Proud to be a Galaxy Note II owner! - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

I stumbled upon this video on YouTube and damn it made me feel good to have and use the galaxy Note 2. So I thought I should share it with my community.
Really good stuff, he also had other stuff about the note 2 as well.
Check it out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nh2NSLgaII&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Here is another one by the same guy, but I think I like the one above better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBkY3vg14JM&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Yeah. It's a good video. A few people have posted about it. I added it to the Galaxy Note 2 Community Links page a while back, along with some other useful vids. :good:

This was the video that really made me want the note. I'm actually using his UI and method to connect to my monitor.

It makes me think if this guy loves his phone so much, wait till he gets on xda and really see what our phones can do.

Really cool. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah that first video I saw back in late November when the Note 2 picked my interest and well let's just say that video is what I call a "seal-the-deal"er. Once I saw it, I knew I was getting this phone. I subsequently showed the video to my 20 year old younger brother who was up for a new phone, he had at the time a Droid X which was going rogue randomly if you know about the terribad Motorola self-aware bugs lol, so when he saw that Note 2 replacing PC vid he went nuts and was as hyped up as a grown man can get over a piece of technology.
I have an MHL adapter and have hooked my Note 2 up to my 24" 1200p monitor but I have yet to really find a need to actually use it. My monitor happens to also be hooked up to my 6 core 4.2Ghz/16GB RAM/5870HD 2GB desktop computer so why bother? What's to gain from it? Not a whole lot unfortunately. It's nice to go out to someone else's place and hook it up, maybe play some emulator games on it using bluetooth Sixaxis controller, but other than that it really is just for bragging rights.

^Two things:
1) a 20 year old is far from a grown-ass man. Far from it.
2) 1200p? Enlighten us with this new technology. Samsung or Sony might be interested.
Having said that, awesome video

yeah its going to be a LOOOONNGG 2 weeks....lol
Im switching 2 even though i have a small hand. So i don't need to carry my tablet around :-0. Put my tablet on CL
My company phone will still be the GS2, but it would be fun to upgrade that to the Note and have another Note as my personal phone.
I too am switching from galaxy s 2 original to the note. My gf will have the s2
I wish this phone was litlle smaller. I feel ashamed answering calls in public.

Came from the SGS2. Got me GNote today and loving it but still haven't made my mind on keeping it yet. The screen actually scares me. I feel like it could get broken so easy because it is so big.
Has anyone figured out how to change the resolution on the stock email app? It only shows like 6 emails cause the res is so big.

I currently have the S2 and got the email today saying my Note was shipped USPS - with Monday being a .gov holiday, it will be at least Tue before I can get my hands on it!!

Thanks baroy. I wish tiny was a littler smaller myself. I would prefer the normal to be about that size.
A lot of things seem kinda supersized. I feel like I am using a phone for bad eyesight everytime I go to end a call.

I'm sure once development picks up for this phone some devs will figure out some multi dpi magic that will make everything smaller.

I am using https://market.android.com/details?id=com.wemobs.android.lcdresolution with dpi set to 280..seems to work OK except few apps
I had an Epic Touch 4G on Sprint before switching to ATT for the Galaxy Note. I may actually return the Note and keep the GS2 as it seems faster and the screen in my opinion is sharper. No LTE in Seattle either so Sprint 4G speeds are actually faster than HSPA+. I'm not sure yet but the one thing I do like about the Note over the GS2 is the awesome calendar widget.

Awesome social game...perfect for the Note

Uninstall and reinstall and login through facebook... that fixed my hangs. The game is kinda like Charades and the goal is to draw a good enough picture that the other person can easily guess it. Provided you drew a good picture accurately depicting the chosen word you will get coins 1,2 or 3 that you can use to buy additional colors and cheats. I find this game to be a great way to communicate/interact with my wife when we are apart.

