Hi all, i'am italian and i have a problem.
I have upgrade my s3 on 4.1.2 official and i have installed de GDFI02 file for my camera whit this tutorial.
Now, the camera is reversed (up to down) but the frontal camera is normal.
I tried to reinstall the rom with Odin (before I did reset to factory default, format /system and /sdcard) but the problem has remained.
I tried to go on *#0*# on megacam and also here there is the problem. I have tried to go on *#0*# and "Sensor" --> "Gyro Selftest" and the test is passed.
I tried to make a deep clean but the problem is still present.
I tried to re-installa SamsungCamera.apk. I copied the apk on system/app with root explorer (with permission), paste in the folder and reboot. The problem is still present.
I tried to install CyanogenMod but the problem is still present.
I'm disperate!! Please help me!!!
Sorry for my bad english!
That's a weird problem. Posting in hopes that someone who knows will see it because I have no idea. Your English is good btw

This is because you installed a camera firmware that is not for your phone. You must install the proper one. Before upgrading it did you see what was your previous camera firmware? ZDFI02 is not for all sgs3 phones.
Don't panic. If you find the proper cam firmware it gets fixed. Also a factory reset can do nothing. Cam fw has nothing to do with a Rom.

Yes, this is my screen before the upgrade.
I have installed the GDFI02.zip
Oh my god... is it different? Z and G... my error...
Now?
EDIT: the screenshot is when i had 4.1.1 !! I don't have the screen of 4.1.2
You had ZDFE02 installed but the latest version for your camera was ZDFF03.
Search and download one of these two camera firmwares (preferably the second one cause it's the latest) and follow the tutorial you quoted in order to install it! If you have a problem let me know.
Edit :I just found for you that you can download the files from : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2006128

Hi guys,
I've been looking for a solution but i couldnt find any.
I have a x10i and just updated to 2.1 with flashtool 0.2.6. after the upgrade the icon of the camera appeared flashing and dumb of me I shutted down the phone.
As a result I am on 2.1 but the camera is not working. When I open the camera application says that is not responding.
Any solution? maybe flash back to 1.6 and upgrade again? or upgrade to 2.1.1 that I just saw? can I upgrade only the camera firmw
Have to say that as I the *.ftf file downloaded I flashed again but the problem still
Before you used flashtool, what version were you on?
After you used flashtool, can you boot? make calls? Is everything fine except the camera?
Anyway, a SE Update Service or PC Companion repair is good start to get your phone working.
I was on 1.6
I just tried to update to the 2.1.1 and the problem still. Downgraded to 2.0.1 and still.
Now I am downloading the 1.6 . BTW what obsession with the rapidshare, megaupload & Co. :S are the hell of slow
Update service gets stuck (no always on the same place) and on the Pc companion the support zone just doesnt want to install. So no oficial ericsson solution for me

I suffered from scrolling cwm so i tried this fix: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27830023&postcount=41
It worked excellent but when i lock my screen and unlock it again it starts flickering like shown in this video: http://youtu.be/P6fMxjFdpJE
I have tried to do factory resets both from recovery and flash an original firmware. Nothing works.
Is it possible to get this fixed or am i screwed?

When you tried the fix noted above, I assume the screen didn't roll when you rebooted then into CWM recovery. At that point did you flash a ROM and THEN reboot to find the flicker after locking the screen, or did you do a reboot back into the same stock HC after flashing the bootloader and experience the problem?
I'm contemplating flashing this same bootloader because I have a rolling CWM5.5.0.4 right now and I want to stabilize it - but just so that I can root...not thinking about a ROM just yet...
Just to inform you all, i also had to flash a different bootloader after installing cm9 on my p7511, wich is in fact a 7510. For the records, pershoot made the new bootloader for exactly that issue, not backwards. But seems to work also.
What i deal now with, is that after flashing the uk ics for p7510 to my tab, the stock recovery doesn't recognize my sdcard. Can't mount sdcard...
Could be that a repartitioning with pit file will be necessary afterwards for us all.
Edit: thanks to the wise help of msedek, i know by now that my hind was totaly wrong. My mentioned point has to do with the Changes within stock recovery of ics, which have been made to prevent changes from there.
Getting more confident..
OK so it is sounding like this is definitely better. One more question:
I'm following the stickied root guide in General and that method uses CWM 4.0.0.4...I had reflashed that version. If I want to flash this boot loader should I flash 5.5.0.4 first? Or does it matter if I'm just trying to root right now?
EDIT: Flashed the bootloader which straightened out the recovery!! Successfully rooted after that. Downloaded root apps (ROM manager/Titanium/etc). Then turned off my screen - FLICKER CITY!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1680738 <<< THIS fixed it. Load this kernel into the root of your tablet and flash it with CWM. Seems to have done the trick nicely and I'm exploring my newly rooted tab! My wife no longer wants to kill me either.

