Guys, I've never had this happen before. I was on the Jedi ROM which is based on the International base. I was running the L4 radios with it.
Everything was great and I was asked to test a new ROM that is going to come out soon. Based off the Verizon base.
I flashed it and now I got continuous boot loops. It kept going from the Note 2 screen, to the TWRP screen and back and forth. No matter what I did, it wouldn't boot.
I even powered down and held the up volume key with home and power to boot into recovery. It wouldn't let me, just kept boot looping.
So I Odin'd a stock image that I had on my laptop and now I'm getting a boot loop of the Note 2 screen. I also can't boot into recovery.
What do I need to do? Am I screwed?
Thanks!
Pull the battery let it sit then keep trying recovery. You should be able to get into it. When you do factory reset. If not I bet you used root66 in Odin. You need a full wipe Odin image.

^this!
use a full wipe odin image with the pit file.
Thanks for the responses guys. Where can I get a full wipe odin image from? I've tried many odin images from around here and none of them are working.
Thanks!
try imnuts stock restore thread...thats what i have linked in section 1b of my guide. if your on the L4 ota then you will need to use the alternate restore link that does not contain a bootloader. also you probably could use root66 with the pit file and it should work.

I tried both of those and neither are working. I just keep getting the Note 2 screen boot looping over and over. I also can't get into recovery at all.
I'm at a loss here. :crying:
So just to clarify you've used Droidstyle's guide using the factory jb image that locks your boot loader again and wipes everything with the pit file?
If you have and is still not working I'm out of ideas. That's kind of the atomic bomb of fixing a brick.

Good evening,
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
I rooted and unlocked my phone and then tried installing a wrong CM10. Then I installed the stock ROM again so that it would at least work. That succeeded.
However, a popup came offering a OTA update and I hit yes without thinking. It rebooted and stayed at boot loop.
Now when I try using ODIN to reflash the stock ROM it does so, reboots, and stays at the boot screen where the LTE and moving stuff shows up after the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 in white text screen. Please, I need this fixed urgently as that's my work phone.
I've tried flashing the rooted stock rom and that doesn't work either. When I try to re-root/unlock it says "Firmware problem please connect to Klies" or something along those lines. I can't boot into recovery mode either. The android shows up and a bar and then it reboots when it's close to finishing the boot into recovery.

I'm confused, where is your phone now. Boot loop, the firmware upgrade problem or other?

Really basic question here, how long have you let it sit on the boot animation screen? Sometimes it takes a very long time for first boot, especially if davlik was wiped.

I just read a post about someone in the same situation that said after about 30 attempts!! with Odin it did finally work.
Also, I have no affiliation with these guys but they seem to know what they are doing and doing it for a reasonable price: http://mobiletechvideos.mybigcommerce.com/samsung-galaxy-note-2-jtag-brick-repair/
Good luck.

I've let it sit for like an hour in a boot loop.

Boot loop if I try to go to stock ROM. Firmware warning if I try to use boot unlocker/root ROM.
I can't get into recovery under either. When I try to get into recovery under the boot unlock/root ROM I get the firmware problem.

Your phone had to boot up to unlock so again are you boot looping now? I'm thinking you need to use the alternate restore file. It sounds like your boot loader is still locked. If that's the case that's the only image that will actually flash in Odin.

here is your problem:
1) NEVER ACCEPT OTA'S
2) You didnt research before flashing
3) Since you accepted the ota, the bootloader from the original vraljb odin file is black listed. meaning you cant ever use that file again.
4) To fix your problem follow section 1b of my guide, make sure to use the alternate restore link as it does not contain a bootloader in the file. it will revert you back to vraljb firmwqre while maintaining the L4 bootloader.

