Hi guys,
I've seen videos on youtube about the Wind Turbine livewallpaper that comes preinstalled into the galaxy series and I think it's realy cool. I have downloaded couple of apks from various websites but they are either outdated or don't work on my Nexus 4... Can someone be kind and extract the apk from their phone and upload it somewhere so I can download it?
Thanks.
Here you go

Although I think it might need other apps ie. Possibly accuweather as it displays live current weather I do believe

It cannot install on my Nexus 4 unfortunately even after installing accuweather but thanks anyway. I hope someone will create something similar or at least make Samsung's one work on other devices as well...
EDIT: If there is a file called secretwallpaper then can you please upload it as well because I think that it's a part of the wallpaper and might work if I install it too?
This is the actual apk from the S3 no idea if it will work on your Nexus, don't rename it leave it as it is called, it will show as Windy Weather in your live wallpapers if it works
Download the WindyWeather.zip, extract the apk from inside the zip and install

Side load it and set permissions, if that doesn't work then I guess it needs porting

I tried side loading but it didn't work and don't really understand what you mean by permissions. I am not rooted if that matters...

Yup it does, you will need root to move it to system/apps and set permissions

Is anyone successful in extracting this Galaxy Tab wallpaper?
http://www.55tablets.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/samsung-galaxy-tab.jpg
That's not an official Honeycomb wallpaper, at least not that I know of.
You can grab them all here. The one I use is Glowy Hex, looks awesome on my Tab:

The beauty is that you don't need to rebuild the launcher2.apk to insert those images... if you sync your tablet with a Google account, all you have to do is upload your preferred wallpaper to Gallery and use it as background.
If you ever flash your tablet or do a permanent erase, once you restore your Google account, it will also restore your background even if the image is not present anymore in your tablet sdcard. I was surprised to see that, when I did a complete wipe. It took a while, but eventually the background popped... I don't remember if it showed after I restarted the tablet... I know that after the initial app re-sync it was not there but it showed like magic 15-20min later on my tablet.

Hi friends this is my first post for tab i am a power user in sensation but came across a very interesting article here so tried the same thing on tab..and boom it works well.
hope u'll like it....if u do jst click thnx ooh and do bk up first...Thnx to pimpmaneaton for his hardwork to put this together..
Steps
1. Download the fontchanger (free) from market.
2. Run app first time and this will install a .fontchanger file onto the root of your storage.
3. Unzip this file and move it to the tab.
4. Now open root explorer you will see the .fontchanger folder inside it is backup folder, delete it and move the backup (unzipped file) in that same place.
5. Reboot tab.
6. open fontchanger and play with two strings
(a) DROIDSans-Bold.ttf (to change headers).
(b) Droidsans.ttf (to change all other fonts).
7. Caution u may need to boot device again if u get stuck on boot animation.

I very fond of what I do.
But if you really want me to try this as a test, I will.
I don't have any issues with the stock font anyway.
The ubuntu font its terrific, I use it on my phone. Haven't had a problem with default font but I will try it. I'll post screenshots in a minute

I'll upload them somewhere else if anyone is interested. Just ask

That's the e911 icon, and all I saw in the threads was to delete the images associated with it.. Although that will just lead to an unusable blank space on the taskbar..

well that sucks, its a rather annoying icon, thanks for the help
Yea, I was spoiled for 1.5 years with custom ROMs which had it removed.. Still looking for a legit solution which removes it completely..

We have to wait for a custom Rom to remove it.
Just curious what things are you waiting to get settled down to Root? I think the method we have now works pretty well, at least for me

Being as I have a Verizon Galaxy S 3 I want to wait for the Kexec Kernel method to be functioning and out the door with a bit of feedback prior to rooting my device. As far as features that i used to "hack" into my phones the only one that the GS3 does not have out of the box is the ability to block ads. Everything else it already has (moving from a D3 with CM9 on it)
Odined a rooted stock recovery and installed TWRP recovery.. Better than having nothing or waiting for something to happen with the bootloader..

when you do that does it do a wipe of the phone?

as stated in the original post I am not rooted
I've whipped up a Google Play edition boot animation, with full rotation.
If you look at the original boot animation from google, you will realize its does not have a full rotation of the "flower". Focus on the yellow dot:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
It only goes around halfway before starting over. If you're neurotic like me, this makes your skin crawl
This animation has been edited to have a full rotation:
The dots go all the way around now! :victory:
To install:
For Google Edition/AOSP ROMs, flash this:
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7r1gfrm1vXoTmRvNzdYSFVSYXc
For TouchWiz based roms, flash this.
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B7r1gfrm1vXoVEpqcGktTU9LVlE
Credits goes to dankoman for bringing us the bootanimation zip so that I could recompile it into qmg's, and to sgosiaco for bringing the original HTC One M8 / Galaxy S5 version down to our phone's resolution and posting it over on reddit, and a BIG thanks to Tylorw1 for helping me create a version for TouchWiz ROMs.
Oh, and as always, if you want to use this in your ROM or whatever just drop me a PM and credit me for it
Happy flashing!

Not a problem. Did you flash it, or push the qmg's into your system manually?
hmm. I flashed it on Stock rooted NC!1. It works, but the animation is really slow. Any ideas?

It is. By default TouchWiz ROMs run boot animations at nearly 1/3 of the speed as the Google Edition ROM I run. I am currently working on getting to work fully.

Scroll your mouse over the the top of the white box and a little control bar will come down. There will be a little download icon on it. Click that and it will download. :good:
It will only work if you are signed into your Google account though.
All I get is a black screen on TW KitKat 4.4.4
