[Q] (strange) qwerty keyboard typing random characters - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I have a very strange issue with my i9300... the keyboard just went nuts... but the weirdest part is that only the qwerty keyboard is typing random characters.. if i go to settings and i set language to french (azerty) keyboard works properly. I didn't do any firmware update on the past 2 month and the issue just apeared today.. any ideas on how to solve this ??
Thank you.

How about installing a 3rd party keyboard?
there's loads of them in the google play

it would be a solution but it won't solve the problem... why is the stock keyboard app not working ?? i'll try flashing a new firmware ( im still on 4.1.1) to see if that helps

onscreen keyboard issue e10i

a friend of mine is experiencing (x10mini) huge lags and unresponsiveness of the onscreen keyboard since update from 1.6 to 2.1 this only happens when in input mode (soft keyboard) and aswell with market kboards... but texting and text input in general is almost impossible
the screen is responsive and menus are fast
tried many full system restores via pccompanion and tested it with nothing installed more than stock apps, with no success
someone knows a workaround ? or this is a repair service issue?
i have exactly the same problem, my earlier x10 mini did not have that problem, but this is ****, hate the lag on keyboard

Click to collapse
if possible and you are rooted can you post your build.prop or send me via mail so I can try to compare with mine?
to get it you can use adb mask controller here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=868423

[Q] Issues with Swiftkey X and Go SMS?

Hi guys,
just wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same problem i am - and if there might be a possible solution.
I am finding that Swiftkey X will not autocorrect or input word suggestions when typing in Go SMS. If i hit the spacebar mid word... it will leave exactly what i typed. If i mis-spell a word and hit space at the end of it... it will leave exactly what i typed.
Im not sure if the problem is with Go SMS or with Swiftkey - but when i use Swiftkey in the stock SMS app (SGS2) - it will function fine.
Thanks for any help.
Cheers.
try restarting the phone.
that should fix it
I use the two apps but don't have the problem.
Have you choosen "Rapid" typing style i SwiftKeyX under Advanced?
Thanks for the replies guys.
Im afraid i never got a chance to test the reboot suggestion - i uninstalled another SIP i had (slideit) and found that swiftkey worked fine after that.
while i was having the issue...i had played with many of the settings and tested it in different apps (browsers, default sms/email clients, etc) and found that sometime swiftkey would behave, and sometimes it wouldnt.
now i am having no issue.
thanks again.

[Q] CM10 Native keyboard problems(P4wifi)

Hello,
This is mainly a question I would want to post in Android 4.1.1 - CyanogenMod 10 Preview thread, due to the fact that I’m a newbie on this forum, i can't.
I really hope that someone can help with my problems.
So, general description:
Galaxy tab 10.1 (p4wifi)
ROM - cm-10-20121109-EXPERIMENTAL-p4wifi.zip
ROM runs very smoothly, big thanks to all the developers and especially pershoot who is working hard to make this ROM tick.
So, I have a Bluetooth external keyboard and it works very well. But after installing it the native keyboard stopped working properly. Every time I wanted to use it: it would appear, I would type some characters and after 1 sec or so (very random) it would disappear, the keyboard selector in the bottom right corner would disappear with it. Then the keyboard/keyboard selector reappear after some time, without me doing anything (4-5 sec, also random), and when I would try to type more it would disappear again after a few characters.
In the beginning I though it's the external keyboard that's causing it. So I factory reset/ dalvik cache removed, but the problems remains even if the BT keyboard it’s not yet even connected with the tablet, on a clean install of the ROM.
Also it appears that the spell checker (red lines on the bottom of the words, PC style) doesn't work neither.
Tried Thumb keyboard and it works very well. But I would really want to know what happened, did I mess smth up.... Plus I’m writing a lot in French so the spell checker helped me a lot.
Thx for your help !!!
thx

hope someone knows how to fix this.
Thanks in advance
I think it was a known issue that the keyboard dock will no work properly with this ROM

Problems with several keyboards with my galaxy s2

Hello.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 with ICS 4.0.3.
I have searched the problem in this forum but i haven't found nothing similar.
With Samsung's keyboard i haven't any problem, but doesn't work any of the keyboards i've installed, and i've tried with Swiftkey, Kii Keyboard and Go Keyboard.
With Swype (bring it stock), a few months, began using up cpu and i have to disable. Also Swiftkey worked a few months, and now it change to Samsung's keyboard automatically. Kii Keyboard also uses up cpu and Go Keyboard freeze, even it freeze Go Launcher.
For what it's worth, i've uninstalled and reinstalled and throughout the day it's work perfectly but when i've turned off and turned on, the nex day, it's failed again.
I hope you can help. Maybe it'd arrange with a wipe, but i don't go to such extremes. If you need any more information of the smartphone, say me.
Sorry for my English.
Thanks and a salute.
up up!

Multiple letter problem

I have problem on my z2 which is when I wrote some message, it's show multiple letter even when I just pressing one letter on my keyboard. For example, let say I touch letter 'H' on my keyboard, then it will come out with double letter like 'Hh'. The problem occurred after a week I upgrade lollipop to marsmallow using pre-rooted package. I have downgraded to lollipop from marshmallow using flashtool but still no luck and the problem still occurs. I also test my screen using multi-touch test app from play store and indicate that there are like 2 finger hit the screen in certain area.
I have attached the screenshot from that multitouch test application. Please help me with this problem. Sorry for my bad English.
I had this problem too some time a year ago or so.
It was solved by
- Changing keyboard (to Google keyboard for example)
- Using desktop-version of websites in chrome for example
...if I remember correctly.
I think it's a bug in Xperia keyboards auto correct feature, maybe disabling it could help too.
If i remember correct, this problem also appeared more in Opera than in Chrome....