So I just downloaded Illusion ROM a little bit ago and went into CWM and wiped and flashed. I have been flashing multiple ROMs for weeks with no trouble and I've been flashing since the HTC Incredible about 3 years ago, so I kind of have an idea on how to flash properly. So after I install the gapps and reboot I get the yellow triangle and it tells me go to the verizon store because it can't verify software. So when I try to boot into recovery it will not load, so I can't even flash my back up. I did not install any OTA updates or hook my phone up to the PC. When the Samsung splash screen comes up it still has the unlocked icon. So any help would be appreciated on how to fix this because I am going to be steaming if I wasted $300 on this phone. I knew I should of waited until the Nexus 5.....
Flash the stock image in Odin. For future reference, this happened becauseyou flashed something without a loki patched boot.img.

Can you please post the link for the stock factory image. I can find every carrier except verizon. I tried the no wipe one or whatever and it said the file was incomplete when I tried to extract it. Still said it after multiple downloads

I downloaded and deleted it 3 different times and tried two different mirrors and 2 different zip extractors and it still says there are files missing and when I load what I did extract Odin says its corrupt or something
If you rooted your phone you should have a MDK kernel image laying around somewhere or be able to find it on your own. And as said above it happened because your boot img was not loki'd for you. This could be because you are running a recovery that doesn't loki for you, the boot.img in the ROM was not loki'd making it a boot.lok, or you tried installing something that was not for verizon and thus the boot.img was no good.
SO:
boot into download mode
-powered off state, hold volume down and power until it shows you the splash screen
Open Odin
uncheck f. reset
click pda
navigate to your MDK kernel file
Open it
connect device
wait until it says it found it
Then hit start
Profit

SOLVED Flashing stock with odin http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2289325
After a couple hours of searching I haven't had any luck fixing what i've mistakenly done to my phone.
I made a new account and am first posting because I am at witts end.
The status of my phone is-
it will not boot.
It hangs at the Samsung Custom screen.
I can only get into download mode.
When I try to boot into recovery the blue text top left says it's booting but it doesn't boot into recovery.
I suspect I corrupted my recovery somehow.
I've tried flashing different kernels with odin and the few that ive tried successfully flash but same thing still happens.
I think I need a CWM recovery or TWRP recovery that I can flash with odin? Is that a thing?
Any point in the right direction would greatly be appreciated.

You can try that I don't know if it'll work in download/odin.
I suggest just flashing the stock update via odin and re root..

Those files do not work with ODIN.
I dont have a stock update file to flash with odin nor have I been able to find any for download.
The mdk stock firmware file is located in the dev section, flashable via odin.

This is the MDK image that will take you back to bone stock, out-of-the-box. Just open ODIN, put the phone in download mode, put this file in PDA only section, and you're golden.

It's nice to have my phone back , I was getting really worried there for a bit..
I had TWRP and CleanRom Running just fine but after a few mods and a reboot it hung on me.
I wonder if anyone is aware of these issues or if I'm just 'special' Hmmm
I really wanted to have a LIGHT TouchWiz rom that I can add mods to myself.
Any suggestions?
Hello,
I am hoping someone can direct me as to how I can unbrick my device.
I have been using JellyBomb for about a month now and decided to upgrade to the newest version. I downloaded 3.0 and put it on my external SD card via usb. I backed up what I needed to onto google drive and dropbox and did a factory reset. Upon installing the ROM, however, I received an error message saying that the ROM had failed.
I tried another old file after another factory reset (old jellybomb version) and this got stuck in the middle of flashing it. This is when the trouble started as when I rebooted my device I could not access Recovery.
I have since reflashed my recovery to Clockwork and now I can get into that menu. I have tried to download the stock ROM from sammobile and after that 10 hour download (and I am not sure if I'm doing this correctly) it does not flash the entire 1.3 gig file. It looks like it only does something to the recovery. I am putting the .TAR file into the "PDA" section of ODIN... is this not correct? I can not find a TAR.mp5 file like the tutorials say so maybe I have the wrong file type?
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!! Thank you for your time.
Drew
To clarify: The only screens that I can get to are recovery and download mode. If I go into recovery and try to flash something it does not work but gets stuck in a freeze. In download mode my computer is seeing it when I am in ODIN but I am not sure that I have the right stock ROM file.
Does anyone have experience with this?

