unable to flash hardspl or any rom - get [00068002] on SD flash, error 262 on RUU

I'm new to the whole Hermes upgrading scene - but have read just about every forum thread and post on upgrading. I'm trying to follow this process:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=312943&highlight=vista
I chose to upgrade via SD card, since my windows box is a vista machine and I primarily use my mac day to day. Here's the problem I'm having - when I try to flash HardSPL V7 via the SD card (using the filename hermimg.nbh in the root of the SD card), it starts to say "loading" in bootloader mode, but then flashes up "00068002" in red at the top of the screen, and then continues into normal 3 color bootloader mode.
When I try to do the flash from vista with RUU (after following the guides showing how to downgrade to the XP drivers), I get a 262 error, and when I look in RUU.log, I see the following:
00:24:27:674 [msg] : Version : [5.10 - 20060412].

Notice the line "00:24:51:310 [err] : Receive Data Error : 0x713, 0x00068002." - that 00068002 is the same number that pops up when trying to flash from the SD card.
Same exact thing happens when I try to flash anything else (like a radio rom, or an OS rom).
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
PS: my TyTN shows as a HERM200, IPL 1.00, SPL 1.04
Did you format your SD Card in Fat32?
The most common problem when flashing from card is a wrong formated card.
yes, i formatted it Fat32 and also did a chkdsk on it.
Did someone get the solution for this?
Why you people do not search before making posts?????!!!!!!
Here is what u asking for :
1. Format your SD card with FAT32.
2. Download Hermes SIM CID Unlock v3a.
3. Copy SSPL-HERM to your SD card.
4. Extract the RUU_HERM_Unlock_v3a.
5. copy HermesUnlocker_HardSPL.nbh to SD card.
6. Rename it to HERMIMG.nbh.
7. put the SD card into the device and run sspl.exe.
8. the device enters the bootloader and ...
I have problem flashing using Sandisk 1GB, formatted FAT32, .nbh in place, after tri color bootloader nothing happen, no 'Loading'. Anybody experience this problem?
When I use micro SD 256 MB (from Nokia), no problem at all, flashing process Completed.
Is SD capacity (too big) become an issue or is this bad SD card..?
some sd cards cant be used to flash roms, i dont know why, maybe someone else can explain why
argupas, did you rename the .nbh file to "hermimg.nbh? It MUST be renamed to this for sd method to work. cheers.....

I already rename .nbh to HERMIMG.nbh.
I think it was SD card problem (1 GB Sandisk, I suspect a fake one), because I am now using 512 MB V-gen, no problem for flashing.
Thx.

I dont understand 7th step. Now my device hang in "Windows Mobile" screen, so how can I run sspl.exe. And also if enter the bootloader, I can press Power+OK+soft reset. Is this right for enter bootloader or i must run sspl.exe?
you have to run SSPL.exe from the file explorer. It has to be run from the PHONE memory, NOT the sd card.
Try a hard reset, both soft keys and reset with stylus. Hold all buttons until it asks if you wish to reset to factory (or something like that, you get the idea). Push "r" on slideout keyboard then "space"key. you now have to go through the alignment and everything again.
Even if you use this method, make sure you install Hard SPL V7. It is safer than anything else. You should also have checked what radio rom you were using as it has now been downgraded to 1.116.x.x, this may cause you some trouble later too.
Use the sd card method to fix this as it appears safer than using the pc. Just make sure you have got Hard SPL installed and have a charged battery. DON'T just think you can put it on the charger while flashing AS IT DOESN'T CHARGE...
Cheers...
Sorry to replay this thread but i had a situation like that.
I have a Hermes, with the pin of the USB that makes connection to PC broken... So my only Shot to update the ppc is from SD. The rom i have is one of 1st realeses of hermes wm6.5, so that stucks all the time, even i hard reset it...
When i try to update something from SD i cant because gives me that error 000602... Any idea? So i have to unlock the cid, but if i cant access to the windows what i must do?
If i hard reset it, it enter in windows, but 2 ou 3 seconds that stuck :S
If you can't get into windows to run SSPL.exe to install Hard SPL & your USB is stuffed so you can't connect to PC then you have a brick... If you had Hard SPL installed 1st then you wouldn't be in this situation.
Sorry, you have a brick unless you fix the USB connector.

