Backup apps and data for multiusers account (rooted/unrooted) - Nexus 10 Themes and Apps

Hello guys,
Titanium 6 can't backup app and data of my others users... very boring
Do you know how backup data and apps for multi users account?
Thx
rOol.

try my backup root. its free. ive had my backup pro for about 3 years now. its all i use. it may solve your problem.

Hello,
Not sure if the division between accounts would actually allow you to backup apps of other people since it would show what their apps and data are, thereby breaking their security. That said, you may try Rom Toolbox Pro and see if it works! Feel free to email [email protected] with ur results!

WhatyU guys use for nonroot Backup app? MyBackup?

Seems the inly one that backs up data also.
MyBackup has a non root version now! It is in the market.
I love My Backup Root...intending on buying pro soon.
I don't get the purpose of these backup applications unless you have like 80 apps. I can remember all of the apps I normally use. Google backs everything else up don't they?
I use it mainly for backing up the data from within a program. Things like high scores on games.

u sure mybackup will restore an app's data on a non-root phone? not just the app apk? i have seen several places that restore the app's data wont work.
i actually only have the paradise island saved game that i am really interested in....
As far as I know, in order for an app to restore your apk data, it needs root access to write to the system.

bye bye Paradise Island..... i will miss my vacation get-away
That is right, a phone has to have Root access and then MyBackup can support the Data of the applications. But, it will also work on non-root phones.
Also, it can backup and restore system data like SMS, MMS, bookmarks, music playlists, etc. for NON-ROOT phone and BETWEEN ALL ROMS, which is something no other application on the market can do.
MyBackup Root is a free application for root users that will give you the ability to restore ALL your apps at once, without having to click through each one by one, like titianium free makes you do.
U can always unzip the apk in the titanium folder and install the app

But that is a pain, using MyBackup it will do everything for you.
mybackup root only lets you back up and restore to the same model phone
I have tried to restore app n data to my 3d from my 4g. Only app gets installed; data does not. SMS and contacts restore fine.

Install all apps at once

Hi!
Any way of having my Galaxy Nexus automatically start downloading my favorite apps from Market when I format my phone.
I have millions of apps and it takes always so much time to download them again. For example If I change rom its annoying to start installing all the needed apps when I t could easily just load the basic software automatically.
Somehow last time my phone did download BeautifulWidgets without my "permission" from the market and installed it.
So any possibilities to make this happen?

That is google backup feature. It will download all your preveously purchased app only.
I would rather suggest to buy Titanium Backup Pro. Damn good for app backup and restore in batch mode. Good filtering . You can even set the location of your app .
You need root permission to run it. But trust me it will be worth purchase...
You can always use MyBackup Root...is free is efficient and can also backup sms mms system settings etc

Seconded, I am a frequent flasher running a nightly ROM, so I live by Titanium Backup. The paid version allows for an express, confirmation free batch restore. Just set it, leave it, then once it's finished, reboot it.

I agree, Titanium Backup is the finest of its league. It'll cost you some money, but its totally worth it.
If you just want the apps use this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1314443
It also has a ton of other features, but it makes a flashable backup of all your apps then just flash the zip file and all your apps are back. It's much quicker than titanium but i use titanium for data. Best of all its free...
Hello and sorry for taking so much to answer but my Firefox lost all my tabs and I didn't remember this after that.
Okkay so thanks for the answer but those are backup software :/
I know how to backup but I would like it to work different.
Like for instance now I just got back to stock because wanted to see if I can update to 4.0.3 or 4.0.4 but sadly wasn't able.
So now I am probably gonna go to AOKP and after that is installed I need to once again install that big list of apps and its really slow downloading the one at a time from the market.
So I would like to have some way that I have list of programs I want and a software would get the apps from the market for me so I don't really need to do anything.

What you're wanting is much more time consuming and less efficient than the suggestions posted here. Your data wouldn't be restored, so you would have to setup the apps again anyway. You'd have to wait for the market to try to download all of those apps at once, which takes longer than restoring. And there are already apps out there that do what you want to do, the apps just aren't redownloaded from the market. Titanium Backup has other features too, and really helps with clean installs.
I don't think that what you want exists, aside from the built in Google backup. If you'd rather keep doing what you're doing instead of using backup/restore software, it's your time to waste.

App reinstall between ROMs

Jumping from rom to rom the app reinstall process becomes something of a pain.
What do you guys do to speed this up?

There is an option that google can sync all your apps. But I don't use that.
I use titanium backup PRO (non pro version does not work too well in this case). It's not about installing needed apps faster but also I keep my data, for example highscores

You have to be a little careful in ny experience in reinstalling all apps and data using titanium. After a few reinstalls you can get issues with memory / slowing, particularly if you are changing between different versions android.
I use Mybackup Pro to back up call logs and sms. I use app2zip to save a cwm flashable version of all my apps (to save reinstalling them all). I use a titanium backup to restore the datavto a few critical apps. That way, the installs are as clean as possible.

