So I got this tablet of CL and it seems to be stuck in demo mode. Settings is blocked and the zDemo app is password protected. Does anyone know what to do here?

you need to Hold Volume UP key and press Power key, and when you see the Sony logo on screen, release just the power button.. (keep pressing the volume up button)

Hi,
I saw your post, but it was about 2 years ago. I just bought a Sony Xperia Z tablet, but it is stuck in demo mode, what can I please do to restore it factory settings. Does this same process you highlighted applies? Thank you

The post you are referring to is about the Sony Tablet S. Please read the Sony Xperia Tablet Z forum, then post your XTZ problem/questions there and I or someone else will try to provide you with a solution.

do you guys know how to perform a factory reset to get it back to "out of the box" state where you select the language, time, wifi connections etc....?
pressing the reset button didn't do that for me.
just wondering...
Go into settings and you'll find an option to do a factory reset. The reset button is just a reboot button in case the tablet hangs and the power button won't reboot it.

yeah I'm dumb, I was just doing that when you posted! Thank you!
should have known that...
There is another way and was posted here before (didnt try it myself though):
1. Turn off the device
2. Press the power and Volume + the same time
3. When the device turns on, release power while still holding Volume +
4. Wait until it boots into recovery mode.

Help!! I was attempting to encrypt my device when the process failed. Optimus G boots up and shows "Encryption unsuccessful". It gives me a button to tap to Reset phone and the button responds to tap but the device never resets. I've attempted to reset using Power and Vol down but as soon as I press power key and it shows confirmed, it seems to freeze the phone again. I have to press and hold power key to get it to reboot.
Any suggestions?

I figured that's maybe what I've been missing. What are the steps to enter the stock recovery? I was only aware of PWR + Vol Down keys as an alt reset.

Turn it off then hold PWR + up to get to the bootloader then hit vol down twice (to select Recovery Mode since the menu is actually hidden) and hit the power button to select it.

Right. Sorry, I assumed you had CWM (with bootloader unlocked) installed. You can always use LGNPST, though I'm not sure if you need to have an unlocked bootloader. I'm sure another forum member can better assist you.
Since you're stock, maybe you can get it replaced via warranty? It failed using a standard menu item, shouldn't be an issue.

Forget what I said
If on stock, press Power+Vol Dwn, power, power yo accept. That does a stock reset.

Hard to think that just a game would cause that to happen, but weirder things have happened...
I found this:
How to boot device into Safe Mode.
1. Press and hold the Volume - button and power button (while device is on).
2. When screen turns black release the power button, but remain holding the Volume - button.
Device should boot into safe mode.
If this works for you, then you should be able to boot the tablet with just the preinstalled apps available and then you should be able to uninstall the game in question and reboot normally.

Can you navigate to the Recovery option there? If so, your factory reset option should be there. I still think it would be able to boot into Safe Mode so you can just uninstall the offending app and not lose your data. But anyway, if those options don't work, you could try grabbing an update zip from Asus and see if applying that will get it going again.

What app did you install, by the way, so others might be warned against using it to avoid this situation...?

Typically, in stock recoveries, when you see the Android guy there's usually a button combo to get the commands for reboot, reset, update, etc to pop up. Usually this would be like hitting the Volume keys together or some combo of Volume and Power buttons. Unfortunately, there isn't that much info about this particular Asus tablet as the TF300 and TF700 that I am more familiar with, so can't tell you with absolutely certainy how to do it.

Sorry about the OTA zip, I didn't read it closely enough for the install instructions. I don't know why you think the system is gone seeing as how the stock recovery can't wipe that partition...?

You can try and sideload the zip via recovery (I couldn't get ghat to work, got the same error)
Factory Reset from the Asus Manual

Press both volume buttons to access recovery commands, find reboot with volume keys, press power to select. Done
Power lead out, Power down, hold volume down and power on, release power on when "In search of the incredible" screen shows, use volume button to select "Recovery Mode".
When Android with open stomach shows and "No Command" press and hold volume up and power button for 3 - 5 seconds then use volume button to scroll to wipe cache / wipe data use power until to select.
If it doesn't work try again until it does.

