[Q] Boeffla-Sound engine for Galaxy player 4.2? - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

As far as I'm aware the Galaxy Player 4.2 has the same Wolfson chip as the Galaxy S3?
I came across this in the GS3 forum.
* Boeffla-Sound engine V1.4.9 to unleash the power of the Galaxy S3 audio chip
* Full configuration of Boeffla-Sound engine via Boeffla-Sound app from Google playstore possible
* Custom equalizer support via configuration file possible

Maybe there is some hope for a Voodoo-like implementation for Galaxy Player 4.2?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2095021 Supercurio tried something like this. There were limitations he ran into.

I wrote to the developer of Boeffla and that's what he wrote back:
if somebody wants to implement boeffla sound into a kernel for Galaxy Player, he can contact me and I am typically ok with it.
I personally cannot port the kernel for this device, as I have a rule of thumb to not create a kernel for a device I do not own myself.
Reason is, I cannot do testing and I do not want to give something untested out.
But if you know a kernel dev that wants to implement it, no problem. He should just contact me.
Cheers

All we need now is a willing developer. I think it's a pipe dream though. Not much development on Galaxy player 4.2

That would be absolutely gorgeous. Every mod should bear in mind that the 4.2 is mainly a music player. Thank you!!!

[Q] Is there Multiboot for S3?

Hi All,
Is there multiboot for the S3?
Did a quick search in the S3 forum for "multi boot" & "multiboot" but nothing of significance was returned.
I used to have this on my Defy, helped me out when I wanted to sample CM9 in its infancy.
Would now like to do the same with the Jelly Bean port that's come out for the S3. Would be nice to run side-by-side till it's fully functional.
Not yet, no.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Shame... I'll hold out for Jelly Bean then

It's clearly given in the app description that samsung phone's are not supported currently.
Thats only because samsung has never used the boot.img kernel format, they always used zImage. Now that google has forced Samsung to move over to the EXT4 format and use boot.img's it should be compatible. But dont quote me on that...

Actually the 5.0 can supposedly run 4.0 roms (some of them anyway). There are just some issues with things like auto-rotation and the camera. But, if you don't want a brick, it would be wise to avoid flashing stuff for the 4.0.

lol...im sry. Im a total noob and its the first ROM port i've ever done, and some others were asking if it was for the 5.0 also. So i thought I would give it to them. But yea you are right! What android user in his right mind would want an ios themed ROM? But then again it would be nice for an ios user that just switched to android!
Ok here's the build for the SGP 5.0 US (I havent tried any other versions). Its the original port and i havent had time to work on it much, so there are a few bugs. I wouldn't recommend using this for every day use until the bugs are worked out.
Known Issues:
No boot animation
Camera preview is jumbled up in video mode (might be camera apk) still pics are fine
CWM(don't boot into it unless you plan to flash a different ROM! Because you wont get out)
EDIT: I dont have time to test it right now, but i think CWM might be ok. After i went back to stock I still had the problem, so I would recommend flashing entropy's kernel if it gives you any trouble. The link is below.
Kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445840
If you find anymore let me know! I should have time to work on it somemore this next week.
Its not just an ios themed launcher! It has ios apps, and the music app especially looks identical to ios.
Link: Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 US
Ok here's the second build. I fixed the boot animation and CWM works fine now. The only other thing that I know of is, the camera preview for taking videos is still jumbled.
Installation:
Flash Entropy's Kernel first: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445840
Then flash iChaos: iChaos_vTB2_5.0.zip

Yeah I already tested it on ICS Crumble. I'll try and find a way to make it work on AOKP. Regarding the camera I have a rough idea in my head of what I could try to get it to work, so it is possible. I know gmillz is also trying to get the camera to work

My bad. I took "not working on" ICS Crumble/AOKP to be one in the same. So, I figured I'd try it on ICS Crumble since it's AOKP. Didn't mean to muck up the post.

GB's libs dont work at 100%, i have tried sereval times, Nexus S and Galaxy S have the same procesor like SGP5, but SGP5 has also similar chips to galaxy note/SGSII.
The first what we have to get is... full specyfication of SGP5, we can send a mail to samsung, or seartch somewhere, if we will get it, we will be able to work effective.

Really great work, I'll try it when you upload it and I'll give you my feedback.
Can you provide a small description of each option that can be changed? I mean in this thread, not on the app. For example I don't know what that deep sleep bar does in CPU tab, or from GPU tab I don't know anything, same with charge tab. From Kernel I don't know what Fsync is. Probably I'm not the only one.
And again, great work :good:
