Capacitive Soft Touch Button Shortcut

Hey everyone,
Does anyone know if its possible to change the the app shortcut that the soft touch search button launches? I would like it to to launch S-Voice or the google now mod that will be in the new Adrenaline ROM instead of the google search app.

Did you try long pressing it to set the default app to use for search. I have Vlingo Labs Beta installed and I long pressed the search button and was able to select it for the default action. It should see S-Voice if you have it installed.
And Ashton quit being a tool.
Yup, the Android system prompt should come up when a new app is installed that can utilize that button. Several custom ROMs have tweak settings that can configure the softkeys, though they usually map them to particular system menus and functions rather than apps.
I've been using the HomeSmack app lately to switch both the Search button function and my launcher on the fly. I suggest checking that out:

[Q] Set button and task manager paranoidandroid

Hello everyone, yesterday I installed on my s2 the paranoidandroid rom ... ROM wonderful that surely will keep for a long time. but I have a problem, in this rom is not the task manager and the home button and completely disabled. How I set it up? Task manager is a Samsung app and won't work on non stock roms. In settings there should be a hard ware keys option somewhere and you can choose actions for home button, menu and back (might only be aokp though)
Or You can use Some third party Task Managers from Play Store

Different option for Pie Control?

Ever since I've seen it in action on other ROM, I love Pie Control. The problem is that, even thought there are a few apps available to emulate the real Pie Control from Paranoid Android, none of them have an option to access it with a long press on the Home button. I tried Pie Control (from coolace on the Play Store) and LMT Launcher (from XDA) and there's no option for what I want. They can only be accessed by pressing on a customizable edge of the screen and it's clunky. Is there any other app which could give me what I want?

Android - how to simulate long press of home button

Hi, I'm trying to simulate a long press of the home button in order to launch 'Google now on tap' as my phone (elephone p9000, stock 6.0, rooted) has got rid of the navigation bar in favour of a single capacitive button, which uses the long press function to launch recent apps instead of Google now on tap and I can't find any other way to launch this service. You can bring the navigation bar back but this interferes with other functionality I have set up now. Can anyone please tell me either an app that can run a script to simulate the home key long press or alternatively another way to create a shortcut to launch Google now on tap as right now I'm having to go into settings reactivate the navigation bar, long press home and then deactivate it after. Not exactly streamlined! Thanks for any advice.
Would be great to be able to assign Google now on tap to the fast access Button on the left. I miss it myself and dont want to use one Screen Navigation.

There's actually 2 very straightforward ways of doing this, one of which is I thought I'd tried but obviously not very well. You can launch the Now on Tap feature by assigning it to a gesture in either LMT pie control or another 3rd party app called All In 1 Gestures. If this isn't clear just ask.
Anybody figured this? What would the shortcut show up as using a third party app. I can see Google but how would you access Google now on tap? Doesn't show up as a shortcut.

is there way to get either a menu button press or app switcher long press on mi box 3

i am trying to run an app on my mi box 3 that updated my DNS (update no-ip)
but i can not use it because it requires either a menu button press or long press on app switcher button to get nto settings to enter credentials
is there any way i can recreate either of these on the mi box 3?
i have already tried pairing a fire tv stick remote but the menu button on it still does nothing
also tried an xbox one s controller and still no menu button
