Hi,
I've recently accuired the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus (GT-i9105P) and I've been looking everywhere for a tutorial on how to root my device, but I've found nothing, mainly because I keep getting tutorial on other models similiar to the Samsung Galaxy S2. So my question is, how do I root the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus?
Thanks in advance!
We got no idea
You are the first mebmer to ask that.
If it's no big deal, how much did you pay for it?

I think about 320 euro, I still remember that it was cheaper than the S2. But I have no idea on how to root it, so here I am. :silly:

Yeah, is cheaper. Here they sell it for around 640 dollars.
It's too soon for that device, you might have to wait a couple of more weeks to get some intel regarding that matter.

Don't flash anything that isn't intended specificly for your S2 plus.

It might potentially be useful to look at attempts to root the Galaxy Grand (e.g. at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2134216) - that's based on the same Broadcom SoC as the S2 Plus so the software is pretty similar. I think they're not identical enough to flash files designed for one onto the other, but the steps to root it should be the same.

I know the steps already, but the only problem is the firmware. It has been a few week, but no rooted firmware has been released for the Samsung galaxy s II plus (I9105p)
Root is now possible on the Galaxy S2 Plus thanks to chotu222.

I think watsa was pointing out this is the international S3 forum... ... so none of us need to figure anything out. Our ROMs work with our phone by default
You'd prob get a better and more accurate answer asking in the US variant forum to see if anybody over there has been successful

Hi All
New to this forum and recently got a SG S2. I have read numerous times about eople rooting and unlocking thier mobile phones so that they can remove all the bloated rubbish you get with your phone. I have no idea how to root/unlock my phone, nor how the process really works. I dont want a scientific explanation of how rooting and unlocking works, just a simple terms and then a guide on how to do it on my GT-I9100 please?
I would like to downclock my S2 also whilst idle so as to preserve battery, can this be done?
thanks guys

Everything you have asked is written in this forum, how do you think we know it. Please read the sticky threads its loads more convenient than typing it all out on a phone screen over and over again. That's why they are permanently stuck to top of screen. I'm new too with no background in this stuff, I did it, so I'm sure you can to. All the best my friend.

Here is the situation my friend found what looks to be a AT&T Galaxy S2, but it had multiple locks on it. So i told him I could root it, do a factory wipe and it will be good as new. Easy right? Well it wasn't.
So I started by downloading the tar for the AT&T Galaxy S2 rooted it everything fine and did a factory wipe, but there still was a lock on the phone.
So I tried redoing the root and it bricked its self. But right before it bricked itself I saw GT-I9100. I decided then to just got to GalaxyS2Root.com and find the right .tar, then I rerooted it, did another factory wipe, and it worked. BUT WAIT only 4 buttons work.
Volume- works fine
Lock- works fine
Menu- works fine
Home- thinks it back
Back- doesn't work
Search- doesn't work
Recovery mode- Volume Up+Lock
Download mode- Volume Down+Lock
This layout is similar to the Galaxy S3.
So if you are lost let me sum it up. I have what looks like a AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777, that thinks it is Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 and has a button layout similar to the Galaxy S III.
P.S. I also need a free way to change the sim from at&t to t mobile
P.S.S. I AM A NOOB AND I AM PROUD
P.S.S.S. Sorry i couldn't post my pics the site wouldn't let me

I am not ignorant I listened to that video. I search for other post that might deal with my problem and tried posting in the phones forum but the site wouldn't let me. Yes I know ask for help on the the sim unlocker was lazy but i wanted a free way to do it so my friend doesn't have to spend any money and so I don't have to leave it rooted and let him mess his phone up. I normally don't answer this kind of question/challenge but since you're newbie which I was once, I said this
GT-I9100 is the S2, not S3 hence I could care less about the GSG3.
Now if you want to talk about the S2 and its variants then the difference is googling the 2 models, search for images, put them side by side and play the "find the 7-point difference" game.
You downloaded a tar file and flashed it for the i9100. Which is the international version of the galaxy s2. The phone you have is the i777 galaxy s 2. So at least you're in the right place . Look at the member creepyncrawly's profile he had links to everything you need.
How about I reword the question: how do I get my GT-I9100 to match an AT&T galaxy s2 interface

Then you need to ask Samsung or at least give us the full specifications .Or try a Tizen forum .
If you want to flash IT then you flash stock roms via Odin .
But a big guess is you will brick the phone to a non fixable state .

I want to ask something that may sound offensive, but is not intended to be..
How do people who don't have any technical knowledge get these test phones? Are you part of a test program, or have you just purchased them somewhere?
If it's the former, how do you get on the test panel?
Also, how does Tizen run? You have a test o/s and are presumably meant to test it.. why on earth would you want to install Android? Surely you have your own daily phone as well as these test models?
I (Polv89 is by brother) have 2 Tizen test phone, so I would like to flash Android on one of it and compare them! This is the reason
