SIM Unlock Sprint HTC One Max - HTC One Max

I almost cannot believe how many different ROMs I've tried to flash after wiping out my original ROM.
Bootloader unlocked and rooted I managaged to relock the bootloader while trying to fastboot flash a stock ROM, which also failed.
Beleive it or not, I've have found a couple that will boot up with my Sprint HTC One Max . I was able to re-unlock the bootloader, flash a new rom and even recover user data I had backed up to my PC via adb backup.
All this for not, as I still cannot find a Sense ROM that will flash on my device and allow me to unnlock the Sim via Sim Unlock Helper.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I moved your thread to the correct forum (hopefully) for you to get the help you need.

RUU back to anything pre-4.4 and it should work. afaik you need a lower hboot/radio version

[Q] cant unlock bootloader or flash stock rom htc legend help

HI hope someone can help me with this, i have tried without success to unlock my bootloader, i have updated to hboot 1.02 but when i try to do the fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin it sits at 0percent and doesn't move and no errors, i've tried this with my goldcard in and out of the phone and with cyanogen and b08 roms, also for some reason i can't flash the stock rom so i can get the required update from htc(thinking that's y the unlock code won't go), i've tried getting numerous ruu's and i was getting signature verification fails every time, i tried with windows the exe and also exracted the rom.zip and still no luck, i prefer using linux and adb though and tried numerous ways to get this to work with no success, i've also tried signing a rom.zip and the phone just says no signature, also tried renaming to LEGEIMG.zip and update.zip and just can't flash stock rom, also made a new goldcard thinking the other was bad and did the htcdev for the unlock code with a goldcard and without, also tried the ruu.exe in windows with new said goldcard and i think the other was bad because i get a different error now for reason it can't update my rom(was using the rom i originally rooted with which has sense). it says wrong bootloader version when i try and update, anyone know what i can do, i'm running outta ideas, thanks in advance
I Unlocked my bootloader with HTCdev. You said you tried. What went wrong?
If you have updated your phone to one of the ruus HTC gives you ( execute the exe ), there shouldn't be any problem : the HTC guide is clear and easy. If you have successuffly unlocked the bootloader, now you have to flash the clockwork recovery.
when i go to fastboot it stays on copying at 0 percent with the unlock_code.bin....My phone has root access before i ran the hboot update and still does but i can't flash the new ruu, it won't allow me to, i tried running the htc ruu and it fails with can't update, bootloader version incorrect, i tried with the b-08 rom, i can't get back to stock
Have you tried flashing this? ----> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497357
If you don't install one of the updates given by HTC, bootloader unlock won't work. If you have the same problems that I had ( my Legend also wasn't rooted ) the RUUs won't install, right? I flashed first this one and then one of the HTC RUUs and after this everything worked perfectly.
nope, i didn't try that one yet, but the thing is my legend was rooted before i tried flashing these htc ruus, i just want my bootloader unlocked, i had cyanogen on it then flashed a rooted one with sense (b08) thinking that would let me update but it didn't, so i'm downloading that one you pointed me to now, i'll try and flash it and let you know how it goes.
When i flash that rom i get a main version is older error when i rename it to LEGEIMG and flash it via fastboot, what can i do now?
I followed Blayo's guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=22613990&postcount=62 with my already rooted Legend. Try to follow exactly. You said using a gold card - don't think this is even necessary. At least I did not use one, and it is working perfectly.
After flashing the new bootloader, did you really unlock?
(last step of guide above: follow the instructions on HTCdev from Step 8 to unlock)
Wait, all the RUUs you have to flash before unlocking are HTC's executable files ( .exe ). You have updated your phone executing them, haven't you? After that I just rebooted my phone to fastboot and connected it. I found the unlock code, sent it to HTCdev, received an e-mail with the file to complete unlock and then unlocked. I never used anything like UPDATE.zip or LEGEIMG. I tried following the BlaYo's instructions but they didn't work for me. I just did what HTC said ( easyer and safer ).
hmmmmm

i solved my problem, i sold the phone and bought another legend. LOL, no seriously though, i did sell it and got another but i tried everything and couldn't unlock bootloader, i tried the exe files from htc, tried extracting the zip files, tried fastboot and renaming to LEGEIMG, just couldn't get it unlocked, so i flashed the latest cyanogen 7.2 and sold the darn thing, now i got another and made 50$ in the process as i bought the new one 50$ cheaper and i'm going to go through the htc channels to unlock the bootloader but does anyone know if i'll be able to flash cm7 after i do that?
bootloader

What do you mean with 'rooting again'? Once you have unlocked bootloader, you are able to flash a recovery, and then CM, which is rooted. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24102979 for latest Recovery and latest CM7.2 builds
Ok just to update i flashed the HTC dev bin file again and had restore cm7 backup and bootloader is unlocked once again.
got her goin good now, unlocked bootloader with htcdev, fastboot flashed cwm, then i was able to flash cm7.2 and gapps no problem at all, now if we could only s-off the legend???

