I'm trying to install the MiniCM7 but I need to install the nAa kernel first, and the requeriment for the nAa kernel install is:
MiniCM7 or any recent gingerbread-based ROM
I'm still with:
Model number: E10a
Firmware version: 2.1-update1
Baseband version: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015
Kernel version: 2.6.29
Build number: 2.1.1.A.0.6
How can I install MiniCM7 if I'm still using 2.1.1.A.0.6? 2.1.1.A.0.6 is not gingerbread, right?
First at all watch this

MiniCM7 FAQ
First install kernel (your bootloader is unlocked, right?), then reboot in CWM, and install MiniCM7 ROM.

Thanks, tommy.
I installed the kernel and did a normal reboot, but I stay locked in a black screen, so I press home+power buttons, reboot in CWM, install mini and now everything is fine.

Hello jet0n,
first you should flash newest baseband .54 , wich baseband did you have ??
after that
you can install 2.2 Froyo from freeX10
Download it :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=900441
FreeX10-beta4.zip - fixed to work with baseband .54, xRecovery 0.3-unified, minor improvements
REQUIRES LATEST KERNEL AND BASEBAND 2.1.54 (shipped in stock 2.1.A.0.435 ROM)
gapps_FreeX10.zip - Google Apps (Market, Youtube etc.)
this rom is very stable ! You can also install cyanogen Mod (many extra features) under:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=940302
Try it...

If you want Beta 4, you must have latest baseband (2.1.A.0.435)
Go look in the dev section
After getting the latest base band you need to flash the Tom via xrecovery. To access x recovery you will have to press the back button repeatedly when you see the Sony erricson text displayed whole booting. From there go to install custom zip and then choose beta 4. Use your volume keys to navigate

it's for xrecovery.
btw, MiN-04 is released for cwm as edify.
Is there any way in which this stock ROM could be released for CWM as edify? It would help a lot.
Many thanks,
Emmet
There's a tool by pumakkiotto that can turns CWM to XREC flashed via CWM, just search for it yourself, he made the thread
i've added its edify version to the first post. but, i couldn't try it, unfortunately i don't have spare time on these days. if you try it, don't forget backing up your data and please write your experiences with it. i hope it works as expected.
I've downloaded, installed and tested the edify version. Works perfectly with no problems as far as I can see.
Many many thanks for this,
Emmet

these two roms are not identical. they should be the same as operating system but there're different applications. you can compare their apk files.
apparently hurikan23's rom comes from hungary, while mine is from turkey. it's not suprising that se chooses different apps for different countries.
so, i didn't remove anything from it. there's another thread for its clipped version called MiN, which is about 76mb in v5.

i don't know exactly but it seems more stable and faster, of course it's just an opinion. if you happy with your current 2.1.1.A.0.6 i think there's no need to upgrade; it can be installed when you need a clean starting.

I don't think so, don't worry. I believe you can flash the official rom via seus or pc companion.
have you checked your baseband version before flash it?

have you updated your phone via seus recently? it should update both baseband and version.
take a look to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1252225
yes i do it but i use french Orange operator so no new firmware...
so for upgrade my baseband i think i need to use flashtools and tft file ?
I'm attempting to install the new Zmod Cyanogenmod 7.1 but am encountering problems with xrecovery unable to read the SD/card when installing. Supposidly the new version of xrecovery will fix my issue but when I looked at the thread listed "2.3 STOCK ROM" as a requirement.
Now I cant update to the official 2.3.3 rom as im on O2UK, but I'm currently running Cyanogenmod 7.0.3 (on baseband 0.52) so will I still be ok to update to the new version of xrecovery?
Also just a quick question as its been a while since I installed a new rom, it's baseband first (any .71?). My phone will still be rooted, busybox still installed, etc, as I've done all this before? Then install new .zip via xrecovery?
(I've already read the newbie threads so please don't just point me there, simple yes/no answers will suffice. I'm just a little confused about going from custom install to custom install.)
edit: could this be a problem with going from a 0.52 baseband to a 1.71? This thread talks about 0.54 but could it be something simiar? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1053221
install xRecovery-0.3 (GBready) using flashtool
Here is the guide:

So install the zmod 7.1 .zip through my current version of xrecovery first, then use flashtool to upgrade the baseband to .71, root and then install the new xrecovery (as in the first reply)?

Well I installed xrecovery via the instructions on that link and my phone is now stuck on the SE loading screen. This is exactly what I wanted to avoid as my phone is not running stock 2.3.3. Can I have a fix please!
edit: Ok got it working by installing the .zip and flashing the .71 baseband. Thanks.
Hi,
I want to put the MiniCM7-2.1.9 on my X10 Mini Pro. At the moment I have Froyobread v023f installed
Baseband: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015
Kernel: 2.6.29 [email protected] #1
Do I HAVE to flash a new kernel (nAa)?
Where can I see that my Bootloader is unlocked?
Greets
You do need that kernel, the rom won't work without it.
Have a look in the Development section for SE Tweaker, that'll tell you if your phone is unlocked.
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
If you never installed a custom kernel, your bootloader is locked so you need to unlock it before installing the kernel.
Latest MiniCM versions (from 2.1.0) need nAa's custom kernel to work so you have to install it or install a previous release of the ROM (I'd suggest 2.0.5)
use this to unlock your bootloader and flash a the nAa kernel - easy and quick
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=986690
is it possible to flash the kernel after the rom? because I just did, and I got Sony Ericsson logo in screen.. can't install the kernel or go into recovery..

just joking. remember before installing a rom if the requirements says use this kernel then you should flash the kernel because it is required right? try going back to stock using pc companion or seus

As far as I know, MiniCM7 works only with his nAa kernel, so your bootloader has to be unlocked. MiniCM Pro by paul-xxx uses stock kernel or custom kernels (nAa kernel with that rom will give a wifi error).
To check if you bootloader is unlocked. Use S1Tool and check the loader version. If it's a lower cased 'r' then it's unlocked, if not there are many tutorials around here to help you unlock your bootloader. Hope this helps.
@Paddy3103
Go to the official page (link below)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1415026
It's got all the details that you'll need just make sure that you read every single line thoroughly.
If you make any mistakes than you can use sony ericsson update service to reset it back to the stock SE rom.
Btw I recommend that you use the flash tool to unlock bootloader and to check if its unlocked as Noobonic said use the SE1Tool.
For me I'd say that MiniCM7 is the best custom rom that exists right now but since we have to flash the nAa kernel it seems kind of risky at first but if you understand the steps and follow it properly than there's not much to worry about.
The other ROM's are also quite good but the MiniCM7 is the best and most stable custom ROM.
How do I check the requirements?

- Unlocked bootloader
- Latest version of the ICS nAa kernel
Thanks

for the first one: check settings - about phone, it will list the installed firmware version and baseband
for the second one: no phone comes with a bootloader unlocked, so if you haven't unlocked it yourself, that requires action on your part
for the third one: if the second one isn't done, you don't have the third one, you will have to flash that yourself after you've unlocked the bootloader
1. Its not an update, its a custom rom.
2. Baseband can be found under About Phone
If you don't know how to unlock boot loader and what NaA kernel is I highly suggest you read up a lot more before doing anything
If you dont chances are you'll get your phone screwed up.
There's a good guide in the X8 development section on unlocking bootloader by SpyderX.
