Greetings all, I have an Xperia Neo on which I installed CM9 custom rom and used it for 2-3 days which gave me awesome performance over stock rom but features like bravia, xloud, camera quality, gesture keyboard input etc missing.. so thought to install some other rom and I found Xperia Pureness much satisfying rom
Now my question is, how to install Xperia Pureness rom over CM9? What's the procedure? because when I googled, I found nothing.
Just too scared as I do not wanna brick my phone or wanna face general problems as other guys have faced like bootloop etc.
Please help. Thanks in advance buddies
Just flash the night elf kernel as recommended by the developer of the ROM!
And install the ROM..
Don't forget to do a clean wipe..
Factory reset, wipe cache partition, wipe dalvik cache.

flashing kernel and ROM are two diff things?
I didn't get you. Can you tell me with CWM way? like what I understand is I need to boot into CWM and from that I should flash two files which are build_11 and patch.. that's it.. is it like that way only over CM9?
thanks for ur response buddy
1.Factory reset in cwm
2.wipe cache partition
3.wipe dalvik cache
4.Format /system (in mounts and storage)
5.Format /cache
6.Format /Data
7.Install Xperia_Ice_Cream_Pureness_build_10.00.zip
8.Install patch for your phone model
9.Reboot now and you are done !
Hit thnx if i helped you.....

mate, I could read above info provided by owner and I got it easily. This instructions don't tell about kernel installation step and also one should install kernel before or later after ROM installation and etc. these were my doubts. Anyways, I installed Alliance kernel first by fastboot command as my phone is unlocked and then installed xperia pureness rom
currently, i am testing it.. first thing I opened camera and found camera sucks it seems it is not 8 MP camera but 3 MP camera image quality is not satisfying.. so nothing beat Stock Rom camera and image quality.. (CM9 and xperia pureness, i have tested so far)
I like the touch buttons for home, back and menu key on the home screen those buttons make operating phone with one hand at ease Super..
wanna test sound, but where is music player? duh.. :/
Yeah, the music player is missing! The developer has given this as an add on..
Here's the link for the Walkman music player..

Do full wipe [Factory reset, cache partition, dalvik cache]
In mounts and storage format /system, /data, /cache
Flash BASE ROM
Flash gapps
Reboot
I think u need a supported kernel for that....
try this FXP 138
Vineet Patel
Neo V
UL Bootloder

Yes it is necessary to do all the steps!
CM9 is based on ICS and CM10 is JB based.. So that means they are different ROMS..
Wiping everything is a safe option when switching one ROM to the other!

Original cm10? I think the nightlies (etc) on cyanogenmod site are the same because there are some fxp members in cm team. But yes, should work. But remember taking a backup before
Yes you can... You don't even need to wipe data/factory reset...
Just flash latest kernel (not necessary, optional) and then wipe cache and dalvik cache and flash the ROM.

Hi, im trying to install Jelly Dream in my Neo V, but the result its all time a bootloop.
I've done this:
-Stock Rom with SEUS
-Root
-CWM
-Wipe ALL (battery, cache, dalvik cache, system, format cache, format systerm...)
-Install zip from SD
-Install Jelly Dream 3.0, with all wipe options activated
-And bootloop in Sony logo's...
Anyone knows what i will do?
Thanks
better post this in jelly dream thread ... you have everything perfectly i don't know why it bootloops
It's look like kernel conflict.
But you try:
Boot to CWM and Select Factory Reset.
I cant post yet in Jelly Dream thread (Without 10 post cant post in developers threads)
Factory reset tried, with all possible wipes. I forgot to say that before.
And, a kernel conflict... its possible, but i have the default kernel, my neo v have locked bootloader, so i cant change the kernel. I have stok kernel...
use sticky thread if you unable to post on original thread post... there are so many sticky threads

After installing the zip ie the Rom,I hope you're not again doing the wipes especially system wipe
I'm saying cos your statement says you wiped everything and then again installed the Rom, then the wipes again!
Rest of your steps are perfect for a locked bootloader Rom

if you did the following I am not sure how to help:
format system, data, cache etc. (best I guess would be to do a mega wipe)
flash slim
without reboot flash slim gapps
wipe cache, dalvik (just to be sure)
fix permissions (normally not necessary)
reboot

yes, I do agree with @galaxys3lover. Automatic scripts are goods, but in this particular case a manual wipe was better.
i am a lill paranoic ... i do "erase everything" before install a new rom, and I try follow the developer instructions (if he say ... full wipe is the recommended ... yeah .. i will do ... if we will have fc or problems or strange things... no regrets ... lol)
@chrismast i was reading the slim rom thread and in instructions:
"From another JB or ICS Rom to SlimBean
Download device_x.x.zip, slim_gapps.zip.
Enter CWM, wipe data, format system ( in mounts and storage)
Flash Device_x.x.zip***, then MUST flash slim_gapps.zip (other files optional)
*** - If the flash is too quick ( < 5 seconds or so), reflash device before flashing common or other zip files."
*** i do really doesn't understand this 5 secs ... some other xda slim user could bring us a enlightment for this question. maybe a slim cm aosp based rom particular issue? i don't know
"Upgrading Slim Bean
Unless we specify otherwise in changelog
Reboot to recovery, wipe cache, dalvik cache then just flash your device zip."
and the 4.2.2 Build 6 ChangeLog
"Attention:
Due to the updated TRDS 2.0 code, you HAVE TO download and flash the new gapps packages this time."
references
http://slimroms.net/index.php/installation

maybe a "forget step"? or the problem was related to Boeffla Kernel
"Note: This kernel is only for Samsung based Jelly Bean (Android 4.1.x) roms!!! Do not install it on CM or AOSP based roms!!!
Also do NOT install it on any Samsung 4.2.x based Roms!!! You will just get a boot loop!!!" - a quote of @AndiP - red color is not mine ... lol

Not at all, i will share personal experience.
Few days ago... I flashed SlimRom and everything was OK, however, due to not reading and having an anxiety about having Boeffla, i flashed Boeffla from CWM and i get a Soft Brick but thank i had battery, i could revive via Back up and Restore (NAndroid).
Conclusion: Boeffla do not support AOSP nor AOKP
"would appreciate correct me if I am wrong, if not, also let me know" :good:
