Battery life is excellent (all-day; I charge at night so I haven't seen it go any longer)
CM10.1 runs stable -- I've had days of uptime and no crashes.

I recommend baked or super nexus both in dev section. And my unofficial semaphore with customers features kernel

It's a little lower than the most ROMs but it can hold 2-3 days, depends how you use it. And i can't relly tell you cuz i am using my phone A LOT (games, testing apps, wi-fi) so its always on performance 787Mhz and for me at the end of the day its like on 20-30%
best
CYANOGEN MOD 9 it actually makes my friends jealous
Perfectpeso 2.2 because its rly very fast and smoth.
LEWA, cuz I don't really care about performance. Only looks is what matters to me. I tried to go to other rom after using it but all other ROMs looks kinda not so good. Tried using cm9 but waiting for stable version. And waiting a battery fix for MIUI also.

Oxygen 2.6 and #void forever. Yes, #void it might be old, but is great.
Both ROMS are fast and almost bugfree.
Also, I like OpenOptimus, not so fast, but very stable and without bugs at all.

LeWa is just awesome...but hey, it isn't that bad in performance...its one of the smoothest either... loves the battery
As my signature tells, I use N2 because camera is very important for me and N2 has no bugs

Kernels

So I just flashed team venom's latest rom and I'm having problems loosing data. Hoping changing the kernel will fix it. Any ideas on a good kernel? Thanks!
There are no custom kernels for ICS. Try reflashing the rom or try a different rom

This is not entirely true. I'm using this kernel and haven't had any data issues that I can tell. I've changed my radio to only take LTE/CDMA only since I get 4g all the time, but havnt seen any drops.

Meh, battery life is for razor maxx users. I like performance. there's another kernel over in the mikmik forums (or maybe it was the BAMF forums now that I think about it) but it didn't work on ics sense 4, didn't try it on a sense 3.6 ics...although I'm sure it wouldn't make a difference. Theres nowhere that I've seen in the post where it says what its for. My guess is GB roms though.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2
Yeah probably GB. HTC hasn't released source for ics, so making custom kernels is really difficult and almost impossible to get stable so that's why there are no custom kernels for ics

I believe we can flash custom kernels with S-ON just not in recovery, we'll have to use fastboot (which really isn't a big deal).

isn't the DNA already doing a great job of managing things? Curious to see if the great xda devs can improve it further.
I have made a few attempts to build a kernel tonight, all build fine, but none boot.
I tested the one posted by Zarboz, it does not boot either.
I MSGd HTC to see if the code was bad.
Waiting to hear back.

LK Kernel is the most "stable" kernel. Originally, you asked for the best kernel for "battery saving" ... LK's kernel meets that requirement.
But if you want the ability to OC, you can try the Cubed kernel from DSB. But that is not going to be as stable right now, because it had a lot more features to it.

had my fun, going back to stock. Cubed is excellent but i cant have a SoD while im at work our out and about. I'll still be flashing for dsb to help him bug swat.
I'm using LK's kernel and I've noticed my standby battery time has increased by at least 40%. I can't say how much it helps with heavy usage. If you're looking for overclocking, tons of governors, voltage settings, etc. I would wait for DSB to finish his new Cubed remake.

4.2.1 Success.

Just for the shiz and giggles, I was wondering which 4.2.1 Rom have you guys had the most success with? Flappjaxxx's (available on his goo.im for the uninformed), Manels Jellybeer, or JamieD81
s preview build?
Also, would love to know what Governors you guys are running, and if your using Flapps 4.2.1 kernels. (He's been uploading new ones almost daily.)
I personally am using Manels Jellybeer at the moment with Flapps Alt kernel (I'm one of the unlucky ones with tricky capacitive buttons) , I love the DPI groupings, although I have tried Jamie's build and loved it as well. Probably gonna try Flapps latest Beta 4 out tonight and give it for a spin for a few days. Let me know something guys:good: and keep supporting our devs, would love to keep all three of them up and running for us, so don't be afraid to flash that i717 to death with all the new builds (not literally to death)
Jamie's preview 2 with 4aces kernel has been amazing for me.
running smartass v2 and sio, 384/1566
so smooth with incredible battery life
Jelly beer.......and flapps 3.0.3 kernel unreal stable
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
JellyBeer + flapp's 3.0.3, OC'd & UV'd with Wheatley and deadline. Although, to be fair, I did try Jamie's and had no problems with it. I was just extremely gunshy of JB after so many RRs during calls back in Sept/Oct when I last gave it a shot.
I'm trying 4.2.2 with 3.0.4kernel now and it seems stable .