I'm on my 3rd Note 3 because of all kinds of issues with rooting....I've used CF auto, and Kingo. Had exact same issue of not being able to restore android, and soft bricking. Once was able to push MI4 from sammobile using ODIN 1.85, .tar in PDA. If it took you 10 hours to download, you probably have a bad download. I have not rooted this device because of all the problems almost everyone is having sooner or later, and STILL have to reboot, battery pull, wipe cache from stock recovery etc. Knox/selinux kernel Samsung has started using seems to be the culprit(s). Just look at all the posts for problems, lack of new development, and the fact that a Note 2 costs more with a contract than the 3....If you can successfully flash stock,I would stick with it for now. Good luck!:good:

NICE. Going to give this a try. Thanks!
Ok this phone was purchased bootloader unlocked with 4.1.2 and I loaded JellyBeans ROM. It worked great. Recently I upgraded to 4.3 Alliance ROM which I think is the sucessor to Beans. Anyhow, nothing special was going on, using the Alliance Kernel.
I had been running like this for a few weeks, and switched wifi on. The phone rebooted and never booted again. Now it just reboots over and over. If I get into TeamWin Recovery it shows the Teamwin loader screen background and then black screen and reboot.
So at this point I can't get into recovery. I did try ODIN download mode and that at least worked.
The point I am at is I never originally unlocked this phone and I think if I odin back to stock 4.1.2 it will be back to the locked bootloader.. and then I am supposed to run the root hack.
The part I get fuzzy on is the details. I don't know what 4.1.2's stock ODIN files are called and also the proper Root exploit. I am reading but do NOT want to screw this up.
Any advice is much appreciated!
[edit]OK , after reading I tried ODIN'ing root66_vzw_stock and while it completed sucessfully, the exact same thing happens, reboot after the Teamwin recovery loader screen and also booting normally. I did also repartition using the PIT file.
I guess this is bricked?
@redrol
Root66 does not restore to full factory stock...and it sounds like you're wanting to restore back to stock 4.1.2 VRAMC3. As long as you never took an OTA for anything above 4.1.2, you should able to do this. Droidstyle has written a great guide to help with this. You can find the guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34891181
Under section 1b, Droidstyle gives links to all the files and steps needed to restore the phone. If you're wanting to factory restore to VRAMC3, you would need to choose the download link for the "Official VRAMC3 4.1.2 5/5/13" stock restore image, along with the 16gb pit file to restore the phone to full stock.... and follow Droidstyle's steps to Odin flash those 2 files back to the device. (I'm guessing that you have used Odin before, so you probably know this... but it takes a while for Odin to do the restore... so I found that I had to be patient while waiting for Odin to give a green "pass" message before unplugging the phone. I think it took about 10 or 15 minutes for me when I did it). If everything goes right and you get a pass in Odin, then the software should be restored to how it was when it arrived to you before you rooted it. Make sure to hit the thanks button for Droidstyle for his hard work with the guide.
After you restore to stock... then you can use Adam Outler's Casual program to reroot and unlock the bootloader on VRAMC3. Adam's guide is here-- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2272066
The version of Casual that worked for me was R515.... just make sure you totally disable all virus scanning on your computer before running it.. including Windows Defender...
Good luck!!

Thank you so much. This was the information I was lacking, I will do the stock VRAMC3. I didn't know that Root66 isn't a full factory restore. And yes, never took an OTA update so the bootloader should still be unlocked.
my noob 2 cents
I had a similar issue the past week, I soft bricked my phone in an attempt to upgrade to 4.3 firmware. it didnt like my jellywiz rom i had installed. i had to get to bootloader and use odin to restore my phone. i used root66 and sch-i605-16gb.pit. this restored my phone to stock appearance but also rooted my phone (superuser installed).
OK thank you so much for that information. ODINing back to VRAMC3 did get it back to booting order. This is great. I did have to do a data wipe as well using the stock recovery.
Now how to get root back..? Time to read.:good:
