Hi,
I have just got my SGSIII and lovin it. I was using Motorola Atrix 2 prior and on it, I had set external SD (Micro SD card) as 'Default Write ****'.
So all my settings (TiBack, Nova, Whatapp, Other apps stuff,) is in there. So my question is this,
Shall I go ahead and do whatever thats needed to swap the storages like I had on my prev. phone or Keep it as it is and use the Samsung Galaxy SIII default setup??
I can definitely see some advantages. Install apps and data to internal SD and use External SD as purely for photos, videos and such stuff..roms and crap. But would like to know what is standard going on.
If I decide to Dual-boot will I have any issues?
Also If I choose to switch roms,..What is the best option?
Thanks and regards,
NHS2008
P.S. How the hell can I remove the 'Tap and hold screen to add items' on blank screens!!??
Anyone?? Shall I stick with internal as internal or make ext. internal??
This is asked and answered all over the forum .
If you cannot even find the basic stickied faqs and guides then leave storage alone .

I am unable to transfer Music and photos on my S3 to micro sd card.
Any ideas or app to it??? Usual apps are not working!
connect your device to the pc via usb.
wait a minute for the drivers to install
go to "my computer" and open GT-i9300->SDCARD
create a folder "media" and put those files there

Im complaining only due to the usage of the forums not the question.
Questions go to the Q&A subsection not the general forum.

I want to root my Galaxy S2 without changing kernel version and found the solution at the link above, but I have no micro SD card available. Is there another way to do it without a card?
And I quote
" Choose install zip from sdcard or external SD"
In other words phone memory or sd card also I would like to ask do you really need root if you didn't notice the instructions

Yes I need root.
And, maybe I have a different recoverymeny, cause I can only select to browse external SD card or Cache. I cannot select "sdcard" or phone memory or anything else that is browsable.
Talk about idiot i cant read lol it has to be done via external sd, there cheap enough, near enough all phones use them cant u borrow one for half hour

Wow! thanks for welcoming me to the forum by calling me an idiot! I feel very welcome here.. not! I hope you get a warning from the moderators.
Of course I can read, it clearly says to use an SD-card, that I understand, but since I don't have any micro SD card I just asked if there is another way. I want to root my phone without using an SD-card and without modifying the kernel.
I you know a way, please respond, but if you are here just to call people idiots then maybe you are in the wrong forum.
So i called myself an idiot for not being able to read as i read the thread you linked wrong and i insulted myself but you couldn't read that go figure.
Secondly you have a couple of options to root grab a cheap micro sd or use a insecure kernel, but as most people on here want spoon feeding everything nowadays because they can't be bothered to read if it could be done a different way it would have a thread if you can't post in that thread go in off topic and post till you have met the requirements to be able to post in certain threads.

it doesnt work it reads my usb memory as a SD card , my sd card is 8 gb and it reads my usb memory as 11 gb
I don't understand You Have Usb memory and SD card ? can you explain ?
there is plenty of space for apps on sgs2 .. so you dont need to install them on your SD-Card ...
the internal SD Card is much faster though .. so you will have more fun starting them

There are several methods(whatever method you will need root) , one is swapping the internal and external memory card so all apps will directly install into the sd card(there are several threads on how to do it, I think there is an app in play store too) , and other method is using a third party application like directory bind.
Edit:
A simple search gave me this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010152 it contains the vold.fstab file for your version too.
You should try searching properly, If one man can do it, another can.
Using GT - I9100
Just hit the damn help button if I helped you.
After I formatted my SD Card due to a write protected file I couldn't delete (I backed up every file on the SD card except the write protected file then pasted them back onto the sd card), I go into 'My Files' then All Files it shows 2 options: SD card and Internal Storage.
When I go into SD Card, it shows the directory "/storage/extSdCard", but where is the sdcard0 directory? So I can access all files & apps etc
Also I've noticed that when I view a large app (GTA SA) in the application manager the option to move to sd card is greyed out. This isn't because I'm running out of storage, I've got around 27GB free.
Man this is annoying

Weird way to respond. If you can't be bothered to help yourself then you'll have to learn to live with it.
