need to get my one x+ back to stock, dont like custom rom. only problem is i have no back up as this is how i bought phone.
my cid is o2 001
have tried running o2 ruu 1.14.206.13.
please someone help???
Well, next time make sure you've backed up.
So there is a custom rom (yes its custom, but its stock with speed tweaks and such.) You should flash it. Do you know how to flash roms? Its here...

To revert back to stock you first have to lock the bootloader, which you can use the method I use by using an AIO noob proof toolkit that is in the android development section for this device. After you have locked the bootloader you can now run the ruu and the ruu will detect your phone and install everything back to factory. Now this will erase Everything on the phone including music pictures etc.
If you don't lock the bootloader the ruu will fail and not install. If you would like to install custom roms you will have to unlock the bootloader again.

Hey guys,
I seriously need some help, reverting my international HOX+ back to stock, as I am going to sell it.
My main problem is, that i have an o2 germany one, for that it seems to be impossible to get any suitable RUU
I am able to unlock / relock the bootloader, flash custom or stock recovery, flash any custom rom... not a problem.
But I'm stuck with the order of the steps! When I flash a stock rom (1.17.401.xx), my next step should be flashing stock recovery and then relock bootloader, right? I did so and got a security warning at bootloader and it seems, that there is no rom left on the phone.
How do I trick this, to relock, use stock rec. and stock rom?
Thanks for any help!!!
AW: Need help, going back to stock
you need the correct RUU for O2 brandings
yep. any news, where to get it?
thought, there might be a workaround...
I think there is no ruu atm.
I'll have a look for it.
AW: Need help, going back to stock
That would be very nice!

The only o2 ruu is this one:
http://www.androidfiles.org/ruu/sec...Radio_3.1204.167.31_release_289474_signed.exe
Based on your informations, you need a ruu for a german phone.
It doesn't matter that there is "UK" in the name.
The United Kingdoms are in europe, like germany.
Give it a try and tell me if it has worked or not.
If it doesn't work, open your Bootloader and flash an custom recovery/kernel/rom and wait until there's a dumped o2 ruu.

1.Go into the bootloader and make sure your phone is connected to your computer.
2.Relock your bootloader, using the cmd (Windows) or the terminal (Linux).
3.You make it with "fastboot oem lock".
4.Run the "ruu.exe" as administrator and let it work.
5.Drink a coffee and wait until it's done.
AW: Need help, going back to stock
Ok, many thanks for that!
I already tried that ruu, but maybe my fault was, I did not lock the bootloader, before.
Will try that, later this evening and give feedback

what about running ruu, extracting rom.zip and flashing this one? ruu could be 1.17.401 for example!?
will this work or result in a brick? is this method still possible on one x series? my evo 3d provided this while using a zip named to pc86img.zip (or very similar :cyclops
edit: if possible, will the phone check cid in the zip?
pretty much same here, except I am on O2 UK, and a higher version than the RUU available so it doesn't work, so frustrating, just want to go back to stock
alternate method would be: flashing a nandroid backup of a stock rom.
problem: don't own one
Is anybody out there, who can provide me a full backup of rom 1.17.207.xx with cid 02___102 o2 germany?
that would save my weekend, guys!
Hi.
I have the same problem but am on o2_UK i cant get back to stock.Doesn't mater whatever RUU i try is the same.
I have 1.17.401.1 cid02__001 and really badly need to go on stock ROM
Any help would be great.
Thanks a lot in advance.

seems like you have a phone with o2 cid, so your out of luck, there's no ruu that worsk with that version.
but there's a german forum i recently found, where you can find stock backups (including boot.img) and stock recoveries.
http://www.android-hilfe.de/root-cu...04-one-x-plus-ruu-s-fuer-htc-o2-vodafone.html
just put the backup into the right folder on your phone, make sure CWM/TWRP recognizes this backup, then flash stock boot.img in fastboot, restore stock backup in your recovery, flash stock recovery in fastboot and finally relock bootloader.
then your phone should be back to stock software.
thank you so far. another problem is I somewhere I have to delete Superuser and relock my bootloader to flash the stock rom. Thats why I deleted Superuser and locked my bootloader again. My question is now can I still flash to stock rom or do I have unlock bootloader again ?

