I am a GoPhone user. I just received my LG Optimus G in the mail today. I'm coming from a Galaxy SII Skyrocket (rooted). With the Skyrocket I was getting 10Mbps data. I had to go to AT&T and get a MicroSIM because the Skyrocket had a standard SIM. On the LG, I cannot get any kind of data signal. the LG is stock. Am I missing something?

Aww man ... I can't use 3G/2G either? Gosh-darn-it! I just called AT&T, and they said I can't port my number from GoPhone to AT&T contract services.
Both phone have the same stats. What gives? Why can I get 2G/3G on the SkyRocket but not on the Optimus?

I somehow figured out the MMS settings for my X10i when I bought it, but now I did the update to the latest firmware and cannot figure out the MMS settings on the $10 data plan on Tmobile USA, can someone check the settings they are using and help me? I'm going nuts over here.
The only thing you would need to change is in the main APN settings, under APN name replace "epc..... " with "internet2.voicestream.com"
There is no need to change anything in the MMS APN.

That's what i tried at first and it didn't work, but I will give it another go, thanks!
Im on AT&T and I had the same problem. Im sure its different between networks (worth a try), But basically I filled in all options in the APN settings. Try surfing the web to find a complete collection of settings.

You can also quite simply call t-mobile customer care and ask them.
They're usually very nice and helpful.
On my X10i its
epc.tmobile.com
and every thing else is left untouched.
But as you've got a $10 data plan, it could be different for you.
I'm also on a $10 data plan with T-Mobile and this is what I have;

Hey guys, I have an X10i and I'm with AT&T but I can only use the Edge network, I was wondering if there's an extra setting for the MMS because I can't send or receive MMS. Thanks~
I am only getting EDGE speed with T-mobile but was getting 3G with AT&T. I just have the "epc." setting in my APN.

Do you receive clear pictures in your text messaging. Like when someone send you a picture in text does it look clear on your x10.
I tried to post a thread asking for help regarding this and no one respond. Dont know why.

I have 2 vibrants that I have running Nero v5, tonight one of them stopped getting data signal. Could not access internet but could make calls and text. I could not figure it out so I called t-mobile to see if they had some tips for me. We went thru some trouble shooting and tried putting my sim card into the other phone that was working fine. Now neither one will get a data connection. I have full service but no data. Use packet data and data roaming are checked. APN is t-mobile US epc.tmobile.com. Can someone please help me?
Where do you live, because I suddenly dropped data too. I'm in MPLS, MN
I am in Oklahoma City, OK. One of my phone was working fine but the other was not. Then when I switched sim card to the other phone now it wont get the connection either, even after I switched the sim cards back to original phone now they both don't get data
dallas, tx same thing just happened to me.......
Yeah I just checked my gf's Optimus T and her data is working fine. No idea.

Well id try flashing the new modem. Search the dev forum for the ka6 modem and flash it via cwm like you would a rom.

Same here, I usually get a signal of -61 to -75 dbm at my house all the time and even with the data cap I never get slow internet like this. I called tmobile but could not figure out what's wrong, but I just flashed the ka6 modem and it helped a little, I can at least open inernet pages now....

my Dell Streak will not connect to any networks, and it is unlocked. What do I do?
I apologize. I did research on this before posting, but apparently didn't do enough. My original message said that the Streak wouldn't work on Bell, but I didn't dig deep enough to realize Bell utilizes a hybrid network, with the HSPA+ GSM component activated in 2009.
Am not on Bell but on Telus.
My suggestion is to go on Bellmobility websitd and check ? Telus does post its APN setting on its site. Perhaps Bell does the same ?

The best you can find from Bell is in my post above from the Bell website. They would not give me the APN over the phone.

I am planning on getting a Motorola Atrix as a secondary phone. I have set up a family plan for my daughter and I plan on putting the Atrix in there.
She uses a flip phone so I didn't put a data plan. If I put the atrix on that plan will rogers automatically give me a data plan?
I have three numbers in my familly plan; one iPhone, one Nokia N97, and an Atrix. All work fine with the familly data plan. For your info, the numbers are getting the data, not the phone. Last year I had a Desire, a Desire Z, an iphone4, a Vibrant, a Captivate, and now the Atrix. All have been in the data plan and Rovers never new what phone I had, but for the iPhone4 because it uses a micro sim.
yes but I heard that if you have a smartphone you need a data plan. I don't want a data plan on the family account. Will rogers force a data plan on it?
rogers requires you to have a data plan only if you are buying a smartphone from them at a subsidized price. if you get an atrix and unlock it you can use any plan you want.
Just don't use any data on it as they will charge you for it and it won't be pretty. Use wifi only and you will be fine on that front
Is there any reason why Rogers Data service wouldn't work on freshly unlocked Atrix?
I have data enabled and all! (as far as I know I went through every data setting and tried multiple permutations, but it always says something "no network access").
The phone works fine for calls though!
Ideas?

To be clear. What types of networks are our rezounds capable of running on in North America.
Do we get full HSDPA+ on ATT or just Edge here.
Also, What about UTMS networks like TMobile. Can we have a guru chime in here?
there capable with frequency that have 1900/2100 since most gsm company in the u.s has 1900 frequency you can only get edge with it, but some people were able to get 3g like t-mobile and Att because of there 1900/2100 frequency they have.
please explain what is or are guru chime

I am rather intrigued by this subject, because I do sometimes travel to other countries. Not very often, less than once per year.
My wife has an iPhone 4s which is an official Verizon global phone. From the latest ruu leak, the rezound will soon be joining the list.
With a Verizon global phone, one can automatically roam on CDMA and GSM networks at a cost of $2 per minute or more depending on the country. This seems like a lot but I think one can call the USA without any long distance charges.
An alternative is to use a GSM ROM along with a SIMM from a cell company in that country. But, what will it cost to call the USA?
Another variable us the length of travel. My last trip abroad was just for a weekend. Arrived on Friday afternoon and flew home on Monday morning.
Perhaps a GSM ROM SIMM coupled with Skype or Google Voice is more economical?
Anyways, I probably think about this more than it is worth.
On the subject of APNs, I ran across a free app which can load any of 1100 APNs depending on ones location.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tweakkericsbeta
It does not seem to live up to its claims, because when I run it the only choice seems to be Verizon apn.
But it already has globe have you updated with the new ruu

The proxy setting only helps the MVNO, in this case NET10. They can and do use it to throttle certain types of data transfer. One specific type that I've experienced is that the android speedtest.net app will not function with this proxy setting in place. You can delete the proxy setting without ill effects on your cellular signal and, among other benefits, the speedtest.net app will once again work. YMMV.
