Hi,
Wanted to post this under the main thread but can as im fairly new here. Wondering if someone can help. Running i9300 with XXEMA2 Wanamlite and Siyah 1.8.9 Kernal, with JKAY 14.91 and Red Illusion theme.
Just upgraded the framework and the Deluxe app from 14.9 to 14.91 however when I go into Deluxe settings it says theres a newer version available and when I look at the Deluxe settings it says my Framework version is still 14.7 even though all the others are 14.91. Is that correct? or do I need to do something else?
Also, after flashing 14.91 all the settings disappeared and everything went back and I had to set everything up again. Is there a way of saving off your settings before upgrading and then restoring them back to save you having to go through all the settings again?
Any help/advice appreciated.
Thanks

I tried to but Im too new, it says I have to make 10 posts before I can post in that section... Hence my post here and the reference.
As far as I'm aware you need the corresponding framework to your firmware, also I found after a flash the settings are sometimes disabled/don't appear......a quick dive into jkay deluxe app and change a setting and back again seems to wake it up and being back old settings, but these are just my observations
You can make Backup and Restore within the Deluxe Settings app
Just press on menu key

You had to simple backup the old settings and when you update you restore. ( use the menu key to open backup and restore in jkay srttings)
About framework 14.7 yes i have that too but u can ignore it because it doesnt afgect anything in functionality.

Its ok guys, figured out what it is, if I just flask JKay Deluxe then everything is 14.91, then once the Red Illusion Theme goes on the framework returns to 14.7, will post in the Red Illusion theme thread about this.
Thanks for all your help

I flashed the latest version of the ICScrewD rom yesterday, version 1.2. Once i got everything up and running, there was no CRT off animation or the Jkay settings mod installed on the phone! There are still all of the lockscreen icons in my SD, but no Jkay settings. Is there anyway to install/enable this stuff? I've looked everywhere, but no luck.. Please, a little help would be great!
On my phone its an app called "deluxe settings" if you don't see that you might have to reflash
Edit:
How to mod Android 4.0.3 to close apps via long-press the back button?
Buuuuuuuuump
You could try out this tweak: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1425612 (credit to super_paws)
It's posted in the Nexus S forum, but the creator states its for stock 4.0.3 OTA, with no mention on which devices it works on. So I suggest making a Nandroid backup before testing this out.
Note that it's not a ROM or a kernel, just a flashable zip that adds a few features, including the force close feature that you're looking for.
Once you flash it, you must go to Settings -> Developer Options, and enable "Stop app via long-press".
Hope that works out for you.
Thanks to you ma friend
Will test this out and give feedback ASAP
edit:
sadly it ends up in a bootloop. i will try to contact the developer and ask him.
Edit: This file is for Nexus S Stock ICS only.
Is anybody able to tell me which file i have to modify for closing apps via long-press the backbutton?
Or where i should start searching. i have absolutly no clue.
Whats wrong with the default Long-Press Home method?

I have noticed that this feature comes with the latest ICS CM9 build v1.1 from tytung.
Anyway, thanks for the hint!
Hello everyone,
I'm having problems installing the Slim ROM. I have an SGS2 I9100.
First let me tell you what I did.
I've had my phone rooted with CWM for awhile, but have been running a Stock samsung ROM on ICS. Wanting to upgrade, I found slim and downloaded the i9100_4.2.zip file. Then I went downloaded Slim_Gapps. I flashed first the ROM than Slim_Gapps and everything went fine. Except I had no keyboard at all when the ROM loaded up. I managed to log into the google play store, by texting my username/PW to myself and copy pasting them to log into google. However, I was getting a server error in the play store. I tried clearing data from the store and all that but no luck.
I figured I must have the wrong software or messed something up. So I went back to and downloaded Slim-GT-I9100-2.8.0-OFFICIAL from the slim site again along with the md5sum fix. I rebooted to recovery, wiped cache, dalvik cache then just flashed, however, now my phone just hangs up on "Opening update package..." I flashed Siyah-s2-v5.0b2.tar from using ODIN, but the problem persist. When I tried to reflash using the i9100_4.2 I get the same problem. After freezing on "Opening update package..." for awhile, the phone reboots into CWM. I simply don't understand what the problem is.
That's everything I've done. What I want is to get my phone up-to-date with the Slim ROM and 4.1 Jellybean (If that's possible?)
Any help is greatly appreciated. I've been trying to solve this problem for hours and have become incredible frustrated.
P.S. I tried posting exact links to where I got all my files from but apparently that's not allowed.
Ok, after trying to install SlimBean 2.8 again it worked. However I now do not have a google play store. I have installed slim gapps but still do not have the store. Thoughts?