After unlocking boot loader:
1. Use htcsupertoolv3 to root
2. Install rom manager and titanium backup
3. Run titanium backup. It will ask you to update su. accept (i'm not sure if this step is required, but this is how i done it)
4. Copy recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-legend to your Android folder created during bootloader unlock
5. With your phone on fastboot mode open terminal in your PC android folder and type:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-legend.img
Your phone will go to recovery mode.
6. Reboot your phone in normal mode
7. From now on, each time you want to go into recovery, use rom manager
Done

So for what I have understood from HTCdev, you can do everything similar to S-OFF, with one exception: you cannot unlock a SIM lock.

True, you can't. I'm not sure if flashing a custom rom will unlock it, as my phone sim card was unlocked from very beginning. Probably not?

[Q] How would i go about Sim Unlocking an ATT HTC one with S-off conv to GPE

Just wanted to ask a question of you guys, I have an ATT HTC one with S-off and converted to Googgle Play edition. i bought a Sim unlock code and i tried to unlock but code did not work as i read i apparently need to be using an original sense ROM. My question is can i just reboot to boorloader then reboot to RUU and flash original ATT decrypted zip? If so do i need to lock the bootloader still or not? I think i only need to re lock the bootloader when running the original RUU but in this instance all i want to do is shoot the original att.zip to it and the go backl to Google play edition.
So here is what i did. I relocked the bootloader then i changed the CID to CWS__001 from GOOGL001. Then i restored TWRP backup from thethe other thread that bypassed the 1.54 bootloader. Upon booting it would not work. At this point i thought about giivng up then i unlocked the bootloader and changed the CID. Remarkably it booted up to Sense and stock ATT ROM. I was able to SIM unlock my phone and now i am going back to HTC One Google Play Edition! YAY for reading more and more threads!
wait waht?
dfggggggg
I know this thread is a few months old, but I am in the exact same situation. I fully converted my AT&T HTC One to the Google Play Edition (including the CID). I tried to SIM unlock it, but it was unsuccessful. So you just changed your CID back and flashed a backup of an AT&T ROM? Can you point me to the AT&T backup you used? This is a pain to do, but I would really like to SIM unlock my phone. Then I will be going back to GPE.
Figured it Out
So I Googled a little more before I went all the way back to stock AT&T ROM by changing the CID back. I saw a comment somewhere that someone had just flashed any Sense-based ROM and SIM unlocking had worked. So from running 4.4.2 Google Play Edition ROM, I simply flashed the latest version of ViperOne ROM (found in the forums) through TWRP Recovery. Once it booted, I inserted the T-Mobile SIM I have and the SIM unlock code worked! From there I just performed the RUU update back to 4.4.2 GPE and everything is good. By the way, the unlock code I bought was from UnlockCode247.com and it worked perfectly. Plus it was only $3.50 so it was a bargain too.

[Q] How to get Stock Rom back ???

seems like you have a phone with o2 cid, so your out of luck, there's no ruu that worsk with that version.
but there's a german forum i recently found, where you can find stock backups (including boot.img) and stock recoveries.
http://www.android-hilfe.de/root-cu...04-one-x-plus-ruu-s-fuer-htc-o2-vodafone.html
just put the backup into the right folder on your phone, make sure CWM/TWRP recognizes this backup, then flash stock boot.img in fastboot, restore stock backup in your recovery, flash stock recovery in fastboot and finally relock bootloader.
then your phone should be back to stock software.
thank you so far. another problem is I somewhere I have to delete Superuser and relock my bootloader to flash the stock rom. Thats why I deleted Superuser and locked my bootloader again. My question is now can I still flash to stock rom or do I have unlock bootloader again ?

you probably need to unlock your phone again.
as soon as you restored the stock backup, everything you had on your phone except internal storage will be replaced by stock software, all settings will be reset, all userdata will be wiped!!!
so better backup/copy everything you need to your computer before you restore that backup.

