just a simple question, does anyone have any problems with wifi on gingerbread? I have cm7.2 on my Legend and its bootloader Unlocked, and my problem is that every gingerbread rom I try the wifi connects fine fast, no problem but after 2-3 minutes max there is no internet, even if te phone`s wifi is still connected. And if I turn off wifi, then on again I get about 2-3 minutes of internet before it happens again. This happened a while back and I can not find the cause of it. Meaning Stock eclair works 100%, Froyo to even every custom rom based on them, cm9 works great cm10/10.1 all great (I don't even have a problem with wifi during sleep on them), But on cm7, miui (gb), sense 2.1, sense 3.5 and every ginger bread base rom I get this thing, Tried reflashing roms (allways full wipe never upgrade), reflashed radios, tried tweaks from pimp my rom type, various applications like wifi fixer etc. the internet stops "flowing" after 2-3 minutes, And this is on 5 different wifi routhers and even on ad-hoc laptop wifi.
Any ideeas will be appreciated, its not an inconvenience but I am very curious

Running dcd 3.2.6 with radio rom 3.42.5 and ICS just keeps dropping. It will only stay connected for maybe 10 seconds before i have to hit connect again. I now have wmwifirouter installed and it seems to be working just fine. Why does my ICS keep dropping? Anyone else had this problem?
I am using nue rom or scotts rom I am not sure. I forgot. But I had the intermittent problems when running ICS but sometimes it would work for a while. Do you know that even thou Rev.a supports it the phone still drops the connection to internet for me and I have to restart the ICS? Maybe that the problem.
Do you ever get it to work?
I use to have this problem. Try uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them. If that doesnt work try reinstalling Activesync completely. good luck.

I sincerely love the 2.1, and i really appreciate the work and effort the dev´s are putting into the rom´s that are available free of charge.
But i cant find a rom that has working GPS on/off feature, everyone i tryed so far requires phone reboot..
so i wonder, why is it so hard to enable GPS without reboot?
and are there rom´s that have working GPS?
i tryed to raise the issue in some of the rom specific forums, but it appears to be a less prioritized bug..
For me I found that re-flashing the latest radio rom after installing 2.1 got GPS working as it should do.
apart from what klutsh said (which i can't reproduce btw), there is only one kernel available that works with the 2.1 leaks, and that kernel has a bad gps implementation.
androbin beta r2
with androbin beta r2 i use gps and work very good, without problem.
fix is quick, stability ok.
last week i try it with ndrive, cca 160km trip, without problem.
Yip I can confirm Switch on your gps, and wifi (just for the hell of it, not too sure about this part) reboot into recovery, flash the latest radio, reboot and all should be well.
I can confirm the opposite; switching on GPS, wifi and bluetooth, flashed new radio and booted up the phone.
turned off gps and rebooted, then enabled gps again (without restart).
still no gps reception.
using villain3.4 atm, but this has been persistant thruout all tested 2.1 roms.
None of the Villain Roms worked ever with GPS for me, but BeHero+ V1.2 is the first 2.1 ROM where it always does, and it even to a very fast GPS fix!
im trying androbin atm, havent yet gone outside (still downloading my apps over wifi), so i cant say if it works or not.
but i really think the devs should pool their resources/projects instead of releasing 15+ similar roms
I've never had a problem with GPS - used Navigator to get me home with voice navigation the other day (i knew the route but still) it was awesome
I would also like to know the definitive answer. All ROM's released are with working hardware lists including of GPS and no mention of prossibility of bugs but going through the replies, it seems like mixed reactions.
1) ON/OFF reboot bug?
2) Sleep mode bug with any Radio?
3) As quick fix as in 1.5?
4) Not inconsistent ie fixed once but struggle next time?
Kendong2's reply seems to suggest NO. Is it ?
So here is my problem. Everytime I install a new rom (stock or modded, 2.2 or 2.3), the GPS works great. Then after several hours or days, it stops working, and never works again until the phone is rewiped. Whats the deal?! I can't keep wiping my phone over and over and I never hear anyone talk about similar problems.
Things I have tried include:
Stock froyo roms
Leaked gingerbread roms
Modded 2.2 roms
Modded 2.3 roms
Different recoverys 2, 3, and 4
Different modem firmwares
Odin and even Heimdall to stock condition
None of this has staved it off for more than a week.
If it makes you feel better I don't get gps to work on any rom until I run gps aids from the market...I have to run the forced mode and i get a red light on the last setup line but it still works but I have to go into settings...location...and check the location based services on and off once then my gps locks on 6-8 satellites in just seconds...maybe worth a try since its free and it has worked for me on stock, com rom, and cm7 when nothing else would.