Thanks, that worked, but is the play store supposed to have a black background? And why does it have to be Multi DPI? (Curious)

The black background is the inverted version exactly the same in every way as a normal play store app. The black background is a power saving mod as it's less for the screen light up . The multi DPI is so it can recognise devices with differing DPI settings. (i think) Its an option to change in settings. Stock slim is dpi 182 i prefer 240 . Multi dpi play store will work with both

Ah alright, I didn't realize the black background had power saving purposes, I thought it was either a glitch or just supposed to look cool. I just got done messing with the DPI settings. I think I settled on 210? 182 was a bit too small. Thanks for your help and info.
Slim ICS / JB on S ll
Hello Calliddus.
I do not intend to hack your thread, just need some help.
Am new to the forum and to android. Have read the noob tutorials posted around.
I bought a new Samsung Galaxy S 2 which came with ICS 4.0.3 running on it.
I intend to install Slim bean ( if possible ), or Slim ICS (if its more practical) on the phone.
You seem to know what you are talking about, and I can't post on the Development threads in the forum.
Hence if it isn't must trouble, can you please guide me through the following ?
1. I tried looking, and since I couldn't find anything, would i be right if I assumed that installing a Slim ROM (Either ICS 4.0.4 or JB) over the Stock Samsung 4.0.3 , would not be something wrong or undesirable to do ?
2. I am not a very heavy or avid user, but I would like a simple, plain and glitch free OS with the advance customization options, so should I just stick to Slim ics or should i think about Slim bean (assuming its possible to install it on my device) ?
3. What backup method would you suggest, assuming I will fail in my upgrade and will have to go back to stock once again? ( Nandroid, CWM recovery, etc.. )
I have a lot more questions, but not as important.
Your help will be appreciated.
hi there,
i like to have the reboot to download and reboot to recover options as additional options in the reboot menu.
i know that this is included in some roms or in jkay deluxe framework but i like the original rom and also the appearance of the background, color.
so anything i found made to much changes.
is there anything out that adds only this reboot functionality to my SIII ?

Check the themes and apps section, there is a thread for it with flashable zips for stock roms.

thanx for your 5 seconds search, i search many minutes but didn't find anything.
seems to be infact of wrong search criteria.
unfortunately i didn't found anything working for my XXEMC2 odexed stock rom, only for deodexed or with alternate kernel ...
but i hope in a week or two there would be something available.
so thank you for the right search criteria

A search tip often best.
Google ......... xda sgs3 your question .

droidgram fast reboot
odexed roms are not modding-friendly, that's not gonna change
And in general I can't see any disadvantage of flashing clean JKay Framework, it doesn't change your theme in any way, only adds missing features.

i've got one, following the link from chrismast, that work fine.

Hi. I have installed Pardus HD version 4.1.2 S4 Edition FINAL. After finishing the installation, I have then installed Deluxe Settings through Play Store and have made some tweaking using it. Is that all that I need to be able to fully "enjoy" the greatness of the ROM?
If so, am I able to flashed another theme to this ROM as I am not a fan of the white S4 theme that has been included with the ROM?
Really hope to have an answer to this. I'm merely a noob and needs confirmation before I accidently brick my phone.
Thank you in advance!

You should be able to flash themes, it's not highly recommended to flash theme on an existing theme, but I do it all the time and I've never had a problem. The worst that could happen is the you get a bootloop, just reinstall the rom and that's it

Hi Danny. If I were to change the theme, I should get the theme that is compatible with the JKay Deluxe Settings that I have right? Its that all?
If I were to get bootloop, will I be able to easily go to Recovery mode?
Thanks in advance.

To fully use the customization that jkay provide you should flash jkay compatible themes like this one, this is my favourite... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2165980.
Yeah, just hold volume up, menu and turn off key at the same time, and it will reboot in to recovery