First off, reflash your device with your phones original carriers ROM. Your phone will accept it. It sounds like you didn't SUPERCID your phone first, and didn't HARDSPL your phone.
Make sure you HARDSPL then SUPERCID your phone FIRST!
Download your phone's original carriers ROM and flash that via SD card to your device. That should return it back to "factory" state, and get it so that you can once again try to HARDSPL and SUPERCID your phone.
Hope this helps,
Cheers
Supercid then Hard SPL... If you run the V3a unlocker it flashes your SPL to 1.40... Hard SPl V7 is the latest and greatest. Technically you shouldn't need to supercid your Hermes after Hard SPLing it.
Hi
your instruction are really complete and clear but . . .
but my TyTn to day has a problem (better I have a problem!!)
After breaking the flash of a new ROM (it was corrupted) it either stays in bootloader mode (IPL 1.01 SPL 2.03) or,after few seconds from booting and displaying all data like
M 05 R 1.56.70.11
S 04 G 32.89.7020.20H
B 06 D 3.57
turns the display full white, make a "ding" and never enter into W.M. 6.5. Hence, how can I launch HERMES-SPL.exe ???
Other attempts to flash from PC through:
- RUUWrapper provide up-date error for missed USB connection
- <ROM>. exe the flash starts but stops after few second when the status bar, on the PDA reach 1%.
So, it became a brick?? There is any chance to retrive it?

Hey bud, if you hold the POWER BUTTON and the CAMERA button down and hit the RESET button, do you get a tricolour screen?
If so, then your phone is not bricked, just has a failed ROM on it.
You can flash via SD card onto your phone, and to do so, download the rom for your network, the one that originally came with your phone, onto your phone. when you put it on the SD card, make sure you name it HERMIMG.nbh. This'll allow you to flash via SD. put the card in, reset to the tricolour screen, and then follow the instructions for flashing.
Once this is done, you can then attempt again to SuperCID your phone.
Cheers!