App
GPS works flawless on powerwash v1.1 with no aids. Only thing is sometimes I have to reboot my phone if I haves gps turned off for a period of time to get a instant lock. Been that way since ed01 froyo.
Hello all
I have tried to
- Modify gps.inf to point to my region (using adb in recovery)
- flashed 2 different radio firmwares
And still my legend takes anywhere between 4-15 minutes to get a fix. If I get a lock and turn off the gps and then again turn in on within a couple of minutes I get a lock within 20-30 seconds. But if I wait a couple of hours and then turn it on - it is 4-10 minutes all over again. When I finally get a lock it work falwlessly with copilot live.
Any ideas ? I'm aiming for the 5-15 seconds gps fix I see Iphones and several other phones/GPS waches etc. have.
I am running CM 7.0.3
Try CM7.1 RC1, gps works without problems
Remember to leave mobile data on, is needed to
synchronise the phone clock to the ntp server set on gps.conf;
once you have locked your location you may turn data off.

CM7.1 RC1 has a problem rebooting the phone when you turn
wifi on but I get around that by turning wifi on from
Settings/Wireless & networks/Wi-Fi settings
what version of radio do you have ??
7.13.35.05
Wow, CM7 nightly 176 is the bee's knees
I'm sticking to this until the stable 7.1 comes out.
But is the wifi reboot the only problem with the legend ? i have heard that the battery drainage is big.
I went to 7.1 RC to backup my SMS from before my vacation (where I flashed Sense), and went straight to Nightly 176. Oh my goodness!
There were no more WiFi reboots, and the biggest news for me: THE BATTERY DIDN'T DRAIN AS MUCH! IT WAS GREAT! (compared to 7.1 RC and, oh God, Sense) I no longer have to really depend on my second battery to last me the rest of the afternoon...maybe just an hour in the evening now
The battery experiences awesome life in Nightly 176. I would recommend you check it out.
Hi,
First of all don't shoot me for asking this, searching for 2 weeks now.
I'm trying to find out wich rom suits me the best. I tried CM10, CM9, Resurrection Remix, SlimICS, Slimbean and a few stock based ones.
All the roms i tried that are AOSP or AOKP give me the same problem. After a while wifi times out. The apps using this connection aren't even aware, they think they are still connected (gtalk for example). To be clear it is not the same problem as the wifi not working thing in Jellybean (bootloader).
Every where i searched (in-and outside XDA) i get thesame solutions: flash iCS first, use a static ip address, use wifi fixer, delete everything in data\misc\dhcp, use*#0011# (wich these roms dont even have)
on a stock based rom i don't have this problem at all. wifi stays connected for hours so its not a hardwareproblem.
Is there anyone who knows the reason for this problem? I tried with 2 completely different routers/networks but the problem remains.
I use the international variant GT-I9300
thanks in advance!
I've got a similar issue to this. Any help would be great.
Treare, how's your battery life since this issue started?
hi,
Well, i play so much with this phone that i have to charge twice a day. But this is since day 1 so hard to answer your question. When the phone is a little older i would be able to answer (when the playing becomes less)
did some more tests:
Hypergalaxy ICS: phone sleeping, wifi stays connected, no problems
Hypergalaxy JB: phone sleeping, wifi stays connected, no problems
Wanam ICS: phone sleeping, wifi stays connected, no problems
Wanam JB: phone sleeping, wifi stays connected, no problems
SlimICS: phone sleeping, wifi dropped, wifi icon says connected, all apps seem connected but aren't anymore
Slimbean: phone sleeping, wifi dropped, wifi icon says connected, all apps seem connected but aren't anymore
Liquidsmooth: phone sleeping, wifi dropped overnight, wifi icon says connected, all apps seem connected but aren't anymore
CM10: phone sleeping, wifi dropped overnight, wifi icon says connected, all apps seem connected but aren't anymore
Resurrection Remix: phone sleeping, wifi dropped, wifi icon says connected, all apps seem connected but aren't anymore
Temasek unofficial CM: phone sleeping, wifi dropped, wifi icon says connected, all apps seem connected but aren't anymore
Is there really nobody who has a possible fix please?
Hi,
How stupid can it be?
After hours and hours and DAYS of testing and flashing the only thing i did was changing TKIP/AES into TKIP on one of my routers. Never had any time outs anymore the last 2 days.
I never changed anything in my routers because every single device i have works without problems (3 laptops, 1 desktop, 3 symbian phones, 1 SGS2, 1 SGS3 with stock rom, a printer and a television).
So my conclusion is AOSP/AOKP/CM don't like AES (or TKIP/AES). Correct me if i'm wrong.