[Q] unlocking bootloader on 1.xx

After two days of searching I'm sucking it up and just asking you guys...
I have s-off but my bootloader is locked. I tried the one click superCID method and it outputs 111111 but its still locked when I try to flash a recovery.
I tried to use rumrunner even though its 2.xx because it worked for someone else and it said I needed root first...
My phone won't bug me to update OTA to get to 2.xx but think that might be a good thing... please help. My ultimate goal is to flash NuSenseSix
Day 3 still no luck...
I've tried the SuperCID method found on this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36976137#post36976137
- problem is the file that is linked is CID 1 and not CID-2.apk So I am outputting 11111 instead of 222222 which doesn't work on HTC Dev. Anyone have the updated supercid file? *this thread is locked so you can't ask for help there*
I've also tried this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2011611
Except for all of the mirrors are either missing or from corrupted websites
You do not state your software version, I suggest you try Sunshine. It may or may not work.

If you are s off you can unlock using an adb command. Also, you need an ruu mode twrp.
I can help you flash a custom recovery and update your firmware using team viewer

[Q] CRITICAL: Messed up device badly (not hard bricked)

I was trying to flash my AT&T HTC One M8 to either T-Mobile or Google Play Edition. I rooted, unlocked my bootloader, got S-Off, but my firmware/hboot was outdated (3.16). I tried to flash CM12 instead, and here's where I messed up. I tried to flash the AT&T stock RUU ZIP without relocking the bootloader and now my HBOOT says "Software status: Modified". I'm running CM12, and all RUU exe don't detect my phone. I just want to convert my M8 to the T-Mobile or GPE. Any help is GREATLY appreciated,

The RUU isn't recognizing your phone because you have a non HTC rom on your phone. Just flash one of the various stock roms from this forum and then you can use the RUU. Secondly, you don't have to re-lock your bootloader if you are s-off to run the RUU.

Hi, Since you do have a working device with a rom on it, all you need to do is find a T-Mobile Rom that is compatible with the At&t version. Make sure this is a stock rom because an accidental flash can hard brick your device. Thanks.

AFAIK, the ROM doesn't need to be stock to RUU, only to OTA. There doesn't even need to be a ROM on the device to RUU.
Also, if there was something wrong with the phone's configuration, an error message would have been the result; not failing to connect to the phone.
If the RUU isn't recognizing the device at all, there is probably a fundamental USB connectivity issues. OP should try to :
- Make sure phone is booted into OS, or into bootloader-fastboot mode to RUU. "Regular" bootloader mode or recovery won't work.
- Try another USB cable or port, even another computer if possible (in particular USB 3.0 doesn't play well with RUUs).
- Uninstall and re-install HTC Sync and Drivers.
Also, keep in mind that in order to run an RUU that is different from your version (which is the case for T-Mob RUU or GPE RUU on an AT&T device) you need to change the CID and MID to correspond to the RUU. This won't cause failure to connect, but will cause the RUU to fail with an error message.

The AT&T variant won't support all 3G (HSPA) and 4G (LTE) bands used by T-Mobile if you just flash a T-Mob ROM. You need to install the T-Mob firmware to enable full T-Mob band support; which the RUU does.
Also, the RUU will "fully convert" to the T-Mob or GPE versions; and allow official OTA updates for that version, if that is what the OP is looking for. But the band support is the more important factor.

Not sure what is trying to be conveyed here. No ROMs (stock or custom) meant for the "GSM" versions of the M8 (meaning stay away from Sprint and Verizon specific ROMs) will brick your phone.
Flashing a ROM meant for another device can brick your phone (and may be possible with s-off), but again, that isn't what you stated (although may be what you meant)
Thanks to all.
I ended up figuring it out using the steps below.
•ADB sideload CM12 via TWRP
•Once booted started USB debugging
•Changed the MID to the GPe (using ADB shell)
•Changed CID from CWS__001 to GOOGL001
•Rebooted into bootloader (fastboot oem rebootRUU)
•Found the RUU zip (can't post the link- too new)
•Pushed it to the phone (fastboot flash zip)
•Failed
•Flashed again
•Success
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Free mobile app
