Xperia U or Xperia Ray

hello guys
sorry for posting this but i am rly confused and i hit this place coz it perfect place in android world and i rly want help
since my last phone ruined RIP moto K1 ,, i rly wanna try android and i cant find better than sony ( best camera and best design )
and when i try to pick a one i stopped at X-ray and x- U coz both has same price in my country and thats the limit i can reach
so now i am confused coz both are awesome both have cons ! .
so wat do u think guess ,, PS i dont care about 4G storage in U coz i guess its fine for me .
is any one try both and if any one which one u recommend ??
sorry for my english

If it just by the looks, I would pick Xperia Ray.
Other than that, Xperia U has a bigger screen, better hardware, better battery life (according to official, usually inflated, figures), and it is also a newer release, meaning that it has better posibilities of getting JB or further updates. The downside is its limited storage, but since you don't care, it's fine.
Camera is basic on both phones. Ray features a 8.1mp camera, meanwhile the U features a 5.0mp camera. But those numbers alone don't mean much.
Although I own Xperia ray, I recommend you to buy Xperia U if you fine with 4GB storage. Dual core phone has become trend nowaday. I also will move to Xperia 2012 phone.

If you r ok with 4 gb storage then go for Xperia U..i see the Xperia U better on all sides except for memory and camera....i was not cool with 4gb storage so I went with Xperia P.. And I think the camera on Xperia Ray is better than Xperia U...
But hey it's all up to the users needs..if you think you need performance then go for XU... If you think you need big storage and better camera go for Ray...
Decision is yours to make...

Xperia U has 4gb for user data and 2gb for apps, so 6gb total usable space. If you can wait for ics or get a bl unlockable xperia u then its a great little device. Minimal lag with most tasks, very clear, vivid and sharp screen and good with multitasking. I just wish I could unlock bl and customise.

if you like custom roms you might go better with Ray, but the U has more power and might even get official JB from Sony. I'm also pretty sure that the FXP team will soon release CM for U.
To sum things up: I would go for U. I can also recommend the Xperia P, I own one by myself. The display and sound is awesome.

Better XU! Xray screen is too narrow (3,2 inch). Very not comfortable.
XU has dualcore processor!
XU has crisper screen than ray
XU has better GPU than ray
XU has larger screen than ray
XU's design is more cool than ray
etc..
But Xperia ray has better camera (8 MP with Exmor R sensor) than XU! and xperia ray has slim body than XU.

[Q] hello, im new here and im just curious about JB on xperia.

ive seen post that xperia U can copy the JB of xperia P if it became available, does that mean that xperia U can get xperia P's white magic(or something like that dont know the exact name)? or can it run on xperia U without having a problem on xperia U's illuminating bar? thank you very much in advance.

Ha, sry, it's for XP U, my mistake...
It can't get whitemagic because it's basically a hardware feature - XP has an LCD RGBW screen (additional white subpixel).

yes whaitemagic is sony's "IPS" screen, its nearly the same thing just the name is whitemagic for marketing
hmm im just thinking that if sony doesnt really provide JB to xperia U, is it possible to make the JB of go and P to xperia U and make it looks like it is an official JB for xperia U? i really like the UI of sony, it is unique for me compared to other android device.

Nope its not
There are alot of devices wid 512mb ram being updated to or will be updated to jelly bean
I agree JB can be ported to device with 512 Ram. But the available Ram for user would be less and android keep killing the process when memory goes below the kill bit level. I am facing this issue in Ics every time i browse using stock browser or Ucs.

Which kernel do you prefer?

Hi everybody!
I'm using ICS 4.0.4 ( Xperia Ultimate HD 2.0.2 ROM ) on my neo v.
I'm playing games like BackStab, Fifa12, Hot Pursuit, Dead Trigger and more. I know, for games is GingerBread but I love ICS
Whoch kernel do you prefer for hard games on ICS?
I have Alliance 1.5 now. I want to have long battery life and best options for games
Sorry for my English ;D
Thanks!
Odp: Which kernel do you prefer?
Oh ok, thanks
Try Sauve v6

why don't you try JB for gaming?
Isn't it good?
pardon me, i am new about these so might not be right.
Using Neo V @ 1.6 GHz with Fusion 4.3 JB Kernel Super Jelly Bean 2.0
Gaming seems nice. Still now played most wanted, ran smooth with little lag at the start up but nothing after the main menu, just like playing it in Note. Battery is awesome. Mine is lasting like 18-20 hours with moderate usage. (Its been 1.2 years)
JB ROMS are only for the looks and features but if u want to play HD Games then u better Switch to GB ROMS......the best kernel for GB Rom is Night Elf 10 Experimental Lite.......Governor: ondemand I/O Scheduler:sio.....
You will get best battery life and awesome Gaming Experience

I would suggest lupus kernel either for ics or jb,

Buy another phone mate
Sola doesn't have jb and has 512mb ram. I suggest you sony xperia p if you don't want to spend more money 1gb ram and official jb.
Anyway back on topic:
1)GB: Good battery life, stable, no lags, dialer not lags.
2)ICS: battery life not so good, lags like hell dialer. Sometimes is really annoying have to wait 3-5 secs to make dialer open. Although, there are really good mods for ics on apps section that will not work on gb.
