broken.

Same issue with jaybird x2 and strava app using Runtastic HR BT monitor. Jaybird disconnect after 2 min of playing the music. I dont know how to fix this, for the moment i just stop using my bt headsets will training. This is so bad since we spent so much money on this products
