Task manager is a Samsung app and won't work on non stock roms. In settings there should be a hard ware keys option somewhere and you can choose actions for home button, menu and back (might only be aokp though)

Or You can use Some third party Task Managers from Play Store

[Q] Home Button > Recent Apps Window

Hi
I have used the search engine and tried google but I can't seem to find my answer. I am either terrible with search engines or I'm wording my problem poorly.
Basically, before I upgraded my S2 the home key would take me to the Task Manager. After upgrading my phone, it takes me to this "recent apps" interface, which I really don't like :\ it looks ugly and I have to clear each app I've used one by one.
Is there a way to disable this feature and have it so my phone goes straight to task manager when I hold the home button?
thanks, appreciate it.
I am using apex launcher. And under apex settings> behavior> home key action, you have the option to choose what the home button does.

There is a task manager button at the bottom of the recent apps list that will open the taks manager....
the recent apps list is not whats running, just what Recently been accessed by you, hence Recent Apps list.... sliding them does not close the app!

Yes it does.

[Q] Cyanogen software buttons

Is it possible to enable the software (on-screen) back/home/application list buttons with Cyanogen mod? I see them in screenshots but cant find anywhere in Settings
You can install PARANOIDANDROID v1.3a ROM. It is built on CM9. When you install the ROM navigate to Settings > Interface / System > Navigation Bar > Softkeys and you can toggle the on screen buttons.
Here is the link to the ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1715541
Thanks, I'll give it a try. Do you have an option to completely disable the capacitive menu and back buttons?
I second that... coming from a galaxy nexus i have to say that on screen keys are the way forward.

[Q] What I noticed with almost every JB custom ROMs

1. S Voice
Using wipe flashed rom, go into S Voice setting and untick 'open with home button' feature. Then remove S Voice app with Titanium Backup. From then on whenever screen turn off while in an app or even drawer, single home button press to bring screen back on forces home screen instead of whatever app I was in.
I dont want to keep S Voice app. Removing S Voice app without unticking the home button feature only work as long as I dont reboot my s3.
Any solution to this?
2. Side volume buttons + mute
Almost every JB ROM including Poland Official is not allowing me to change from volume control down mute, only down to vibrate.
Any solution to this?
Thank you for reading

both are problems with the stock samsung rom - I believe Jkays mod fixes these two issues (found in original development - for use with deodexed/custom roms).

Physical Button on Tasker

Hello,
in Tasker (Apps) it's possible run any action for press button - Camera, Long Search.
But Galaxy S3 don't have this button Camera and Long Search ?
It's posible to run action from tasker with physical button on Galaxy S 3 ?
Nay. Didn't have the option and I think I saw a post saying there isn't a way on the Google groups for tasker.

You have right, but i saw on xda thema or ROM, that someone running camera on Power Button. And maybe exist any solution, fix or ROM where can add camera to physical button ?
for shutter? JKay, for example, or modded camera apps

Can we change capacitive buttons Nexus style?

I'm not looking for soft keys, I want to change the buttons on the bottom of the phone to do different things. Like this (nexus layout):
Left Menu Button ---> Back Button
Middle Home Button <---> Home Button
Right Back Button ---> Recent Apps (multitasking)
Is this possible?
Many custom Roms support this

This is the best answer ever.
xD
Those are terrible answers....
Anyway, if I manage to do what I want with the buttons then there's no more "menu button".
Will apps automatically have the "3 dot" menu or will there be no menu at all?
In light of the fact that the links I provided you with (even if it is in a humorous manner) are of no interest to you, I don't really see I can do anything else for you
It is easy, just edit some files

That's could be a problem.
1. Change to AOSP