Do you keep highscores or game achievements that way? I play some games where I really don't want to loose my progress, unlocked content ...
I use GO BACKUP it works great for getting my applications and data back. Had no problems at all with it.
Go with titanium back up pro. Only back up user apps and user app data. Otherwise you'll have issues.
To the poster that warned you about being careful restoring apps don't listen. You won't have any problems if you restore user apps and data, only system apps and data will cause issues. I have yet to experience any issues restoring user apps and data and I've switched roms, switched android versions (gb to ics) switched devices (multiple times) and have never had issue restoring user apps and data
And why you want the pro paid version is it has a batch operation. If you don't have the pro version you have to sit there and press "install" for each app it restores with the pro version its automatic so no need to confirm every time a app is restored

thanks guys for the useful advice! although i think ill try the free app2zip before paying for ti pro key.

backing up apps...

Ok so this isn't a DNA specific question so if it needs to be moved or removed someone feel free to do so....
I would like to know if there is a way to back up paid apps.. (by paid I mean ones that I paid for, not stealing paid apps...) I know that since JB paid apps are now in a different folder and encrypted(i think they are encrypted)..
I will explain my question for matters of full disclosure..
I bought the Star Wars angry bird HD version back when it came out.. as some of you know the app doesn't work on the DNA, but it now works with the arrival of the OTA.. only problem is if i flash a ROM with the new OTA and wipe data in the process the app is gone, and now the app shows not compatible with my device in the Play Store so I cannot install it again post ROM install...
If the answer to my question is no, you can't backup paid apps anymore then that is fine, just thought I would ask.
I assume at some point I won't care as hopefully Rovio will update the app and it will officially work on the DNA so all this will be null and void, but I can still ask..
I just use titanium backup.

Well if you backup with titanium (I know there are other apps too) you can backup paid apps and free apps makes no difference. They all backup just the same. Hope this answers your question.
Try 'Carbon' from CWM Team
Yeah any root backup app will do the trick titanium backup is probably by far the best

So I backed up the angry birds app via Carbon... and when i try and restore the app, carbon says i need to redownload the app first then restore app data but the app show not compatible in the play store.. so just an FYI I don't think Carbon backs up paid apps.. I haven't tried titanium since having angry birds star wars isn't the most important thing to me just thought I would update this thread with my findings.
on a side note I also made a backup of my sms/call log with carbon and it wouldn't restore that once i was done installing my new ROM so at the moment not terribly impressed with the Carbon app...
All i did was do a complete wipe going from the original firmware to a ROM with the 2.04 update baked in... I am glad I used the super backup app to backup my sms messages as well as that one restored no issues..
Use titanium. Its best and does everything you just talked about. Sm works across rom and with lots if apos even across device

Add me to the list of very happy titanium users. Titanium Backup Pro is probably the best investment I've made in the play store.
The most important thing though is learning to use the filters. The most common problem I find when troubleshooting is users accidentally restore old system apps and data.
Usually, the user didn't realize they restored system files, because they usually do a batch backup when they first get the pro version of the app without setting up the filters to only backup user apps.
So they learn about filters and do another batch backup with only user apps and app data. But all that system data is still in the titanium folder, so a few months down the road they slip up and restore everything, and since the recent backup was only user apps, they forget that all the old stuff is in the titanium backup folder.
So I suggest playing with the app some, then after learning how to use filters, then copying the titanium folder to the PC or just deleting it, and starting fresh.

[Q] Imaging the Nexus 9

I got my son (he bought it) a Nexus 9 at launch from the Play Store. It has some of the design issues and we may need to swap it, but he's hesitant since he's got all his apps and settings on it now. Without rooting, is there any way to transfer everything to a new device. We have held off on rooting due to warranty issues and wanting to get a few updates down before tweaking it. Can I just copy all the system folders and files to the new device or is it more complex than tha. I own Titanium Backup for my other android devices but it only works with Root. Any easy way to do it.
Try helium backup. Also Google's backup works really well. When you get the new device It should restore it. Make sure you have backup and reset on in the existing device.

If you are going to give the nexus 9 another try, there is no need, lollypop backs up all settings and apps (allthough not app settings) and restores them on first setup from the cloud.

Would that include all the stored data in the particular app too - That's what I loved about Titanium

No, the data inside the app would be lost, you can use as jd1639 said "helium", which even if you are not root, has a method to backup apps and app data.
Here is the link to the app, give it a try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.backup.
