[Q] OTA update settings - HTC Desire X

I downloaded recovery on this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...3&postcount=25 and tried the update but I get this There is no update available for your phone. My current ROM is 1.18.401.1 with CID HTC__044. I am not sure if my phone has got required things which "Software updates" check under /system before I can download the OTA.
Does some one know how to change/configure OTA server configuration for Software updates.

I think it depends on what country you're in. The update isn't universal AFAIK.

OTA settings?

Sorry but no one is giving me answer that how to check what OTA connects to and how the settings of OTA can be checked. From the old computing background, I assume there would be push or pull model implemented around OTA. How to see the configuration what OTA has on a device? Which APK it belongs to? Which files to look at using Aroma or any other root file manager. Is there a way or tool available to tweak that setting.

COTAClient.apk is the APK file you're looking for. I'd suggest you start there.

Why?
Is there anyone that can confirm a successful update to ICS and show us some screenshots?
Is there a way for us to get our ICS before they'll push it to our region? Can there be problems installing this zip on an other region? If that is possible.
I Tried to change my region to Mexico with all in one tool and i got a update notification for an older firmware version... but i don't want to risk to loose root forever... decrypting, costomize and resigning with All in One tool didn't work and i'm not able to flash the update with root...
As far as I know no one revived this update really. The only sign for ICS is the broken link in the upper right of the Sony select web app in some countries like Mexico.
Was this a fake post?
As soon as no one confirm a successful download or provide some screenshots & a functional link it seems it was an early bird.
The German blog mobiflip.de posted this as a news. Lol

No, I don't think so. When you look at selectApp-Website in Mexico there is the notification for ICS-Update. So it must come very very soon.
Condi posted a tutorial, how to do the update:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24563264&postcount=228
But how to download the OTA-Update and how to decrypt it after region change?
I think like the same way as before with the aio change region, use download zip in aio and decrypt + root.

Ok, so first I need to run "Run OTA ZIP autodownloader"?! And then? What options do I need to select?
First you have to modify your region to Mexico and than download ota.
I know But after I downloaded the rom through the script, how to decrypt the ROM? Does the Script also download the OTA when there is no Notification for an update? A lot of questions
No it doesn't. The download happens on the device. I you have installed rescue backdoor you have to modify your build prop again as condi says.

Disable Software Update

Hi All,
Does anybody know if it is possible to disable the the software update feature on the S3 GT-I9300? My phone has just downloaded the new update 26/07/12 and l have managed to find the option to delay the update but not stop the update. l have read that the local search has been removed accidently or on purpose and there is still a chance they will not add it back in on later updates, and l do not want to root my phone just yet to do the work around.

I am also looking to disable the update and I AM rooted.
How can this be done please?
EDIT: I 'froze' the Software Update app so hopefully that will do it.

Software Update is the one you need to freeze....I also froze I another one, but after checking it in TB it is called 'sysscope' pretty sure it was called OTAupdate or something similar!

Why does this RUU link say 1.19.502.1 and the HTC link say 4.12.2013? Are these different numbers for the same thing?

Yes, i get that it is the date but where is the other version number coming from? The HTC update release doesn't say anything about updating versions of anything.
Well if you expand the link you end up on another page.

You still can flash the new base stock Rom posted by @Turge.

So the update is 670MB and it only contains "bug fixes"? Seems strange to me that it's so large of an update for those things??
Bug fixes
AT&T Address Book Fixes
Bluetooth fixes
Wi-Fi fixes
Other minor bug fixes

Software Upgrade Assistant fails
SUA acts like it knows my phone is connected, even says searching for updates, but never lists my G2 in the window of devices. Drivers are current and using LG cable to a main USB port.
Does LG post changelogs or would this come from Verizon?
I would think VZW since they are the one changing LG's software.

Most idiot-proof way to upgrade atm is using the Verizon upgrade utility that is included with the phone. Just hook it up to your pc, follow the autorun prompt, and then proceed to download it and it should install the update automatically.
Dumb question probably... Do I need to do something first if coming from malladus rom like revert to stock?
Thanks

I believe so. You may have to kill root as well if you're using the upgrade assistant method.

Oxygen Os 10.0.10 Uk

Hello, I recently got on the Oneplus family. Went with the 7T pro.

Thanks

Is that a safe way? I'm a bit wary and always prefer the OTA. I'm happy to wait for it to drop if it's in phases as i'm not in a rush. I was just wondering why my phone isn't able to find the update through the system update?

The ota is downloadable through the app. Then you go to system updates then press menu and select local then pick the file. You could also rebrand to an eu or global firmware this way

Thank you I will give this ago if the OTA doesnt come soon.
Performance took a slight hit coming from 10.0.9 for me. Don't bother, you're not really missing much.
@Major75
Download to your phone from the official update UK website. The instructions are at the bottom of the page.