I have the same problem on my P7500 3G and the minute i load the bootloader to fix CWM recovery rolling i get the screen flickering after lock screen.
Rom: ICS 4.0.4

Kernel: 3.1.10
Still stuck.
Hi guys,
Gtab 10.1 Wifi here. Fix didn't worked, somehow...
After installing official ics from Samsung and rooted, i had the same insane flicker issue. I followed this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1680738 - , flashed new kernel, and now i cant pass Samsung Galaxy Tab logo for some reason, not even past half an hour.
Im in a dead end, even tried installing back CM9 but it also wont pass the splashing blue screen.
Any ideas?
cheers!
EDIT : After some reboots, finally managed to boot into ICS (CM9) but now i was pushed back to the step 1, where I don't have a working camera, but I have root access and non official ICS from Cyanogen. I am afraid re-doing all my work and get stuck again in the scrambled screen after it updates the kernel..
I'm I missing something, guys?

Are you still having problems?does this guide here work for you?:

I've found something, the kernel flash package changes our devices' WiFi driver, that's why it doesn't work.
sorry for not giving a fix until tomorrow,it's sleep time here,I know my excuse will be accepted because you all care for basic human needs...
But please inform me if that guide(Pershoot's) has fixed your problem, thanks for that

Hi firstly I would like to apologize for the posibility of sounding dumb. I have recently tried to install HX camera mod on my sIII, which resulted in my camera not working. I then tried to revert back to the original camera to correct the issue. Subsequently my camera icon and function has disappeared and having formatted the phone has not resolved the issue. The phone is rooted and I am new to this. Thanks for any help or advice in resolving this problem!

Hello, I've got a problem, this morning I tried to mod camera (NOTE 2) to get slow mo etc.
I used stock rom rooted and U used to do operation a root explorer. So it said on instruction to follow some kind of steps delete samsungcamera.apk file and change it to modded, place ilb(?) and second file to system directory.
Okay after that my camera has gone but it come up as a new icon but it doesn't worked. Then my phone rebooted...
And it worked, but after while I tried to reboot it again coz the icon dissapperead completely so I thought to reboot it and since then I can't turn on the phone because it still on the samsung flashing logo.
What I tried so far.
=Odin - restore to stock rom (three UK) says FAIL
=Wiped up data, system using factory reset
=Rerooted it
Still nothing.
Cheers guys, I am willing to even pay for solution...

I think maybe you've followed different instructions with me, yesterday I just flash it (the note 2 camera) with CWM and nothing is happened
So if you failed to restore stock ROM, maybe you can try any other custom ROM (for example ARHD v14 -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797334). This ROM doesn't need ODIN, it uses CWM to flash it from your external/internal SD Card.
I don't know if this solution will work or not, but it is worth to give a try
Cheers mate, keep smiling :highfive:

Hi I has a similar problem this morning after trying to root with Insecure Kernel. I solved it. Please refer to my thread post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1973035 - Hope it works for you as well :fingers-crossed:
After about 2 days I finally and completely solved my problem.
What I've done to achieve full boot
*format and wipe out of data on sdcard as well as external
*format of system (was quite dangerous)
*referred to wipe app and rom from second post
*unplug battery for bout 5 hours and to be fair that's what helped because I tried several roms (on zip) before as well as rom that I've got currently
Still don't know how come it affected what happened but who knows.
Just want to say big thanks to everyone who has replied and supported me. I do appreciate that.

Hi. Your phone is made after 07.2014. It is a new hardware for camera. Try to study the forum in development area and see what firmware is compatibile for your phone.
There are some patches for this problem.
Yes, it's rooted. The downgrade was hard at first, because I used flash tool, that is not wright and the phone won't start. But when I found the wright version, it was wasy.
Camera works with kit-kat, but I don't want to use it, so I have to find something older to use.

I don't kno how to see which type of recovery I have. But I think, that there is a problem with it. As I sad, nothing installs via this method.
I think, that the recovery comes with row s136. I installed some type of CMD recovery ver. 6, but after I try to use it, the second time the phone brokes and it won't star. So I have to flash again with row s136. Maybe I have to change the recovery with some other?

TWRP is looking like this picture.
Do you have recovery like this ?
No. Mine was with the android robot on his back. I installed TWRP, than use it to install the fix file. Everything looks ok. After that I have message in the consol, that my phone wasn't rooted and if I want to root it. I swipe for yes, reboot and now it freeses on the lenovo logo... I have to flash again.
Second attepmt - the same. Something makes the phone to stop working, after I use recovery.
On the 3-4 attept I succeed to install some things, including CameraFixFull 15 - 08.2014 phones.zip - [Click for QR Code] , but nothing changes. I think, that maybe the recovery is not rigth? It says, that the instalation is successifull, but nothing appears to be changed.

Try to flash stock KitKat firmware. After flash see if the camera is working. If not... my opinion is that you have on big hardware problem.
