I pulled the cable from my former rooted S2 while it was flashing with Odin.
The result -> bricked phone
I had to return the phone to be fixed/replaced within warranty.
Told them that my wife pulled the cable while the phone was connected to the computer (probably updating )
The replaced the phone.
Until now, I've returned 3 phones for warranty.
All rooted.
No problem.
After you root it, if you need to return for warranty, you can flash a stock firmware and it's like new.

you mean to say that if i root my phone i lose my warranty and then if i have to go to service centre then i have to install stock ROM to phone and they never know that i rooted my phone ??
reply me ...

they will know! you just can't cheat by flashing a stock f/w. the download mode reveals the truth.

Root or custom rom voids warranty .
Following the procedure in the HowTo return your phone to stock for warranty guide will in most cases restore warranty .
But its more than just install stock rom .

Flash an update via Odin ..... it's simple , fast with no warranty void and no risk whatsoever. Just read this thread and follow instructions word for word.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
I'd recommend XXKJ1/3 (2.3.5) as the latest most stable release.
What update methods have you tried? Kies and OTA?

[Q] Help me with I9300xxdlid rooted

Hi
I bought i9300 and after a month the mobile network disappeared
I give my phone to the company and they back it to me with root
I cant update it
so what can I do to UnRoot my device to be able receive update from antina
my device 19300XXDLID , android V. 4.1.1
Can any one help me and give me the guide with links to fix my problem
Thank you
Give it back to the company and ask them what the hell is going on. That should resolve the issue.
Anything you do MIGHT void the warranty.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
You can unroot it by flashing a stock ROM on it
As said return to service Root has voided warranty .
But how do you know its rooted if you don't understand the basics ??

Go Here
If it was a Samsung repair centre then they have broken the terms of Samsungs contract .
No need to put root on the phone any service centre would just update the rom .
REPEAT give it back to your supplier they are at fault .
If you start flashing roms then that's your choice .
Root voids warranty = not a Samsung service centre or legitimate phone vendor ??? who repaired it ??

Help reverting to stock recovery and unroot without power button

So, i run on this problem - my power button just gave up on working. Everything else is working fine on my cellphone.
Thing is, i have it rooted, and i have twrp, i need to revert to stock so i can send it to warranty.
I'm running stock KIW-L21C432B140 with 5.1.1 version.
Any hints on how i can revert to stock firmware/recovery & unroot, without using the power button?
Thanks in advance
Just use "adb reboot recovery" to get to TWRP and restore a backup of stock. (Check the file depot thread if you need one)
Thanks @halomademeapc for your quick answer! So, restoring the full stock image will get me unrooted, stock recovery and obviously the stock firmware, is that right?