Chameleon Launcher Beta mini Review

So I posted this little mini review over on Google Plus and thought I would share it here.
Remember I played with this at 1am in the morning so it's probably not that in depth! LOL :silly:
Got my +Chameleon Beta email and installed it around 1am LOL....couldn't sleep....I have restless leg syndrome, sucks. Ended up until 2:30am playing around with it.
It's not as impressive as I thought it was going to be, to be fair it is in beta. But 5 widgets doesn't seem to be enough to properly test this thing.
A few things I would suggest to +Chameleon .
1. Make the grid resizable to smaller areas so you can fit apps on your home screen if you want.
2. Make the grid accesible to other widgets not just +Chameleon widgets.
3. Get rid of the dock or make an option to get rid of it.
4. Allow users to set their own wallpapers not just +Chameleon wallpapers.
5. Check your Instagram widget because mine worked for a few minutes and then stopped, even after taking it off screen and putting it back.
6. Allow for scrolling left and right not just right, the homescreen on a regular Android is center and you have other screens to the left and right. With +Chameleon you have the homescreen justified left and can only scroll right.
7. Allow for wallpaper to show in app drawer.
8. More animations needed when scrolling.
Overall this has potential as long as they can make widgets for several and I mean several applications. Such as Google Plus, Flipboard, Pulse, Currents, facebook etc etc.
Right now I still prefer Nova Launcher by +Kevin Barry because it offers so much more customization and options.
+Chameleon please don't take this is a bad review because it isn't. I realize this is still beta and I hope my input could help you out. Thanks

Interesting to read/see as I've been curious about this launcher. I've probably tried every launcher and yet this one slipped by until I heard about it a month ago or so.
Used to be adwex only, but since development on that stopped Nova prime by teslacoil has been my go-to.
Interested to see how chameleon turns out, hopefully it doesn't end up another niche like spb, tsf, ss, or hi. Always nice to have options. Wouldn't mind giving them my money to try it out. Lol.

I'm excited to have the better quick settings as toggles as they should have been from Google. Having them be shortcuts to their perspective settings is dumb. Can't wait to get off work today and try this ROM out!
I installed this a while ago and so far everything is running great, the only thing I noticed is that the changelog shows that it has the Trinity kernel but it does not appear to be there once the ROM is installed.
Edit: The only thing I've noticed is that when playing Need for Speed: Most Wanted the steering is now off about 8-9 degrees to the right, I have to hold the device tilted to the left to maintain a straight line while driving.
Edit 2: I got the steering issue figured out and all is well.

Nice to see 4.2 ROMs pop up here and there.
But considering all the complaints about the stock version, how's the battery life and performance? What about screen calibration?
I know benchmark results don't always have anything to do with real life but still it'd be fun to see some results in Quadrant, Velamo, Antutu.

I just ran it. I'm on cm11. No force closes.
Just curious what do you use XBMC for in android? I've tried to use it before but it didn't look useful.

you can search addons and video addons from within the app. google xbmctorrent and add that one manually google flashex205.sh it patches flashplayer so many of the streaming sites like hulu can work on your handset (from web browser)
Xbmc and Google Chrome cast ....ftw
There is a learning curve to use it but when you know it You can find everything you watch on TV plus Netflix and the new movies in theaters

No freezing issues here, all seems to be working fine. I admittedly don't use XMBC much on my phone (always have PC version running), but there does not seem to be any issues on my Note 3 running the latest CM build, and it previously worked fine with Maximus ROM as well.

Well that's cool to know thank you.
I'm off to try xbmc on maximus myself.
Maybe I'll have to include it in future builds.

What I use out for is to stream files from my HTPC (also running xbmc), which has about 750 movies and several dozen seasons of assorted TV shows, to whatever room I'm in, over my network. Great for watching late night stuff when my wife is asleep.
And like mentioned earlier, the streaming plug-ins are great, my personal favorite being the NHL Center Ice package stuff. The plugin doesn't care about ip/location, can watch all the stuff that's on blackout for my area.
Sent from my calculator watch.
So I've got xbmc all up and running, torrents, hulu, and all.
My only question is, is there a working Netflix plugin? (I do have a Netflix account)
