Is there a 4.2.1 ROM where Bluetooth actually works? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
Wondering if there is a 4.2.1 AOKP ROM where bluetooth actually works? Been forced to use the dreadful Sammy official builds as my beloved AOKP doesn't work with A2DP or even for basic hands-free calls with any of my 8 BT headsets or my car stereo.
Thanks dudes!

OT buy I would love to know why Sammy builds are dreadful where everything works and camera is better , but AOKP builds are better where half the things don't work.

Just a personal preference and opinion. Also, AOKP ROMs always have seemed faster and more fluid to me.

I've used revolt and Slim Bean and it doesn't work on either.

Indeed, there are several production variations of the i9300 international. There are at least 3 different WiFi modules, for instance - mine is a later one and has a Murata module that never seems to suffer from any funnies even when others do with identical f/w. There are at least 2 different main camera modules too. Other differences are likely, very likely.
Mine is H/W version 1.3 and has the Note 2 processor stepping; my CPU voltage table is quite different from the earlier ones - all lower values than those. viz: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36358307&postcount=265

It is a solid hardware, with minimal issues, backed up by a dead OEM and official support. If you could draw a parallel, equate it to a Sony PSP 1000 series. Such good products usually attracts and maintains developer base.
Million thanks to all the developers who stuck with it, developing for this phone, than just jump to the next flashy hardware.
Wow... great job...

Truth. They're about the same in terms of what works and what doesn't work. In fact I believe they have a test build right now that many users have reported fixed I believe bluetooth and rotation sensors.
Slick Rick is working on it. What I herd was that he couldn't get it to boot right now. Just wait. I am sure it will happen. That's my hope too.
Although I love AOKP I don't know if I could give up the TW goodies that I have in beans build. I am excited for beans to update to 4.2.

[Q] [Request] Android 4.2.2 ROM port over?

Would anyone else love to see the 4.2.2 ROM ported from the Google Edition One to the DNA? I have been trying to get some sweet stock Android on my DNA for a long time and it doesn't appear there are any ROMs on here or anywhere else that would accomplish that. Is it possible?

CM vs. Stock Android = two completely different roms. I want to use the CM 10.1 roms, but they don't have working BT audio yet. Maybe this phone's rom will help them get it working? The GPE rom will get tweaked and modded by the htc one community and hopefully those will be easily ported to the dna. Sense is cool and all, but I would like to free up some space on my stupid 16gb of non-expandable storage more than anything. Heck it might even get better battery life without all that htc stuff running in the background? Keeping my fingers crossed. :good:
There are plenty of stock roms. Not necessarily pure aosp, but there's cm amongst many other roms. And they are all about 99% working.

[Poll] What ROM is everyone currently using as their Daily Driver? 8/11/13

[Q] What ROM do you guys use as your Daily Driver?
Give your reasons.
List length of time on current ROM.
Provide the hyperlink to the explanation/download page of the listed ROM.
As of 8/11/13:
This POLL is created from theidoctor's list here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2297370
It may not not include all options out there for our Verizon S4's but it should include the most used and most stable. If your ROM that you use as your Daily Driver isn't listed make a comment and explain why you use it.
This POLL is not to show "Best ROM" it is solely for the purpose of showing "Most Used". This helps show newbies what ROMs are popular and what they should start with. It says to newbies that this or that ROM has been "tried and true" by the masses and should hold up for my demands...
Please Vote and then add your Reply to the Thread also.
Just curious if there is already a poll and thread on this why make another one?

We were missing a couple choices that were obviously wanted and used by many. I couldn't add them to that list.
Also this list you can pick multiple ROMs... IF you actually use multiple ROMs on a Daily basis.

Thanks! Wasn't trying to be a smart a$$ was just curious what was different.
In that case I have tried many roms but only use Eclipse TW based as my daily driver. IMO it is extremely stable and looks great with the aosp mix. Also its the only TW based rom with the AOSP toggles. No other TW based rom has that. Nitro is a genious and works extermely hard to make us all happy. This is the only rom that makes me forget that it is TW based

Bonestock has been amazing so far. Stock > ktoonsez kernel for me in terms of battery life. Only lacking an AOSP theme, but for a fairly new ROM, this is great, and the future is bright for the ROM, and Andy is great. ME7 gets rid of most of the bugs in MDK.

It seems to be a known issue with the OP2 as other phones (Galaxies and iPhones) are fine.
What I wish the most is pie like it was in jelly bean. What I mean you could see clock and battery from there and access quick settings and notifications.

Cm bug free? You are dreaming, my friend. I've tried Cm on every device I've ever owned and always found it to be among the buggiest ROMs I've ever used. I haven't had any issues with Oxygen and have no plans to flash anything else. Xposed gives me the few extra features I want so I have no need to try anything else. There is no way Cm will be more stable than Oxygen, not in a million years.

It works fine for me with my Pioneer head unit. Both Spotify and local music show metadata on my head unit. On a side note, the bluetooth on the OP2 is much more reliable than it is on my iPhone 6. There is also absolutely zero delay with the OP2 when my iPhone had a 500-1000ms delay that made videos painful to watch.

The issue appears to be that the OP2 reports Bluetooth AVRCP version 1.5 where most headunits expect v1.4. The work-around is to force reporting of v1.4 which is compatible with the widest number of units. Hopefully this will be addressed in the near future.
We are getting (fully functional) Marshmallow roms soon so i think the possibilities for devs are going to be even bigger. I might even try to make a rom myself