OK, I'm kinda new to these forums as well, although I do have a certain amount of experience with Android. The simplest way to unlock your device would be to factory reset it (this will erase all the data on your device though). Because you can't unlock the tablet to get to the Settings menu and do this the usual way, you'll need to do it from recovery. From a quick bit of Googling, this is how you get into recovery mode and factory reset from there on your device (note that I don't own an MSI Enjoy 7 so I can't verify this, but it's pretty standard stuff):
1. Make sure your device is completely switched off
2. Press power and volume down at the same time until an Android logo appears
3. Now release the two buttons before holding the power button and pressing the volume button ONCE (don't hold it) and a menu should appear
4. Release the power button and use the volume buttons to scroll to an option which goes something like this: "wipe data/factory reset"
5. Press power to choose this option and again use the volume buttons and power button to confirm (if it asks you).
6. Your device will be reset and unlocked! :good:

Are you sure that there is no factory reset option in the stock recovery? There should be or else you wouldn't be able to factory reset it at all (even if you could unlock the device). Just to clarify, you don't need to be able to unlock the tablet to factory reset (at least that's the way it's been on every Android device I've ever used)

Alright man! Problem solved! After second attempt of web searching, I got the solution. You're right! I thought I lost my Factory Option because my tablet only display an Exclamation point inside a triangular shape with an android logo beside and no factory options to access. The web says that means the factory mode was already deleted and cannot be accessed anymore. But fortunately I got the true answer. I need to press again a combination of buttons in order to access the Factory Mode.
This is what I did:
a) Completely shut down the tablet first.
b) Press power button and volume up simultaneously and hold them for a while; then remove power button after 5 secs.
c) Wait for the green Android icon with a triangle and an exclamation mark to appear before removing the volume up.
d) Press the Power button and Volume up simultaneously for the Factory mode to appear. Remove both.
e) Here you are, the set up screen will appear, and you may proceed to do your selection.

HELP! Blue Wave 8 33GT tablet stuck in recovery mode with "No command" message
I got my Blue Wave 8 33GT (not HD+) tablet completely bricked. First of all, I know this is not really a popular device and some of you might not have a single knowledge about this one, but I hope in any way you might help me get this device working again. Thank you in advance!
Some info about this device:
Bluewave's website: Wave 8
Android OS version: 4.4 KitKat
Device processor: Rockchip-based (RK31)
What just happened? It suddenly reboots while I'm playing and gone into recovery mode with an Android and a "No command." message. Now it won't boot the system anymore whenever I reboot, it always going into this recovery mode.
It has no volume buttons, just a reset, a hard back button and power button. Holding down the power and back button goes into the recovery mode directly. Through normal boot, it flashes the Bluewave logo twice then goes into the recovery. While the reset button immediately turn the device off. There's nothing else I can think of that I can do in this case.
My laptop can recognize it as an ADB Device in recovery mode and I think I may be able to flash it via Rockchip BatchTool, but the instructions I've read states that the device should be up and with a USB debugging enabled which I am not currently able to do in recovery mode. Device is rooted and working totally fine until this happened.
Anyone got into this kind of problem and able to go through it? Please, any help is greatly appreciated.
P.S
Just let me know if there are any additional info I could give you.
What about hard reset.

"Long press the power button to restart the device. If restarting fails, hard reset the tablet by poking the Reset hole using a pin. " it is from FAQ
maybe this could help.
1. Press the power button to get the option menu for
Power off
Reboot
Silence phone option.
2. on that menu you have to hold down that power off option on your touch screen while also holding down the home push button on the side of your tablet.
3. This brings up a screen to reboot into safe mode..(these are the 3 steps the company does not tell you that is why no one gets it to work.
4. HIt yes for safe mode and then hold down your power and home buttons on side of tablet till the dopo Logo appears.
5. Release both buttons and hit the power button one time and then hold only the home button down till a menu option appears.
6. Use the home button to move down to factory reset and press the power button to select. Once it says complete then use the power button to select reboot.
Problem solved. Hope this will help everyone out.
The only way is to remove the battery, attached again the battery then power it on their is no hard reset on blue wave the go to settings factory reset
