I'm using this rom cm_olympus_CM10_unofficial_20130101_v1_By_Novang. Is there any other cm10 kernels available? My wifi performance seems very poor. I went from 1.100.00R to 1.77.30P with no effect. I think it's a kernel issue so maybe someone can give me some insight on CM10 kernels for the atrix.
My guess is nothing is available to help and there are zero additional cm10 kernels. Ones with optimized wifi, gpu overclock, cpu overclock.
THANKS

Any1 can explain what are the benefits of flashing from stock kernel to Ziggy kernel? New to rooting scene, so laymen terms would be great. thx
I'm not the most knowledgeable on the subject, but I believe the main benefits would be increased speed (overclocked to 1.83 GHZ) and improved battery usage. I'm sure someone else can provide more specifics.
There are a few reason to use a custom kernel. You can overclock the CPU from 1500 MHz to around 1800 MHz with Ziggys kernel. This usually makes the phone run faster. Ziggys kernel also has some settings built in that make the processor act differently under different circumstances. This usually helps with battery life. For example, when the screen is off, it may lower the processor speed to use less battery. it really gives you the user more control over your device. The kernel is also responsible for other things that get put in such as recording your phone conversation. I am probably missing more things but these should give you some ideas. Happy flashing!
Ziggys kernel is undervolted a bit which will use less battery in general. If you get a cpu control app such as "SetCPU" or "AnTuTu CPU Master" you can use profiles to underclock your processor while your screen is off/on the phone/charging/etc. Not only will it optimize performance it can also improve battery life.
Hey guys I was just wondering if you knew of kernels for the Amaze that I could use with ICS. I just want something with the ability to underclock, since stock seems to drain a little for me.
From what I've been reading, HTC has yet to release some drivers or the kernel source code (or something like that. Until that happens, I don't think any kernels will be developed.
By underclock, do you mean lowering the max cpu speed? System Tuner Pro can help with that.

Wifi drivers is whats missing. Been looking foward to faux custom kernel for ics, my bets htc releases them once the official ota comes to our phones
Amaze Speed Rom
Hi tried searching but no luck. Just want to know if I can overclock / undervolt on a stock kernel rather than a custom kernel like Doom's kernel. Reason is I had bad experiences with changing Kernels with my samsung galaxy s, like signal problems, battery problems etc, its especially signal problems, it made my 3g even slower than hell.
No, it's not possible.

you cannot becose the kernel is the one who stops the cpu to pass a certain frequency, but on the xps i don't think you need to overclock, i tested the cpu with a running video at 1080p and playng gta 3 or Riptide Gp at same time and i didn't succeed to froze the the device, and both game and video run smooth with no shutters at all!

Hello, I'm have a GT-P7510 running Task's ICS, kernel 3.1.10 (stock one i think, no other kernels have been flashed)
I was playing Mass Effect Infiltrator (yes, we can play it even though Play store says it isnt compatible) and find that it lags like hell at the final boss (runs smoothly before that though). I also install the Mass Effect live wallpaper and find that it kinda laggy. In addition to some minor lags with TW, I decided to OC it. I'm a noob and I think I might wanna find some info about this issue first before frying or bricking my tab.
So, can I OC it with this kernel? If not, what other kernel can I flash? If so, is there a free app to OC? How can I set the specs with that app (for best experience)? I find myself confused when I hear about "undervoltage" somewhere. Can it help me save my battery? The battery in sleep mode is kinda good though, 0-1% loss when left overnight.
And final question, does OC-ing eat up my battery???
Can you OC with what kernel? You didn't mention the kernel you flashed to overclock.
Clock speed can be changed with Antutu CPU Master.
Overclocking will "eat" your battery if you go high. 1200 or 1400 Mhz should be fine.
I didn't flash any kernel. The 3.1.10 kernel came with the rom.

You have to flash a custom kernel to overclock. Check the development section.
from what i read, there are yoda and A1, which one is better, and more stable? oh and do you know what keyboard out there is best? SwiftKey is good but auto correct is so damn annoying.
Flyer is running Senseless v4 HC 3.2.1 rom (based off Virtuous Rom) and it is fairly smooth but would like to try and speed it up as fast as possible and still remain stable.
Question #1: The rom is packaged with an HTC kernel (assuming stock). Is this capable of being overclocked or do I need a custom kernel such as Leedroid?
Question #2: If/when I get the proper kernel to allow overclocking does anyone want to share their SetCPU settings? Or recommend a different way to overclock?
Because of the age of this device just want to milk every last bit of speed from it until it dies.
A month and no reply. *BUMP*
I am now on oc 1.86/384 smartass v2 leedroid kernel. Going well ve not experience kernel panic and no overheating. Have not tried any higher as this is good enough. Cheers

1) Stock kernel will not allow you to overclock, you need a custom kernel.
2) Every individual device and processor is different. By definition, another person's CPU may be capable of certain overclock speeds, where yours will not (or vice versa). For that reason, another person's SetCPU settings aren't going to do you much good. Just start stepping up the CPU clock a bit at a time, and use the device for a while and see if it functions properly with no errors. Just like overclocking anything else.

Thanks for the reply.
Problem now is it looks as though the rom I have currently is packaged with the a stock HTC kernel. Cannot find a working link to either Leedroid's HC kernel or any other custom kernels.
**EDIT...NM, link is working now. Go figure**
