Recently,I flashed an experimental CM9 based rom on my Xperia Sola, which made its touchscreen inoperable and also the hardware touch buttons.I reflashed stock ICS ftf, hoping that it can again make my touchscreen operable but it didn't.I searched many threads but i didn't find any solution for this. Also Xperia mini had the same problem.
Lastly i thought why not flash stock GB on it and i did and voila it worked again.
P.S:My Xperia Sola has unlocked bootloader, but i think the same will work for locked bootloader and don't say we can't install CM9 on locked bootloader because we CAN!!
And also the same method should work on all other Xperias.

Can we really install it on locked? You sure?
Then if we can why you had such a serious problem?

Touch screen is not working after flashing
hi dear guys,
I have got the same trouble with my Sony Xperia Sola cell phone. I wanted to upgrade official installed Android to a higher version using SETools but accidentally I flashed ST27i (Xperia Go) on the phone. So the cell phone didnt turn on and I noticed what I have done!
then I reflashed it with MT27i (Xperia Sola) using SETools again but after the cell phone turned on, I noticed its touch screen is not working.
I reflashed it using Sony Flash Tools using many versions of Android but none of them worked.
any help would be appreciated
Thanks in advance

hey guys. please help me. i'd flash an ics fw via flashtool on my xperia sola last month ago. after flashing, i've find there was no problem. but accidentally, i leave my phone in my cabinet for two days that not using because we have a family vacation. when i arrive back to it and use it, the problem shown (i think that's too ridiculous because what problem will insist if you leave your phone idel)
and i have read a thread that why not flash again in gb fw. i did it but still not working -_-. note that i don't fall down the phone often and i think that the problem is not the touch screen. please help me . i'm about throw this phone because of frustration T.T

Yes..it is 100% plausible but it occurs mainly due to hardware failure such as dropping the cellphone, any impact on the touchscreen etc....but you may also try the soln given in my last post..may be it can help.

Edit:Try this bro
Flash sola's GB ( don't turn on )
Flash go's wrong ftf ( dont turn on )
Flash SOLA' gb again ( dont turn on )
Flash Sola's ics ( u can now turn on lol)
That is it if it have not work then sorry it is a hard-break

Hello guys, this is what happened to me yesterday. I wanted to flash stock ics to my SXS via flashtool. The problem was that flash tool got stuck at 2% so I thought I needs some time and left it there for quite some time, when I came back it was still at 2%. I didn't see any other option to unplug my phone. When I powered it on sony boot logo appeared and a phone with exclamation mark. I tried to repeat flash process and got the same result. Tried with 2 different pc-s, different usb ports/cables and older versions of flash tool. Still the problem is there :S
Any solution to this?
P.S Oh one more thing I can flash kernel successfully and I did, I actually can get into recovery and restore, but unfortunly problems remains.

Then my friend you should get it to service center.
Cuz by the looks of it you have tried every possible thing to revive your phone.
But many people who retorted the same problem as yours got their phones fixed by choosing repair option in seus

I read in an article that Sony will give warranty if the damage is not due to the flashing of custom ROM or rooting.

guys plz help me with some solution led green blinking is my phone dead ...????????
Have you tried those steps?
i have a friend using samsung galaxy s2, and he said he is using some special modified usb that will make the bootloader enter download mode so that he flashed original firmware into his phone after it is bricked...
for x10 mini pro is there such cable? i need it because i think my phone is hardbricked...
it is bootloader unlocked and i flashed the original stock rom into the phone(in attempt to save condition where flashing customised kernel wasnt successful and it keep bootlooping...), and now i cant root it, cant On the phone to enter usb debugging mode, i cant do anything about it, i read so many threads but really didnt help me... , i can say that i tried all of them already...the phone just keep bootlooping the sony erricson logo on and off... using SEUS also didnt help because it shows i have latest version... and now i cant even flash other kernels because flashtool will show some error anyone facing this problem before? before i throw my phone my last hope will be the special usb that i want to find

Samsung phones can only be flashed using special cables, that is true, but SE provided a flashmode that always works, by turning off your phone and pressing the back-button before you plug in your usb-cable... In regards to that they're miles ahead of Samsung. Do you know how to get to Repair mode in SEUS or PC Companion?

the repair mode is something like flashing it using flashtool right? wait for the screen asking to connect with flashmode, off phone, press back button then plug in usb, but then SEUS shows i am having newest software? there is guide to make SEUS identify i am not having newest software version, but that is by turning on the phone, and getting file manager to edit something .prop files?
but sadly i really cant do that because i cant even turn on my phone now... what should i do? any other way to change the files inside my phone to make the SEUS detect i am not newest software so that it can download and flash the original rom inside my phone?

Try to flash THIS with flashtool, it's complete latest (2.1.1.A.0.6) firmware (Kernel and ROM) from SE.
(It comes in at about 213.5MB, although the site may report it's smaller. It will keep downloading until it's done though)

yup, problem i cant flash roms other than stock roms because of locked bootloader...now i can only flash stock kernel, but cant update via SEUS/PCC because it cant detect newest version, probably because of 2.1update 1 version...do you have version 2.1 stock kernel? just wanna try other alternatives... by flashing stock older rom, hopefully SEUS will update it to 2.1update1 version...so far method that you provided now, and method that i think now is the last 2 method...

Yeh, you got it That is the basic procedure. As long as you follow the instructions in the kernel and rom threads carefully you should be ok.
The .ftf is made from the Sony Ericsson firmware that gets downloaded when you repair using SEUS or PC Companion. Not everyone can use the repair-option, that's why i keep it lying around

Follow the instructions carefully, for JB you need to do wipe data/factory reset (in xRecovery or CWM) before you flash the new kernel, and you have to format /system partition in mount and storage menu of CWM to get the proper partition size. After that you install the nAa's JB ROM and appropriate Google Apps, and if that is successful, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache and in advanced menu wipe dalvik-cache and wipe batterystats... Then Reboot and wait...

Try checking the MD5 of loader.sin, it should be 4817e32bf56f9461c31d135d512fa912 (and the entire FTF should be 7f852acbd22eeef0319aee0f8876bc2b, 278450892 bytes)
