[Q] What is this symbol in status bar (Hustonn's JB ROM) - AT&T LG Optimus G

Does any one know what this symbol (two rectangles with opposing arrows, one in each) next to the signal level mean? I've tried searching (probably didn't know what to call it?) and also looked in the manual and came up empty. I flashed Houstonn's JB ROM and it came up on first boot. It went away for a while, but then it came back. Thanks in advance.

That was it. Thanks. In ICS the NFC icon was an "N" looking thing. In fact, it is still that icon in the notification pull down. I guess the status bar changed icons in JB.(or a leas in this ROM). I usually turn NFC off, but I guess I was hitting it by accident.

[Q] Optimus V 3g icon ?

I have read on this forum people talking about their 3g icon going green. I have had my vm optimus v for 5 days now and even when I am lucky enough to have 5 or 6 bars (seldom) I have never seen my 3g icon go green. The only thing I see is white and blinking arrows. Am I missing something...like a really good 3g signal.
Green means you're connected to google services

green usually means you are connected to Google's servers white means you are not. You may have a sync issue but other than that you are not missing anything as long as you still get your gmail and notifications.
Also you may not have a mod on your phone that differentiates between connected to Google or not. (may always be white.)
the people talking about their icons turning green are running gingerbread, you are probably running froyo. The icons show the status of the google talk service,if it can communicate with the google servers,it will be green, when the connection is dropped, the icons will be white. This was added in android 2.3,so if you are running the stock rom or anything else that is 2.2.x,then they will stay white (or whatever color your theme is)
<edit> I love how all 3 of us replied while I was typing</edit>
Thanks
Thanks to all for the info. My first android phone...I did sdcard cm7 my nook color though ... so I learned some things along the way. Maybe it doesn't turn green because I don't auto sync. I am running stock, only had the phone a couple of days.
Gingerbread only?
If you're using the stock ROM (2.2) the 3g icon and signal bars never turn green. correct me if i'm wrong but I think that is a Gingerbread only feature.

Why does the icons and tray on the TFP jump up and down.

Unexplained. Looking at the icons on my TFP desktop in ICS, everything is slightly moving a bit. Is this happening on anybody else's prime?
Yes. The bottom two recent status items will sometimes switch places with each other repeatedly. Not sure why.
Edit: After re-reading your post, I think maybe we are talking about two different things. In my case, it's when I tap on the status bar to see recent updates.
No it is definitely not normal. Are you running stock? Does it do it after a reboot?
Like the whole screen is throbbing ever so slightly right? Yea I noticed it the other day in a random app or two. But it went away after the next reboot.

I noticed this happens when downloading something. Anything. From Google Play apps/updates to files from the internet. Anything with a progress bar causes the notification bar to wig out like that, repeatedly switching the current download and another item back and forth.

Yeah. I get the same thing. Never really knew why it was happening, I though it was random. Now that you mention it this could definitely be happening at the stated times. Will check and post results.
I have experienced this problem at least twice. i turned it off and back on again; that worked but it is definitely strange. it's as if it's bobbing it's head to some silent music.
Mine does that too! I haven't noticed it for a while now but it did that for quite some time. I will check if it still does it.
It was a bouncing of approx. One pixel line up and down every two seconds.
I had the problem since I got it in January. It only happens when I was playing videos or right after I closed youtube. Turning off the screen solves it though. if it goes away then I wouldn't worry too much

That seems to be just a "feature" of sense 4.0 I dont think you can really get rid of it. Looks like they just thought theyd include an annoying notification for people to shortcut to if they want to turn off data
Thanks man I figured that was it but I thought maybe I missed something .....again thanks for the reply.....
I think I fixed it I wiped the devlik cache in the rezrom tweeks and rebooted and its gone.....I haven't rebooted again or turned WiFi on but hey for now it's gone

how to get % batt. on VZ S III

Hi All,
I searched but didn't see this here.
How do we get % for battery on the Verizon S III? By this I mean like 100%, 95%, etc up on the green battery. I remember seeing it on the Sprint S III I went to look at and I thought I saw something in Settings about it.
Did VZ remove it or did I just not see it? I believe I looked through all settings.
Also can we get shortcuts on the lock screen (like Camera and phone) if we use a Pattern lock?
I am not rooted or anything. Is it possible to get both above without rooting or modifying?
Thanks all!!

Battery indicator

Hey, since the new update, the battery indicator in the nitificationbar is not updating / refreshing anymore, id does just always show a full battery, even when there is only like 40% left.
If i restart the phone it will set to the batterylife that is left, for example if i reset at 3/4 of the bettery it will show that but not refresh anymore till i reset again.
Factory reset and so on does not help, seems like a big software issue with the phone here.
if i go to options battery, it will show the right %tage in the options menue.
Also, they said in the patchnotes, that they now implemented a % of the battery in the notificationbar, but there is literally no option to enable that, any idead on where to search for that?
Or nay app recomendations that could help me out here?

It's working on mine. It is always set to % , no option to turn off.
I updated by using full time flashed with sp flash. Did you do it with OTA?

Yes, it made an update in the middle of the night when it got releasen, funny thing is, i turned auto updates off and nearly got late for work, because my phone is also my alarm clock and since it made it´s update on it´s own it reset and needet my passcode to restart.
Nevermind, i usually make a factory reset after an update and most problems are gone by now, for example the multitask bug, it is still there but not all the time and usually only when apps havent been open for a few minutes or from what i´ve seen, it just loasd alot of apps into the RAM and as soon as the 3,9gb are full it just closes all of them, instead of just making enough space and killing the first few that you have had open. I hope they fix that in the next update, but still it is way better than before.
BUt back to the topic. Since the Update, the battery indicator on the right top has a different style but as i mentioned just stays white and shows a full battery all the time, with no option to change it to % like the update log was mentioning.
Before the update it also had no % in the bar but when you moved the bar down there at leas was a % shown, now just a full battery symbol all the time.
But i tried a few different apps now an one just put in % in the battery icon now and also updates : itßs called Battery Percent Enabler, i tried 5 different ones, they did not work, but this just works fine, it is accurate with the battery indicator in the menu.
But i´ll guess i will try and root may phone sooner or later and then i will just flash the newest rom on it anyways.
Just wanted to know if i´m the problem and i just couldent find the menu to activate it, if it was a generell software problem or if it is just a bug since the update.
An other question, do you also have the frontfacing camera but since the update?
People in the umidigi forum and on reddit post about it en mass, i first thought it was a crack in the camera lens but since the update i have it too and people are having it too since the update.
https://ibb.co/RgXSpNJ
Its just one of the pictures of another f1 user since the update, mine has this weird line right in the middle of the camera, but i cant find a crack in the glass or the lense and since it only happened to people since the update do you think they messed something up in the cam software?
I also found a few that state the frontcam is not working at all since the update.
battery indicator
Literally the same issue battery indicator only shows the battery life when first booted, rebooted, or charging. Otherwise the battery does not move. had to install widget off of playstore. Also no percentage on/off even though when you type it in the settings search bar it shows it but redirects you to battery and we'll you guessesd it not there... hope patch comes out soon....

Hi, as i already troubleshooted and also kinda fixed it, just get the app i wrote in the first comment and everything should be good.
the only other thing that would help now is to re install the lastest update, since you messed something up while doing so.
or you can just install the app that i told you about.
Many of these little bugs or tweaks would be easily solved if we had an official and working GravityBox for Pie. Shame.
