[ROOT] Firmware 6.1.1.B.1.54

DON'T USE ON XPERIA U, XPERIA P AND OTHER XPERIAS. KERNEL FILES PROVIDED ARE ONLY FOR XPERIA SOLA!!!
This is the same method used by naruto20007 in [Root - Locked Bootloader] Xperia P 6.1.1.B.1.54 so thanks him, i've only packed the two kernel ftf files for sola.
This works with LOCKED and UNLOCKED bootloader
I assume that you are running 6.1.1.B.1.54 firmware
You need:
1. Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry LINK
2. 6.1.1.B.1.10 and 6.1.1.B.1.54 stock kernel ftf files LINK
3. Flashtool LINK
INSTRUCTION
1. Flash MT27i_6.1.1.B.1.10_KERNEL.ftf with Flashtool and reboot
2. Root using Bin4ry's method
3. Flash MT27_6.1.1.B.1.54_KERNEL.ftf with Flashtool and reboot
After flashing the 6.1.1.B.1.10 kernel your icons can turn black, don't worry and go on.
If you have unlocked bootloader you can also root by flashing TheBrainsKernel
Is there no way to obtain root without unlook BL right..?
this is for locked bootloader

No, you're going to flash only the kernel, not wiping

If I recall, flashing via flashtool will result in a wipe.

If you exclude userdata.sin data will intact
If flashing a part other than above file you can retain your data
Flashing kernel or baseband has nothing to do with data

Xperia P LT22_6.1.1.B.1.54_Kernel.zip
Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18: Click
Thanks to naruto20007 & neoxx3m for kernel files.
Thanks to Bin4ry for Rooting tool
Thanks man i rooted my device with ease by ur steps
...but the steps you detailed are *exactly* downgrading the kernel, rooting that, and then flashing the new kernel back—pretty much the very steps everyone would have done since the .54 update. How is this 'Without Downgrade'?

For some rooting methods, u have to downgrade to 2.3 so i mentioned 'Without Downgrade'
There is already a thread in the dev section abt this same process....

This has already been discussed in Bin4ry's method thread...
Not a new method. Rooted my phone this way even before I read your post...

also working on .75 :good:
Thanks a lot
You are a savior...I tried different method as shared on xda forums and still failed to root my Xperia....and now with the help of your post I finally rooted my Xperia P...thanks a lot.
Could you tell me why we had to flash our kernel first to ensure a perfect root....as to the methods mentioned on different threads they say to root the phone first and later flash the ROM or kernel??

when you flash a ROM by flashtool and default confs your root access will be lost, and about this methot: bcz older kernels are rootable and newer not.

if u have made a backup of your phone before flashing custom kernel or rom than just simply do a restore via cwm...or if dont have any back up than dwnl the stock ics frimware and kernel and flash them using flashtools..
If u dont have any problem then just Relock bootloader . And use SUS for stock ...
Then unlock BT again ...

No he doesn't have to relock bootloader..coz he doesn't need SUS
Sorry for troubling you guys, i already done it, the reason i want to flash back .587 firmware is because i installed a rom which is based on .587 firmware but i installed that rom in .431 firmware and because of that there is some bugs. So, i want to flash back the stock .587 firmware and reinstall that rom again. but i appreciate it.

[Q] should i relcok he bootloader of my sony wt19i?

I am using sony wt19i bootloader unlocked and rooted.. as bootloader is unlocked I cant go for the official update of .587 firmware.. so I downloaded the file and flashed it..I flashed it properly as it shows in settings that build number is .587 ... but I am also having the official update of .587 firmware simultaneously..
the rom which I want to flash requires .587 firmware.. so should I install the ROM or relock the bootloader and go for official update first?

Just go ahead flashing the new custom rom
And never do an ota update like that on an unlocked bootloader. Just flash the firmware using flashtool
Btw why did you open up 2 threads with exactly the same question?
