Okay, I am having trouble with only ONE of my contacts not playing a sound when I receive a text from him. Everyone else it goes through, but it's driving me crazy that his texts don't play a sound. I've tried looking through his contact information to see if there was anything in there, tried making a new contact file for him, checked my notification settings, but I can't figure it out. My sound plays for every other person in my phonebook.
This problem is also not phone specific. I had this problem on my Amaze, but bought the N4 last week, and it doesn't play the sound for this contact either.
Has anyone ever come across this? I can't stand it!

In the last day or so, I've developed quite a problem with sms and the photon.
I noticed this morning that I wasn't recieving txts from the Twitter line (40404, you can get tweets without an account). Then I started to recv the same message from Monday. Over and over again. I thought it was Google voice, so i unistalled that, but the problem continued. I went to the sprint store, and they rebooted it, and i started recving all the txts I missed, about 40. Just now, I was having a convo with a friend, and I stopped recving txts. Then i got a message from like 4 hours ago. I rebooted, and it gave me some missed messages, just like before.
Is this happening to anyone else? Or should I have them swap the hardware? It's amazing how a luxury like sms gone missing can really put you off.
I've noticed that as well on one of my devices. In the past i've done a couple of things to resolve the issue. One was to send a text message to myself and the second was to send "allow all" to short code 9999. Note that the latter will remove all "block" rules.

I doubt it would be a hardware problem myself but if they're going to let you change devices why not....are you using any type of 3rd party sms apps? Did you port your number into google voice?

I'll be doing my thing, living my life, and all of a sudden I'll get an email or SMS and my SGS2 running CM7.1 will randomly decide to play an MP3 instead of my chosen messaging tone (which is Link collecting a rupee).
It usually changes it to a specific song I have on my phone, but once has changed it to a different messaging tone I had used before.
I can then manually set it back to my link collecting a rupee sound but a day or two later it'll decide it wants to play "Take This One From Me" by 'It's True'
I can't seem to pin down why It's happening though.

I have a very annoying issue. I am on android 4.0.3. I set up my contacts to show only phone contacts as I always have. I had sgs2 before so this is just another unit.
So, I setup a contact picture for one special contact and I can see the small thumbnail next to the name. Ooook. Now, when I call or get a call from that person the photo doesnt show. Just the regular samsung calling screen. Never happened with another unit.
Second issue is with the ringtones. No.matter what song I setup for a contact, phone only plays the general ringtone.
I dont understand what is happening. I dont want to use a 3rd party app, for such basic function.

I recently got an SGS5, and I noticed something that has started to annoy me. Judging on what I can read online and from googling I am not the only one annoyed by it. But so far no one has actually provided a viable and working solution as far as I see it.
Problem:
I have several contacts with multiple phone numbers under them, and when I get texts from the various number it creates one new thread/conversation pr number they text me from and its getting to the point where it is getting annoying. Isn't there some way to fix or correct this?. ie where the phone defaults to respond to the last number it got a text from, from that contact, or that it simply defaults to sending a text out on the default selected number or asks?.
I am not looking for something or a solution that will merge all my threads back in time, but for something that works going forward so that all threads created from today and onwards gets merged.
I know Google Hangout apparently can do this, but I don't want to use Google Hangout as my default messaging app, and I am presently using HandCent in case there is a setting inside Handcent that I just need to set.
But I hope someone might have a working solution to my problem/issue & thanks in advance.
1: ) When contacting a business via phone I seen a voice to text service. Not sure where that was coming from. Never figured that out except it looked like visual voice mail? IDK, says transcript on the phone log. Some of them don't have it.
2 When my wife contacted a business yesterday I received a script on my phone while she was in text or a call. Unsure , We have each others google accounts on each others phones. Easier for apps, calendar etc. She is on a different network, so not sure why a text or a voice chat would come across .
When clicking on the program used it says google play services.
3 Some company left me a voice mail last week and I seen a notification and cleared it, now I cannot find where it was at or location it was. My regular voice mail with ATT is working , but some voice mail goes to Youmail if not a business . This one in particular wasn't sent to either one. Just the notification and gone.
Looked like a similar format of the voice transcript.
I contacted ATT ( They have no clue)
Asked in discord , some help but nothing explaining what it is.(Thank you for the one who helped some)
Asked on Google community help ( no answer ).
And yes I give it time, few days , week etc.
Here is a screen shot of the text or voice that my wife did that started coming across my phone for some reason. If I close it out I have no idea where to find the transcript?
Google pixel 6 pro rooted.
Help for figuring out this "feature" would be appreciated.
