[Q] Can no longer access cwm P769BK (10g Firmware) - LG Optimus L9 P760, P765, P768, P769

I had CWM working on my P769BK using the method in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2095825. I was on 10E and I used CWM to install a rooted 10G recovery. Everything went great and I still have root, I can no longer boot into recovery though. I tried updating CWM, uninstalling and reinstalling, everything I can think of. At boot there are no flashing LEDs. I know I should post in the above thread, but I unfortunately don't have 10 posts here so I can't post in the dev section. I'm new to posting but I have been following stuff here for a while. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I bumped this because people are having the same issue when going to 20D below is the solution I found.
Update: I can boot into CWM recovery again. I used this to install busybox https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bitcubate.root.busybox.complete . Before I had just regular "busybox" from play store. After using this tool install busybox, I once again ran Artas' recovery installer and it rebooted right into CWM. Thanks for the help suggestions everyone.

I don't wanna do this and lose root. CWM is the only thing not working for me.

So root is working on your 10G?

I think OTA root keeper would keep root after the update. However the ota update kept failing (I think because I was missing some apks in /system/app) so I went that route.

What does matters is sequence of proper actions. That is possible only if you are here since first day and know all the situation. More people are updating first and then coming on xda for solutions.
Seems others did it better (or just lucky) and are on rooted V10G

Update: After completely uninstalling busybox free and installing a different busybox installer, I now get the flashing LED's at startup. If I press volume down to go into recovery it just hangs at LG logo. So its still not working for me but I feel like some progress was made.

Just give it a try several times. might work.

can't update and i get the error "0x13e" the phone restarts to home-screen and shows the message saying "can't update, root detected"
in voodoo rootkeeper there's an option for temporary un-root, i used that option and tried to update again but i get the same 0x13e error and the phone restarts to the message "update failed"
i tried using LG pc suite but it took more than 30 minutes to download only 20%. that's awful because my internet is fast enough.
i can't wait that long and i need to sleep right now
i'll try again tomorrow with the pc suite (someone mentioned it works this way)
I know I can just flash cmahendra's KDZ file but that makes me lose root that's why I wanna do it the official way.
good luck everybody

I got my phone in november with 10a, rooted it and installed voodoo rootkeeper, I updated to the ota 10e without losing root or anything! It was awesome.
For some reasons I needed to factory reset so I flashed the original 10a which I still have right now and rooted. Now I can't get the ota 10g and LG says because I'm rooted. Although it was possible in November.
I'll keep trying I think

[ROOT METHOD][KERNEL][ODIN][TAR]SCH-I545 MD2 Kernel (For Rooting)

DISCLAIMER:
Your device, your responsibility. I am not liable for anything you flash, including this.
As a result you'll probably want to read the rest of the thread and at least be aware of what you're flashing.
You've been warned.
Credits:
Thanks to the following for making this possible:
Anonymous sources for MD2 kernel
DJRBliss for Motochopper root exploit
Chainfire for SuperSU
jcase for setting the record straight on kernel root block (learn something new every day!)
And you, the community! Otherwise we wouldn't be here! Thank you!
Background:
The MDK kernel contains features that disable the su binary by default.
There are ways to bypass this once rooted but attempts to use Motochopper failed.
So we needed another way to get root.
...Enter the MD2 Kernel. At the moment one of the easiest doors into allowing Motochopper.
Download Links for MD2 Kernel TAR: http://www.sxtpdevelopers.com/showthread.php?t=256
There are two mirrors posted on that thread.
Steps are pretty simple:
1) Enter Odin Mode - Hold Vol Down + Power from power off. (ADB reboot download also works with USB debugging on)
2) Flash MD2 kernel
3) Go to the Motochopper thread and follow the steps in OP.
Congratulations! You are now rooted.
Follow-Up/Notes:
1) You will want to go back to MDK kernel after rooted to avoid kernel/ROM mismatch and potential issues due to it. A few weeks ago this may have been an issue due to the root block but jcase has informed me that is corrected as of the latest SuperSU. So please update to latest SuperSU and flash back the MDK kernel. You can find a link to that here.
2) Warnings will now come up once rooted. You can suppress these by freezing SEAndroid.apk
Questions/Concerns/Etc.
Please post here if there are any questions, concerns, comments, etc. We're still human and can certainly make mistakes - I'll be happy to correct them if any are brought to light.

If you need to reflash stock via Odin before you take it in. That's the only way I know at the moment to get around it.
NM I had to unroot and reflash the kernel. Afterwards just flash the kernel to root them update the binaries (missed that step) and flashed the normal kernel. Problem solved.

Don't update. You'll lose your ability to have a real custom recovery. Just stay on MDK and root. Then you can go ahead and flash a 4.3 ROM.

Guys...it takes like a minute to reroot using iorootv11. Just do it after the OTA update. There is no point of trying to use apps to try to preserve root when it is so simple.
Any chance we'll see a TWRP flashable version of stock ZV8? I'd use the LG tool to start over, update to ZV8, root, etc., but then I'd have to apply all the xposed mods, set things how they were etc. I tried flashing stock recovery, then doing the update the normal way, but it led to a bootloop and didn't work.
Edit - Or can someone tell me how they flashed stock recovery, where I can get the recovery, and whether or not it worked? I got my stock recovery zip from a Sprint user in the the TWRP thread, but could only flash it via flashify. Flashing the zip via TWRP would not work.