[GUIDE] Step-by-step instructions for debranding and HSPL for AT&T Titans

ATTENTION: Due to the lack of time, to which I sincerely apologize for, I am no longer able to maintain this guide. Also, I am no longer answering PMs in reference to help with this guide. I apologize, but life's a little hectic for me at the moment. Thank you all that have read my guide and if you would like to take over for this guide and update it, please PM me. Thank you!!
Hello everyone! Figured I'd put together a step-by-step guide for those trying to figure out how to install HSPL and roms onto their AT&T branded HTC Titans.
************STOP AND PLEASE READ BEFORE PROCEEDING************
You are currently required to debrand your phone. DO NOT continue further with this guide if you do not wish to remove your AT&T branding.
This guide is NOT for the HTC Titan II. There is currently, to my knowledge, no way in being able to install HSPL on the Titan II as of this time. So please, do not even attempt to go through with this guide with your Titan II. Not only will it not work, but you never know if doing so will damage your phone.
***For the record, you CANNOT hold me nor those credited below responsible for any mishaps and/or catastrophic failures with your phone. Not even when T-800s start to emerge from your phone! You are following this guide at your own free will and discretion, and as such, it is your own responsibility if you break your phone. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE: read this guide slowly and carefully. Read it through several times, just so you are absolutely sure you understand the instructions. If you feel as though you're not entirely sure what to do on this guide, DO NOT PROCEED FURTHER. Instead, you may post your question down below and I'll try to answer it as best as I can. But I cannot guarantee you an answer nor any help in general. You have been warned.***
************Continuing with this guide means you've understood the warnings and accept all responsibility for your actions************
Pre-installation notes: Due to how the process is still somewhat finicky at best, this guide is NOT guaranteed to work. Also, you have no choice at this time besides having to make a goldcard. There's just no other way.
Also, as listed in DFT's thread: Only Titan phones that have the following MIDs will work: " 'PI39****", 'PI391100', "PI391000' " Also, they've posted an issue about not updating to 4.xx.xxxx.xx roms, as there is an issue with this. Please thoroughly read the thread before proceeding: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1684912
However, if you do follow the guide properly and with a little lady luck on your side, this guide should help you debrand your Titan, as well as install HSPL on it. If I am missing anything about this guide, please inform as soon as possible, as so I can update this guide accordingly and credit you.
Also, for those looking for a more visual aid, please view Budniu's video on downgrading SPL's and using the goldcard method down below past the written instructions. If they helped you, please thank him!!
Requirements:
Hardware:
-Y-USB cable. I actually made my own easily. I'll post pictures in the following post on how to make your own without soldering.
-1 or 2 gb SD or microSD card. To my experience and knowledge, SDHC and SDXC cards DO NOT work. I wasted money figuring that out the hard way. The way it worked for me was with a 2gb microSD card from Sony that came with the SD card adapter.
-SD card reader, preferably a single-SD card port on it. In my experience, I tried two multi-card readers with no avail. I purchased a regular SD card reader and it worked wonders.
-Optional: Flash drive*
*This is optional, due to the fact that I never had any luck in using a flash drive as my gold card. It may or may not work for you, but the chances of it not working are higher than getting an SD card that won't work. At least, that's just how my experience with this went.
Software (links provided below):
-HTC Eternity EU official rom 1.09.401.02, link will be provided once upload is complete. File size is 410 mb, so be forewarned.
-Goldcard maker
-Goldcard image
-DFT's HSPL
-Optional: HTC Eternity Cingular rom & RUU*
*There is a possibility trying to debrand the phone without downgrading your SPL first may or may not work. When in doubt, it would be better to first flash this image first on your phone before proceeding any further. If your SPL is 1.10.xxxx.xx or lower, you may skip this process.
UPDATE: As found by XDA member Prerna, you do not need to downgrade with a stock Cingular rom prior to flashing a stock Euro rom. Thank you!
UPDATE #2According to both members from different threads, as well as those that have contacted me about this, you are no longer able to download the European rom from its original location. I have thus uploaded it via DropBox, and a link to the download has been provided below. Thank you for notifying me!
*Update*: I forgot to add this, which may account to the gold-card method not working out for you, but you must change the name of the rom you are putting on the SD card BEFORE you make it a goldcard to "ETERIMG.nbh". Otherwise, the phone will most likely not be able to read the .nbh file. Sorry for this!!
Instructions for debranding:
I. Backup anything you don't want to lose from your phone. This process will delete everything.
II. Step Two has been removed as it is now a unnecessary step in this process as noted above.
III. Create your goldcard and debrand your phone:
Note: As mentioned by Prerna, he noted that a manual reboot after using the goldcard method was required. In my case, my phone rebooted on its own; perhaps this may have been just a fluke, I'm not entirely sure. However, based on how sure he was about this, I would then like to add that it is more than likely that you are required to reboot the phone from USB host mode manually to the SPL screen after flashing.
i. Insert your SD card into your card reader and plug into your computer. If you're using a flash drive, just follow this guide the same way.
[*]ii. Once your memory shows up completely, go to "My Computer", right click on where your SD will be shown, and click on "format". Make sure that under "File System" says "FAT32" and under"Allocation unit size" is "4096". IT CANNOT BE ANYTHING ELSE. Whether or not these settings were enabled, select "Start", only if "Quick Format" is selected. Once it completes formatting, time to find your downloaded goldcard maker.
[*]iii. Open up the goldcard maker by right-click, select "Run as Administrator". When it opens, make sure your SD card appears in the drop-down box next to "HTC MMC:".
[*]iv. Ignoring the top portion with the CID options, go down to where it says "Load GoldCard.img". Wherever you downloaded the goldcard image, select it and click "open".
[*]v. Click on "Patch MMC" and wait for it to complete. The debug log window will let you know whether or not your card was successfully completed.
[*]vi. Once you successfully made your goldcard, you will then drag and drop the .nbh image file into the SD card. Once completed, safely eject your SD card and reader.
[*]vii. Next, plug the reader with the card into one of the female ends of your y-cable (assuming you either purchased one with a female end on it or you followed my guide below). With the power-only male end of your cable, plug that either into a wall charger or into your pc (preferably a back port if on a desktop).
[*]viii. Next, you want to power off your phone, give it a kiss, and boot it into USB-Host mode. The way I did this was while holding the Volume-Down button and the Camera button, I plugged my micro-usb end into the phone, while the micro-usb cord was plug into my y-usb cable. This will make the phone boot on its own and into USB-Host mode.
[*]ix. If you did the following correctly, your phone will display "Entering USB-Host mode..." momentarily, before switching to a "loading" screen. You should hopefully then see the phone reading the image file on the SD card and performing the debranding. Your phone will reboot one or two times back into USB mode.
[*]x. If the debranding was a success, your phone *will reboot back into SPL mode with the update rom version*. In my case, I rebooted my phone back to normal instead. If the startup screen says "HTC X310e", then the debranding is a success.
*As mentioned above, it is more than likely that the phone WILL NOT reboot back to SPL mode on its own. In my experience, it did. Either way, if your phone does not reboot back into SPL mode on its own, then simply reboot the phone back into SPL mode via Volume UP+DOWN+Power button.
IV. Goldcard part II:
i. After confirming that you DO now have an unbranded Titan, you will now proceed to redoing the gold card method once more. This time, however, you need to delete the .nbh image you placed on your card and place the one that can be found in the DFT .rar you downloaded earlier. To find it, simply extract the contents, navigate through >DFT_HSPL_WP7SG1>1_SPL205>TITAN>ETERIMG.nbh.
[*]ii. Select this file and place it onto your goldcard (assuming you plugged it back into your computer properly (not attached to the y-cable) and deleted the previous ETERIMG.nbh file on it.
[*]iii. Once it's on the SD card, remove it once again and follow steps "vi." through "viii." of the steps for the goldcard instructions, disregarding anything about it being debranded. This is only an upgrade flash.
[*]iv. Once it reboots properly back into the SPL screen on its own**, make sure that the rom version has been updated to 2.5.xxxx.xx. If not, you may have done something wrong, and if you're able to, redo the process more carefully.
**Again, as mentioned above, I've been told that this isn't entirely true. It's more than likely that the phone will not reboot back into SPL mode after flashing. If it hasn't, manually reboot into SPL mode. I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
V. HSPL
i. Once confirming you have 2.5.xxxx.xx on your SPL screen, you will now proceed to the final part: enabling HSPL. What you will need to do is navigate once more into "DFT_HSPL_WP7SG1" (the .rar file you downloaded from DFT), and go here: >DFT_HSPL_WP7SG1>2_HSPL>DFT_HSPL_WP7SG1_INSTALL.exe. Open the executable and properly read the instructions.
ii. Enter SPL once more on your phone and plug it into your computer, making sure that it says "usb" in black letters towards the bottom portion of the screen.
iii. Click next on the program and read careful about what requirements you will need on the computer. Typically, it should all be there, but it never hurts to make sure.
iv. Take a deep breath and click next. It will attempt to connect to the phone. If it succeeds, continue reading the instructions the program will display. If it does not work, recheck your wire connection and that you have spl 2.5.xxxx.xx on your device, and that it is in SPL mode.
v. Make sure you select the rom version that you have (it should be the only selection there, but just make sure it is before continuing). Select next once you've made your selection.
vi. It will install HSPL. Once completed, the phone may reboot itself back into SPL mode. If it has succeeded, underneath where it shows your rom version, it will either have "DFT" or "CotullaH" written there. Mine says "CotullaH".
VI. Finished!