you probably need to unlock your phone again.
as soon as you restored the stock backup, everything you had on your phone except internal storage will be replaced by stock software, all settings will be reset, all userdata will be wiped!!!
so better backup/copy everything you need to your computer before you restore that backup.
I'm aware of the OTA update next week that'll update me to Sense 6.
Currently displays in recovery:
Tampered
Unlocked
S-OFF
Currently on stock 4.4.2 rooted, no other kernel changes, etc. but the ROM I'm using has custom black boot screens added (literally just black instead of default white boot background).
Rooting is nice and all but getting tired and would just like to revert to pretty much locked bootloader, unrooted, factory condition, etc. and be able to also do OTA for future updates.
Any help is appreciated. Baby steps please.
Anyone?
First, relock your bootloader. To do that, start your phone in bootloader mode, connect your phone to pc via usb cable and type "fastboot oem lock" on command prompt. Next, download the proper ruu exe file from htc1guru.com. By proper,I mean the one that matches your phones actual model number and custom id. Execute the ruu while connecting your phone to pc in fastboot mode. Follow the on screen instructions and when finished, you will have s phone that says re locked and s-off. You will get ota in this condition and will be able to install ota and upgrade to Sense 6.0 without any problems.

Can I just flash that RUU in the link above? It should take me back to stock 4.4.2 with no modifications, stock recovery, and since I have an unlocked bootloader + S-OFF I should be able to get OTA's.
I'm just getting replies and finding info in other threads with different methods so I just don't want to screw up anything.

If you are only rooted with stock ATT software, unroot using the SuperSU app, make sure you have stock recovery, and you are golden. DO NOT turn S-ON, and also no need to lock bootloader, as with S-OFF, you will get updates with unlocked bootloader

I'm running stock AT&T 4.4.2 but the person who uploaded the ROM used a custom black boot screen (black HTC background instead of white when the phone boots) and so I was worried that might affect things. Hence I thought I could just flash an RUU to go back to 100% stock AT&T 4.4.2 (+ unroot) and maintaining unlocked bootloader + S-OFF so I can OTA.
EDIT: Could I just convert it to a Developer Edition using the link in your signature? Will there be any problems with my AT&T SIM card? All I have to do is relock bootloader and flash the Dev. Edition ROM.
Yes you can flash the decrypted ruu. It is the same as using the ruu exe.
If you haven't changed your mid and/cid,then what you need to is just lock the bootloader and flash the ruu (zip or exe). You will be on stock with s-off which is fine for getting ota.
Yes you can convert to developer edition. The DE and the at&t version are the same hardware-wise (except DE have 64gb storage instead of 32gb on at&t version) and have the same radio bands. You will get faster Android upgrades with no at&t bloats.

You may want to just try and apply the OTA when released. I'm not aware that S-OFF is a problem, I know an unlocked bootloader nor rooted isn't an issue. I got the Rogers OTA with an unlocked bootloader a rooted (by the way was still rooted after the OTA)
Just my 0.02

My understanding is that, if there's any modification in system files, applying OTA may result in a bootloop/brick. I agree that rooted devices remain rooted after OTA. As the OP said that s/he us using a rom with modified boot animation, I suggested him/her to return to stock first.
I almost cannot believe how many different ROMs I've tried to flash after wiping out my original ROM.
Bootloader unlocked and rooted I managaged to relock the bootloader while trying to fastboot flash a stock ROM, which also failed.
Beleive it or not, I've have found a couple that will boot up with my Sprint HTC One Max . I was able to re-unlock the bootloader, flash a new rom and even recover user data I had backed up to my PC via adb backup.
All this for not, as I still cannot find a Sense ROM that will flash on my device and allow me to unnlock the Sim via Sim Unlock Helper.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
TAMPERED
UNLOCKED
Sprint HTC One T6WL S-OFF
CID-SPCS_001
HBOOT-2.49.000
RADIO-1.48.50.0425
I recall reading somewhere that the Unlock Sim Helper should work on Sense 4.1.2 ROM. ????
Greetings,
I moved your thread to the correct forum (hopefully) for you to get the help you need.
Thanks,

RUU back to anything pre-4.4 and it should work. afaik you need a lower hboot/radio version
Hi I basically want to trade in my HTC desire 610 (EU addition) at CEX.
It is currently S-ON, deodexed & modified stock rom with JMZ kernel.
I want to be able to unroot and relock bootloader without signs of tampering as I will get less for it if they find it has been rooted.
I am fine to flash an odexed stock rom (im pretty sure there is one in the dev thread), but does anyone know how to get the bootloader back to its original state, when I have tried with other phones it always says "re-locked" instead of locked and is obvious it has been tampered with.
Any ideas?

You can do "fastboot oem lock" to re-lock the bootloader. This will change it from saying "unlocked" to "Locked". However it will still say "Tampered" above it and there is no way to get rid of that once it has been unlocked.
