[Q] Help me with I9300xxdlid rooted - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I bought i9300 and after a month the mobile network disappeared
I give my phone to the company and they back it to me with root
I cant update it
so what can I do to UnRoot my device to be able receive update from antina
my device 19300XXDLID , android V. 4.1.1
Can any one help me and give me the guide with links to fix my problem
Thank you

Give it back to the company and ask them what the hell is going on. That should resolve the issue.
Anything you do MIGHT void the warranty.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app

You can unroot it by flashing a stock ROM on it

As said return to service Root has voided warranty .
But how do you know its rooted if you don't understand the basics ??

do you need any other information?
thanks for helping

Go Here

If it was a Samsung repair centre then they have broken the terms of Samsungs contract .
No need to put root on the phone any service centre would just update the rom .
REPEAT give it back to your supplier they are at fault .
If you start flashing roms then that's your choice .
Root voids warranty = not a Samsung service centre or legitimate phone vendor ??? who repaired it ??

Flash an update via Odin ..... it's simple , fast with no warranty void and no risk whatsoever. Just read this thread and follow instructions word for word.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
I'd recommend XXKJ1/3 (2.3.5) as the latest most stable release.
What update methods have you tried? Kies and OTA?

I pulled the cable from my former rooted S2 while it was flashing with Odin.
The result -> bricked phone
I had to return the phone to be fixed/replaced within warranty.
Told them that my wife pulled the cable while the phone was connected to the computer (probably updating )
The replaced the phone.
Until now, I've returned 3 phones for warranty.
All rooted.
No problem.
After you root it, if you need to return for warranty, you can flash a stock firmware and it's like new.
you mean to say that if i root my phone i lose my warranty and then if i have to go to service centre then i have to install stock ROM to phone and they never know that i rooted my phone ??
reply me ...

they will know! you just can't cheat by flashing a stock f/w. the download mode reveals the truth.

Root or custom rom voids warranty .
Following the procedure in the HowTo return your phone to stock for warranty guide will in most cases restore warranty .
But its more than just install stock rom .

Hi,
Have been searching for a few days to solve this, have a rooted i9100, and for some reason, imei resetted to 0049xxxxx , i have my original imei from sticker on phone, would nayone be kind enough to help me solve this?

No EFS backup = take it to a Samsung service centre or local mobile repair shop. Nothing anyone here can do to help you.
Edit - Try flashing a bunch of stock roms & pray it's only a temporary thing (don't get your hopes up though).

If u have EFS backup, u can try the steps here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17587351
else
Get an app named 'srs-samsung-unlock' from the samsung site.. log in using their test account and u can use it to get ur imei back...! I went thru the process myself..! u can find the instuctions in the site about how to repair ur imei.. u cant unlock without payment but u can repair ur imei.. U have to b on rooted ICS or rooted GB to use it. Wil exit wit an error if on JB as it has a bug. Good luck...

Tried SRS unlock method and imei repair but needs 30euro before it attempts it, bit of a rip off, wont work with test account, or am I missing something.
This only option??

i tried with the
username: test
password: srscom
and it worked like a charm for me.. managed to repair ma friends IMEI that way.. i got this test account in one of the samsung sites itself.. dunno where exactly unfortunately.. Search n u wil find many on google that help.. cant unlock but allows repair.. Be in ICS or below though.. or it wil ruin ur EFS more..
i searched for a week n discovered this account.
Try in HERE for another solution that may help.
Ther were certain users who can help u for a fee though..
One way or another you're paying for a fix.

Ya but only if u r unlucky with the login IDs... I fixed it without payin a penny.. Like i said, used those userID n password n it worked.. Besides, u get a lot o IDs if u search that have the required amount of points for the fixing.. :good:
The phone i restored was a product not from my country and so the service center also refused its fixing.. had to do it myself n with that useriD, voila..!
