Just for the shiz and giggles, I was wondering which 4.2.1 Rom have you guys had the most success with? Flappjaxxx's (available on his goo.im for the uninformed), Manels Jellybeer, or JamieD81
s preview build?
Also, would love to know what Governors you guys are running, and if your using Flapps 4.2.1 kernels. (He's been uploading new ones almost daily.)
I personally am using Manels Jellybeer at the moment with Flapps Alt kernel (I'm one of the unlucky ones with tricky capacitive buttons) , I love the DPI groupings, although I have tried Jamie's build and loved it as well. Probably gonna try Flapps latest Beta 4 out tonight and give it for a spin for a few days. Let me know something guys:good: and keep supporting our devs, would love to keep all three of them up and running for us, so don't be afraid to flash that i717 to death with all the new builds (not literally to death)
Jamie's preview 2 with 4aces kernel has been amazing for me.
running smartass v2 and sio, 384/1566
so smooth with incredible battery life
Jelly beer.......and flapps 3.0.3 kernel unreal stable

JellyBeer + flapp's 3.0.3, OC'd & UV'd with Wheatley and deadline. Although, to be fair, I did try Jamie's and had no problems with it. I was just extremely gunshy of JB after so many RRs during calls back in Sept/Oct when I last gave it a shot.
I'm trying 4.2.2 with 3.0.4kernel now and it seems stable .

Well I bought a Nexus 4 because I never had luck with AOSP on my note.

Hi guys! Just wanted to post this little thread to get some discussion around here. Just post what rom you use as a dd, and why you think it's the best! I'm using CM9 at the moment, and it's been pretty good so far

I'm using fourth bar jellybean 3.2 ROM. It's probably the closest thing I've used to ASOP. hopefully cm9/10 gets up and running soon! I'm itching for some real ASOP.

ARHD 3.0.1 w/ Faux's kernel. I can't keep up to date with all of his damn kernels lol. Need data and bluetooth to work before I use CM.
Used cm9 for a little bit but it isn't stable enough for me, also needs gapps preinstalled to prevent play store issues (those issues don't always happen) so back to super sayain 3 untill I finish up speed rom 7 or cm9 gets data going

+1 I do expect Sense 4 with data.
Fourth Bar Jellybean. Its basically AOSP with the option of having sense apps mixed in. Its win win in my books.
Speedrom! I can't wait for version 7! Although, as soon as sportstar gets data working on CM9, that will be my daily.
Fourth Bar, I'm loving it so far. Enough that it lured me away from speed rom. That rom just never played right with my phone.

You mean what ROM we are running?
I'm using (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ at the moment, it's been working pretty solid for me.
You really can't go wrong trying out the various latest builds, Gray's is pure CM9 with no tweaks added, the rest have various things added/modified/removed.
Best way is to try them out, as everyone is going to have different opinions.
The builds are all pretty much the same, just small tweaks here and there, but Snuzzo's kernel is a beast, so Rage is the winner for me at the moment.
Rage all the way
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app
Neo's Rage is awesome the inverted gapps are sick.
I prefer plain CM9, so I'm using Gray's ROM. Replaced the kernel with the Super Charge kernel though
Maybe this is a good place to ask: I'm running Gray's 9/21 CM9 build, does Snuzzo's kernel work with it? I'd like to give that Wheatley governor a try.
Which phone are we talking about here? Cm9 and kernels aren't universal right? Still learning.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
You are asking a question where there is no right answer. And it has been asked before MANY MANY times by others.
All answers will be subjective, and the only right answer is for you to try each of them. Maybe start with TW-based ICS roms, because they are most stable and close to stock experience. Once you know what you like and what you don't like, then, try some JB roms and others for different flavors. You can tell which ones are popular by the number of posts on the thread.
I am on Nebula (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963437&highlight=nebula).
I started with PA for awhile, and loved the custom DPI option. It was awesome. But started to miss S-Note/S-Memo. The alternate apps and pen gesture worked, but they weren't the same.
So, I went to Padawan V5. It was very good, with all the stock features. But, there were some AT&T stuff popping up in contacts which was annoying.
Then I went to Nebula, basically the same as Padawan, but based on Canadian ICS rom. Everything works, no bloat.
I have been thinking about going to Padawan V8, but now that my fiance has Note2, we use NFC, so I decided not to.

It's also extremely stable, I'm still on update 11 but i have a 9 day and 19 hour uptime and still counting. the longest I've had since I was running stock. Hopefully FJ will be back when JB hits for the i717 I love his roms.

LK Kernel is the most "stable" kernel. Originally, you asked for the best kernel for "battery saving" ... LK's kernel meets that requirement.
But if you want the ability to OC, you can try the Cubed kernel from DSB. But that is not going to be as stable right now, because it had a lot more features to it.

I'm using LK's kernel and I've noticed my standby battery time has increased by at least 40%. I can't say how much it helps with heavy usage. If you're looking for overclocking, tons of governors, voltage settings, etc. I would wait for DSB to finish his new Cubed remake.
