My phone is rooted and running Nils' Business Sense 3.6 ROM. I deleted the stock SMS app and installed Chomp SMS. It sends text messages, but does not receive them. The dev says I need to re-install the stock SMS app. I looked through my backups and found:
com.htc.htcMessageUploader-6208ef0ef298bdc0557a22dfc665b438.apk.
Does anyone know if this is what I need and can I just install it using an APK installer?
Thanks

I installed chompSMS, which I was pleased with. so to free a little more precious memory I removed the system messaging apk.
now it seems I don't recieve SMS messages :-(, sending still ok.
has anyone else removed this apk?
could someone send me the apk?
I think its called messaging.apk but I'm not sure, as foolishly I never backed it up?
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
Hmmmm
Yes if you delete the mms.apk , you will only be able to send the message but not recieve any...
I've uploaded the mms.apk , you can push it into /system/app using 'push' or busybox cp/mv

adb push mms.apk /system/app
I rooted my Virgin Mobile Samsung Intercept and uninstalled all the calendar files (stupid, i know) but I can't figure out how to reinstall them. I have tried installing the calendar provider, calendar apk, and odex files that I download, but nothing will install. Is there a custom ROM that I can flash that will install google calendar again or another way to get back the calendar function?
Nevermind
Thank you EducateAndInnovate for the post on bROM!! Totally fixed my phone and added some extras that are wonderful! I do have a follow up question though, when I look at Titanium Backup at the ROM storage, it is almost doubled. Did I install two ROMs? Is that even possible? Or is bROM just a bit larger than the stock ROM?
So, I could only view my last 25 emails with the stock SGS4 email.apk, and well, thats a problem. So, I tried to install the stock AOSP apk files, but, now, whenever I try to open email, it freezes the phone for a little and says exchange services have stopped responding and email has stopped responding.
So, if anyone can help me a) install the AOSP email app or b) Install the stock email app (i dont have a backup unfortunately)
Thanks guys!

Which email? Gmail or Normal email Client?
I've just installed CM11 M9 and the latest 4.4.4 gapps on my S3 with CWM recovery 6.0.4.7. I had to reinstall some of the CM11 apps back in after the gapps install and now have the following problem:
In the Default SMS app settings box, I have,
1. SMS Backup & Restore
2. Hangouts (which the phone defaulted to)
3. Helium
4. Titanium Backup
Although both the standard messaging app and Viber are installed, neither of these appear in the list. Is there any way I can change the default SMS service to either messaging or Viber?
FIXED

Hey everyone!
I just installed eRobot ROM v8.6 (thanks to dev) to my N910C Note4, I just customize it with deleting unnecessary apps in /system/app & /system/priv-app using a script. The ROM works perfect, and I can open any messaging app such as the stock or Textra, but the problem is all of them (whether stock or 3rd Party messaging app) crashes when I try to open any SMS, so I think there is a system app I deleted by mistake that read SMS, but I don't know its name to install it again! so can anyone tell me the dependencies of the messaging app? so I know which system app I deleted it by mistake
Thanks!
Regards,
addas
It would be easier to look at the script and see what it deletes.