Post-installation notes: As stated above, this is NOT guaranteed to work. It had happened to work out for me quite well and figured that perhaps this may work for others as well.
Thanks notes: As I've been here for about a year or two but haven't really posted much, I don't entirely care whether or not I receive any thanks. Yeah I should have made a note about that as well. However, when I attempted to use a flash drive, it had never worked for me. I must've tried 8-10 old 1gb-2gb drives, no avail.

I'm going to guess what happened, since it's somewhat difficult understanding your writing, but I have a feeling you might have done something wrong and semi-bricked your phone. If you can only see the first two lines when going into SPL mode, I'm pretty sure you bricked it. At this point, you might be able to try to downgrade to a stock Euro rom, but I cannot say that it'll definitely fix it =/ sorry.
Does anyone know if this will work for Titan II also?
Thanks
Ugh none of my flash drive or card reader works. Can anyone who successfully debranded their HTC titan recommend me something?

It might pay to re-look at the steps you did to make your gold card before trying different sd cards. First, is the timing of copying ETERIMG.nbh file- original instruction of making gold card from MaryFetus is to copy first the .nbh file into the msd card then run gold card tool to patch the card. Or try running the gold card tool first and once this is completed then copy ETERIMG.nbh file into the msd card (goldcard). The latter step works for me recently to get rid of F400. See if this works for you. Goodluck.

no avail. I might try Kingston data traveler or SanDisk cruzer where people reported success. If anyone else like to chime in and add working flash drive or reader help yourself

Could my Y-Cable I purchased from Ebay be faulty?
When I connect my Y cable to computer, one cable reads my Flash Drive fine, however, if I connect to the other cable (using usb gender converter) the Flash Drive lights up but it isn't read by my computer (just powers on)
Is this normal?

by the way, could it be because the battery wasn't fully charged? My phone is pretty much unusable right know, and its plugged into the wall, but the bootloader screen stays on.
You do realize there's a thread were you can ask these type of questions correct?
And if only you would of goggled "ControlBear tool Errorcode: 66732337" you would of gotten your answer. HOW COOL IS THAT?
Sorry to be a ***** and i apologize.
But in the nice side of me. You got that error because you didn't do the wire trick correctly. As in you didn't type it right,.
Just keep trying until it says success.
thanks, but what do you mean by "i didn't type it right", and that "i did the wire trick wrong". Can you please explain how i am supposed to do those steps correctly?

For the "I didn't type it right" part it was suppose to say you didn't do it right.
And with the wire trick. Look it up on YouTube. And you'll see how its done. Doesn't matter if its not the same phone the wire trick is done the same way. Just make sure you put your wire in the right pin.
If you have no idea what in talking about go look at the s-off thread for instruactions.

Follow these instructions and then when your done click evo3d cdma on the bottom for the instructions on how to do the wire trick correct. Remember to get the trick right you have to tap both wires down and lift the one connected to the memory card casing for almost 2 seconds and then re tap it and keep it pressed till the phone reboots.
http://unlimited.io/juopunutbear-public-beta-0-1/instructions/
Here is a video from youtube that will guide you through all the steps.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRj47iFQvbE
If you see the following message from ControlBear after doing the wire trick:
ErrorMsg: Still sober.
This means that you have been unsuccessful in implementing the wire-trick. Run ControlBear again.
The usual cause for this is that you failed to perform 2 clean contacts or mis-timed the wire trick.
Also remember to get an insulated wire I used scotch tape on a small paper clip and it worked perfectly

I hope that's enough data.
To sum up it is locked with S-ON. Selecting recovery/factory reset reboots it in 1 sec to bootloader. Phone does respond to some fastboot commands, most useful was fastboot oem rebootRUU that takes me to a black screen with an HTC logo and if I disconnect a usb cable I'm stack in bootloader like menu with the only choice 'RUU' that is not click able at all. I have tried enormous number of .img files through fastboot flash (loads, throws: remote: signature verify fail) and using an sd card(loads, verifies, goes back to main menu). I'm in process of trying out RUU exe files from website url androidruu with provider shooter (I can't post urls) First run I thought was going to be a success, it found the phone said that the current version is something like &20, started doing something - restarted the phone and phone got stuck at black screen when the program exited with code 155, while waiting for the phone to get to bootloader I assume. Please your suggestions, maybe deeper knowledge of fastboot protocols would help. Device is not showing up under adb. I was trying all of that using windowsXP/ubuntu computer. please help reinstalling, reviving, flashing this half alive HTC EVO 3D. I believe it is called roger as well. And I assume the previous owner is an idiot.
Some more to say
Ive spent 24 hours with google, HTC EVO 3D (GSM i believe), usb cable and an SD card, i'm lost and despair.
first of all make sure your bootloader is locked .you can lock it via fastboot : Type the following in the command prompt window:
fastboot devices
This is to ensure that your device is detected, if nothing appears on screen with this command, then it means you don’t have the proper drivers installed on your PC. And if that’s the case you should download and install/re-install the HTC Sync software given in Step 1.1Now type the following command to re-lock your HTC bootloader
fastboot oem lock then download and run this and follow the instructions http://www.androidruu.com/getdownlo...00U_11.25.3504.06_M_release_262714_signed.exe
